This story was inspired by the authors two granddaughters and is based upon a true event. One evening, the two young granddaughters were in their yard at their home in South Carolina. It was already dusk, but the full moon was giving light to the yard. The girls could not believe what they saw coming down their long tree-lined driveway. To their amazement, they could see a very young paint-colored pony sauntering in their yard. Both girls, aged nine and twelve, were delighted with what they saw. They were so excited they just could not believe their eyes. You see, the girls love horses and all that nature provides. This story depicts the bond of friendship that can be developed between the pony and the young girls. The story shows how friendships can develop in all forms and at any age between people and their fondness for animals. Clearly, the story of We Will Be Friends Forever demonstrates that friendships can be developed when a friendly hand is extended. Some may say that Marsha is a horse who has a bit of surplus ego status when around others horses. But with the help of four other horses in the herd and a beautiful shade tree in the pasture, Marsha learns to be a gracious and grateful member of the herd of five. This story will thoroughly capture the attention of the reader. The story takes place on Mr. Ranch's horse farm. The horses love to have their fun time in the nearby pasture. The pasture is a natural setting of tasty grass, a stream of cool water, and beautiful shade trees. There is one large tree in particular which seems to be the horses' favorite. And the pasture too is the home of an abundance of wild life such as deer, wild turkeys, Canada geese, and colorful birds. The story begins on a beautiful sunny day. But in the afternoon the sun begins to dim. Large gray clouds fill the sky as thunder is heard in the distance, and soon the rains move in with a vengeance. Four of the horses immediately return to their stable for shelter, but NOT Marsha, she says that she is brave and not afraid of "a silly thunderstorm". But Marsha soon finds out otherwise. This story will thoroughly captivate the attention of those who read it. And the reader's heart strings of thoughtful emotion will be moved by the dramatic events of this day. This story was inspired by the authors family in South Carolina. It is truly a delightful read! The imagery is realistic and is expressed by the way the happy family was suddenly confronted by a stormadversityand bonded together for comfort and safety. Because the young girls in the story believed and, subsequently, found comfort in their parents calm direction, they were able to remain calm and weather the struggle. In many ways, this is a great metaphor for our lives. Contrast is found in how things start out blissfully and then all joy is seemingly, in a twinkling, lost in the tumult of events. The story leads the reader to initially think that all is well and that the family is blessed with no difficulties, but then wham! The story line then temporarily proves otherwise. This book shows how life can turn downward but then can rise victoriously upward again with faith, work, trust, courage, and togetherness. This book is a marvelous read for all people and all ages.
