Robert Cohen is a Motivational Speaker and writer of a book of poetry inspired by life experiences. Cohen is a native of Savannah Georgia and grew up in the Chatham County School system. He received a undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from Savannah State University in December 2005. On March 2006 Cohen received his license to minister. For the past ten years Cohen has worked for the City of Savannah as a Summer Camp Counselor and is on the Board of Directors for the Chatham Savannah Citizens Advocacy. In his role for the Chatham Savannah Citizens Advocacy, he has developed and implemented programs to assist the disabled better their life skills. He is excited to be a member of GoodWill Good Guides mentoring program. He is also a part of a Cerebral Palsy support group. Theories of criminality and theories of victimization have traditionally been discussed as though they bore no relationship to one another. Yet, a complete explanation for crime must examine both the decision to engage in crime by an offender and the everyday actions of ordinary citizens that increase vulnerability to criminals. The integration of these approaches yields testable models that have greater predictive power than could be obtained by looking only at models of offenders or models of victim behavior. A more general perspective that accounts for both the decision to engage in crime and the selection of particular crime targets is developed and tested.

American college students during the Age of Roosevelt confronted two of the gravest crises in the twentieth century: the Great Depression and the growing international tensions that ultimately led to World War II. These crises generated more idealism than despair, politicizing undergraduates, who built the first mass student movement in American history. Led by leftists, this movement responded to the crisis in international relations by organizing national student strikes against war and fascism - which at their height in the mid-1930s mobilized almost half of the undergraduate population in the United States. While battling for peace in the international arena, the student movement responded to the Depression in America by waging a war on poverty. The movement championed a broader and more egalitarian vision of the welfare state than that of the New Dealers. Demanding "scholarships not battleships," Depression-era student activists pushed for federal educational funding and job programs for all needy young Americans. The student movement tested the limits of free speech on campus. Anti-radical college administrators sought to suppress the movement, provoking major battles over political expression.
