This expos reveals unique and tragic events that occurred north of San Francisco Bay in Northwestern California primarily during the Nineteenth Century. It details a clash between the indigenous inhabitants of the area who had lived here for several millennia and White invaders from the eastern portions of the United States attracted by reports of placer gold deposits found in selected waterways as well as by the presence of land where flora and fauna grew in unprecedented profusion from the heavy rainfall sufficient to support great stands of Redwood forests, the tallest trees on earth. For American ranchers and farmers subject to drought in many parts of the United States, Northwestern California sounded like a Garden marred only by the presence of hundreds of thousands of Native Americans who occupied this Eden. What followed was a war of brutality in the 1800s between two races for possession of land ownership, an updated story that has never been presented in such detail before. White migrants committed ethnocide and genocide in removing the natives while founding Humboldt, Trinity, Mendocino and Klamath counties. This work takes the form of an historical novel blending fact with a modicum of fiction for readability.
MOCASIN TRACKS A Novel about Survival and heroism among a band of crow Indians in the old west (What if a 7 y/o captive with great intelligence and special skills appeared in 1837 at a strategically-located village of Crow Indians; that the boy grew up to manhood living among the people, finding, through serendipitous circumstances, that this Crow village responded positively to his leadership. Could this partnership have enabled this particular band to form an organization, unique among American Indians, powerful enough to survive the dire threats to non-Europeans sweeping across America during the 1800’s?) The history of the American West includes a sorry story of abuse and domination of Native Americans by the United States government and its enforcement arm, the U.S. Army. The destruction of the life style and autonomy of indigenous people has resulted in denying to Native Americans "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" even today. This book has a heroic White genius of 7 y/o who, over 20 years, teaches the tribe the English language and modern military technique enough to stand up to the U.S. Army. Eventually, they must flee to Canada where their modern skills enable them to be accepted as Canadian citizens. The book is extensively and accurately researched and reflects a non-fictional foundation to the imaginative ending.
Putting off the Old Man and Putting on the New Man is not some mystical process that is reserved only for a select few, the tools to accomplish this transformation are given to each of us if we will apply them. There is a great disconnect between the average Christian and the victory that God has promised us in His Word over sin. Many people are stuck in the repentance cycle spending every day feeling as a failure in their Christian walk. The repentance cycle is that process where we continue to fall into a besetting sin despite seeking God in repentance and confession. Many have all but given up on trying to gain victory over the sins that they face and have been convinced that there is no hope for them. This book will provide you practical and usable tools to end the repentance cycle in your life and give you the knowledge from God's Word to live the victorious Christian life that you have longed for.
Today we are pressured by many groups to cut back on the resources we use so the environment can be saved for future generations. However, other pressures of work and providing for our families often make these necessary cuts seem far away and irrelevant, and the spiral of greed and waste despoiling global ecologies seems to escalate every year. But what if there was a way to tap into and motivate the deepest aspects of human nature so that our activities nurture and preserve the living environment, rather than destroy it? What if, in the process of applying a philosophy called "taking it back- finding it here" to the ways that people live, we could truly liberate the human spirit? It is the author's strong belief that there is such a philosophy, that it can be pursued successfully, and that there are already many people around the world who in living by this philosophy's creed are beginning to live lightly on the Earth while living a meaningful and wholesome life. To explore what this means, this book will not only explore the ways of living this philosophy demands, but also reveal some of the darkest aspects of human nature before coming out into the light of what human nature can achieve when we really start taking it back and finding it here.
