Algonquin Legacy starts out fifteen years after the Battle of Crow Wing River where the combined allies of the Anishinaabe had fought the powerful Lakota nation in the Lakota homelands. The battle ended abruptly when there was a solar eclipse of the sun. This was an actual event that took place on July 16th, 1330, from 1:03 to 3:10 p.m. in the area where they were fighting. The warriors on both sides thought it was an omen and retreated. When the Anishinaabe returned to their village the decision was made to go towards the western sun to settle. This decision came at great cost to the surviving family of the late Omàmiwinini (Algonquin) leader Mahingan. His son, daughter, and the great Mi ́kmaq warrior Crazy Crow, went to the west with the Anishinaabe. Mahingan’s wife and nephews, along with their wives, friends, and Mahigan's brother, Mitigomij, the greatest warrior of them all who was also a shape shifter travelled back to their homelands along the Kitcisìpi Kitchi (Ottawa River). This split up a very strong family.

This book discusses how images of dying in the Bhāgavata-Purāna relate to issues of language and love in the religious imagination of India. Drawing on insights from studies in myth, literary semiotics, and depth psychology, as well as from Indian commentarial and aesthetic traditions, the author examines the power of myth and narrative (storytelling or hari katha) and shows how a detailed awareness of the Puranic imagination may lead to a revisioning of some long-held presuppositions around Indian religious attitudes toward dying. Gus, fifty-five, built a log cabin in a remote area in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. He did so to get away from bad relationships, which resulted in a failed business and two divorces. Gus wanted to be alone and responsible for only himself. Misty, seventeen, lost her beloved outdoorsman father in a motorcycle accident. She blames her mother. Only months later, her mother gets a “loser” boyfriend, whom Misty despises. Her mother thinks that Misty’s boyfriend, David, is too old for her daughter. During the past decades Balto-Slavic accentology has become increasingly important for the reconstruction of Proto-Indo-European. This study tries to provide an explanation for the phenomenon of metatony in Baltic, i.e. the phenomenon that in certain Baltic forms a morpheme shows the reflex of the Balto-Slavic circumflex intonation where we would expect the reflex of the acute intonation (métatonie douce) or vice versa (métatonie rude). The subject necessarily involves an inquiry into the origin of the Lithuanian and Latvian tone systems. Furthermore, it requires the assessment of a large number of etymologies. In the final chapter of the book, the developments which are considered to be relevant to the rise of metatony are incorporated into a relative chronology. The investigation is based on a comprehensive collection of data, including evidence from Lithuanian and Latvian dialects and Old Lithuanian. In comparison with earlier studies on the subject, the Latvian evidence plays an essential role. This book tries to demonstrate that the value of Latvian data for Balto-Slavic accentology has hitherto not been fully recognized.
