The world can seem like a great place for some people but for some, it's a living nightmare. It feels like no matter where they go, trouble follows them. The more they run away from the trouble, the closer they get to it. Ritika was also running away from her troubles in the past but ended up in worse. With no one to help or look out for her, the world seemed more lonely and dangerous than she’d ever imagined. After running away from her home, molested by her teacher, she ended up in a city she has only seen on TV, Mumbai. She was scared and lost. But she refused to lose hope. This journey takes you through a teenager's neglected feelings building and pushing her up to the limits of practically taking her bags and running away...

Master's Thesis from the year 2013 in the subject Health - Physical Therapy / Occupational Therapy, grade: 1, , course: Sports Physiotherapy, language: English, abstract: To compare the mean percentage improvement in coordination, strength and disability in overhead throw athletes with partial thickness tear of the rotator cuff following plyometric training in different phases of rehabilitation. A total of 30 male overhead throwers suffering from partial thickness tear of the rotator cuff injury, on the basis of inclusion criteria were taken in the study. A full description of the study, including the selection process was explained to each patient. Documented consent was obtained from each patient. Group 1 consisted of athletes with history of rotator cuff injury one and half year back and group 2 included athletes with rotator cuff injury three months back. Coordination , strength and disability were assessed pre and post plyometric training for a period of three weeks and the mean percentage of improvement were compared in both the group following plyometric training. Results-.intragroup analysis showed a significant improvement in coordination, strength with the level of significance (p
Feeling proud you chose your favourite salad over a regular meal? Still cutting out carbs and overdosing on proteins to cut that flab? But what if that’s doing more harm than good? What if that’s not really helping you sustain that ideal flat stomach you desire? What if everything you have been told about fitness is a convincingly marketed lie? What if it’s NOT fit but fiction?!
This book presents a comprehensive theoretical study of fictional and non-fictional narratives of 1984 anti-Sikh violence in India. This volume contributes to the expanding field of trauma and memory studies in literature through an interdisciplinary approach. It takes perspectives from the fields of neurobiology, sociology, psychology, and literary theory to offer an integrative and fresh approach to reading and locating trauma in narratives. Going beyond a simple reading of silence, the author discusses themes which encompass othering of the Sikh body; visual, echoic, and olfactory memories; somatic expressions of trauma; experiences of women and instances of rape and sexual atrocities; and children as young witnesses and intergenerational trauma, to understand questions of agency and politics of remembering. Incisive and invigorating, this book is a must read for students of memory and trauma studies, Sikh studies, South Asian literature, gender studies, English studies, postcolonial studies, cultural studies, psychology, exclusion studies, and political sociology.
This thesis presents the first ever measurement of the noise emitted by magnetic monopoles and the development of an exquisitely sensitive magnetic-field-noise spectrometer based on a superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) that enabled it. Magnetic monopoles are highly elusive elementary particles exhibiting quantized magnetic charge. The prospects for studying them brightened recently with the theoretical discovery that the thermally excited states in certain classes of magnetic insulators exhibit all the characteristics of magnetic monopoles. Furthermore, in 2018, it was predicted that the random motion of magnetic monopoles inside would generate a very specific kind of magnetization noise. In this thesis, the author describes a new experimental technique, so-called spin noise spectroscopy, and the subsequent discovery of virtually all of the predicted features of the magnetic noise expected from a dense fluid of magnetic monopoles in crystals of Dy2Ti2O7. Remarkably, because this magnetic monopole noise occurs in the frequency range below 20kHz, when amplified by the SQUID it is actually audible to humans.
It has been more than seventy-six years since the Partition of the Indian Subcontinent, but for those who lived through the phase, the memories remain as fresh as ever. Based on interviews of the 'Partition Generation' living across borders (India and Pakistan), this book aims to bring together narratives from the generation that would soon be completely lost to time. With its beginnings in a Facebook page called 'Bolti Khidki: The Speaking Window', now being conceptualized as a book, this is an important work with the premise that people are humane in their natural state; that among the stories of bloodshed and rape that Partition is most remembered for, there are also stories of religious tolerance and mutual respect. There are also numerous cases of people being given shelter, among all the carnage that took place, by those belonging to other religions, other faiths. This book captures not just memories, but also the resilience of those who suffered and emerged stronger.
This book shows how railway technology, travel, and infrastructure became increasingly and inextricably woven into everyday life in colonial South Asia.

The book argues that an increasing corporatisation of agriculture in India that is enabled by its neoliberal State, in the name of ‘development’, is contributing towards deepening of inequality in the rural India. It says that Contract Farming (CF) acts as a conduit that enables the coming together of myriad production relations (mercantile, finance, productive) to sell agri-commodities to the capitalist peasant. It is an accumulation strategy that brings together various factions of domestic and foreign capital together. It shows that CF as an accumulation strategy is enabled by an active interventionist state and this neoliberal Indian state mediates the relation between the agri-capital and Indian peasantry. The book further analyzes contract farming as a part of the totality of the capitalist mode of production in context of developing countries with a large agrarian base--- asking three fundamental questions – what is CF, how and why is it done and what are the implications of it.

A turbulent childhood is at the root of what went on to be an equally turbulent adulthood for Daniel. Like so many others, his abuse begun at home. With no fixed father figure and a physically abusive mother, what should be pleasant memories were turned into nightmarish recollections. Social Services soon intervened and at the age of 13 and he was placed in a children's home. Whilst places like children's homes are created for the protection of children it seems as though they can often be a breeding ground for the abuse and manipulation of children. His experience with a number of institutions that were put in place to prevent the harm of children has proved that there is a blatant betrayal of trust by those put in a position of authority. The lack of moral backbone that such systems employed left him and a number of other children confused about authority and the law - a defective trait that led to misguided criminal activity during our youths. His never dying determination and love for his wife made him turn the things around. He is a living proof that no matter how bad it gets, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
This book is rooted in Devi Maa's instruction and guidance. The true credit for writing this book only and only goes to Devi Maa herself. I only played a role of a medium or you can say a postman who was appointed to deliver her 'love letter 'that is her love and grace in form of this book for all her beloved devotees. This book shall automatically get delivered and reach every home, whom Devi Maa herself would like to send to, here 'every home means every heart'. May it open a new door for each one of you and remind you how much you are loved and of the strength that lies within you. "I became the vessel and she became the energy that flowed and poured." I was called to write through the voice of Maa Shakti (universal mother goddess), which lives in my own heart. This book is a reminder for every devotee that the divine mother and her grace is always with each one of us. Love and Grace of Maa Durga is a collection of Devi Maa's real miracles and encounters in life experienced by many of her devotees, including me; these stories of grace have been shared here to reach out and inspire readers. This book is not just a book on miracles of the supreme deity, Devi Maa. It is actually her love, grace and shakti and, while reading, you will be able to sense her energy, healing and love in your hearts; you will feel a connection with her in your subconscious. Jai Mata Di!
