The fourth edition of this book updates and elaborates on the seven dimensions of maternal emotional health that have significant impact on delivery, postpartum adaptation, infant health, and early childhood development. Supported by the authors’ original research and interviews, the book provides readers with an analysis of the role of these core functions throughout pregnancy, as well as practical materials for use with pregnant clients in the form of assessment instruments and evidence-based interventions for promoting positive development. Product development and ramp-up is a well-researched challenge for industry. However, how to end the production of a product is a blind spot for industry and science although practitioners are calling for scientific support. This book sheds light on the topic of production phase-out by offering measures that can turn a process that is perceived as uninspiring to a success pillar for companies. The book reveals cross-industry insights on the relatively new topic of phase-out. The interview findings are mirrored with the Phase-Out Process Model, which describes activities and tasks to be performed during a phase-out. As an instrument to support the implementation of the process model, the Phase-Out Production Planning and Control was developed as an add-on to standard production IT support. It enables companies to better forecast spare parts needs and expected remaining stock costs at the proposed end of production. Through a qualitative and a conceptual research phase, the findings of this dissertation show that there is a high potential of improving phase-out in the industry. This manuscript provides theoretical and managerial implications to pave the way towards enhancing phase-outs. This potential can be raised by implementing the proposed formalization structures and mathematical models based on empirical and conceptual research. This book, therefore, helps to promote the effective implementation of a formalized phase-out in company’s management practice to make their business more efficient.
This is a detailed and scholarly account of religious belief and conflict in the strategically important province of Inner Austria between 1580 and 1630. Regina Pörtner shows how Protestantization in the first half of the sixteenth century was linked to communication with the Protestants of the rest of the Empire, and to the failure of ecclesiastical reform in the church province of Salzburg, of which Styria formed part. The Protestant success of 1578, however, proved deceptive because it lacked constitutional substance, and was defended by an inherently weak union of the Inner Austrian estates. Dr Pörtner analyses the aims, achievements, and shortcomings of the Habsburgs' confessional crusade in Styria, showing how although the progress of Protestantization was reversed, the Counter-Reformation left an ambivalent legacy to the modern Austrian state.

The focus of Chapter 1 is twofold: (1) to present the research foundations for the psychophysiological correlates of prenatal psychosocial adaptation and the seven prenatal personality dimensions with progress in labor and birth outcomes, and particularly (2) to present the theory underlying the seven dimensions of prenatal psychosocial adaptation, which are further analyzed in the following seven chapters. Chapters 2–8 present a content analysis of the interview responses to the seven significant prenatal personality dimensions that are predictive of pregnancy adap- tion, progress in labor, birth outcomes, and postpartum maternal psychosocial adaptation, and they include: (1) Acceptance of Pregnancy, (2) Identification with a Motherhood Role, (3) Relationship with Mother, (4) Relationship with Husband, (5) Preparation for Labor, (6) (Prenatal) Fear of Pain, Helplessness, and Loss of Control in Labor, and (7) (Prenatal) Fear of Loss of Self-Esteem in Labor. There is no other comparable comprehensive, in-depth, prenatal personality research or empirical and content analysis of pregnancy-specific dimensions of maternal psychosocial adaptation to pregnancy.
