A year that begins in November and ends with October. Although you cannot meditate on fun, this book is clearly about that, I mean, the first poem even says so right there. But who cares about fun? We all do. OK. Also add: one and a half cups of grief, a pinch of Howdy Do and a tablespoon of What Gives and you have got yourself some Butterscotch, and it means you got yourself a tome of donuts marriages, Hollywood dogs fetching bones near swingsets, Jalapenos Muchos, Marilyn Monroe at lightspeed, the word 'scythe' for some reason and a vaguely horny Emily Dickinson - blame it on the booze - and more. This honey of a door weight is close to 700 pages and is not for the faint of eyeballs or weightlifting - in fact, it is the ideal book of verse to carry with you in sketchy neighborhoods and to have by your side when you buy your own island and you need a softcover pillow on which to dream and stuff just like that. When I buy my island, I am going to buy one of these just like this. I ain't lyin'.

For all these years I've told stories. Sometimes these days I also tell them on the radio. I've met some amazing people and their stories need told too. The first time Deacon Blue ever played Wembley Arena I started to introduce a song only to hear, "Get on with it" shouted from Row Z. We proceeded with the song, but I often thought I'd quite like to finish that story.' In 1986, Ricky Ross started a full-time career in music, which has lasted for over 35 years. His earlier working life was spent in youth work and teaching in his home city of Dundee, and his adopted home of Glasgow. It was in these two cities where he spent his formative years learning how to write and play songs. Having always written about the people and places who've made an impact on his life, it's no surprise that this is how he has approached Walking Back Home, his first ever memoir, which takes the reader on a journey from Ricky's childhood to the rollercoaster of leading his band to top of the charts and their break-up, his solo career and Deacon Blue's recent renaissance.

OGOEGO working titled as LET THE LITTLE SILVER MAN CARRY YOUR GRAVY, but a fortuitous trip to Manhattan & then to midtown and then to an art gallery and then to a Bloody Mary and then to the Lego Store armed with a camera resulted in an image that demanded to be made into a title and that the title demanded to adorn a book - but this really turned out to be good news. God Bless the Brains of Lego for what they do and Lego Pieces for what they are ... I believe they were originally made by the Vikings.
