These are the picture fuzzy Dombi aggregation operators, including picture fuzzy Dombi weighted averaging operator, picture fuzzy Dombi order weighted averaging operator, picture fuzzy Dombi hybrid averaging operator, picture fuzzy Dombi weighted geometric operator, picture fuzzy Dombi order weighted geometric operator, and picture fuzzy Dombi hybrid geometric operator. Each of these operators are used to solve MADM problems. An extension picture fuzzy set known as m-polar picture fuzzy set is proposed and investigated along with many properties of m-polar picture fuzzy Dombi weighted averaging and geometric operators; each of these operators are applied to MADM problems. Another extension of the picture fuzzy set is the interval-valued picture fuzzy uncertain linguistic environment. In this set, interval-valued picture fuzzy uncertain linguistic weighted averaging and geometric operators are developed, and interval-valued picture fuzzy uncertain linguistic Dombi weighted aggregation operators are utilized in the MADM process. In the complex picture fuzzy environment, the authors demonstrate some complex picture fuzzy weighted aggregation operators to be used in solving MADM problems. Another approach called MABAC with picture fuzzy numbers is studied and developed as a multi-attribute group decision making model. Furthermore, the picture fuzzy linear programming problem (PFLPP) is initiated, in which the parameters are picture fuzzy numbers (PFNs). The picture fuzzy optimization method is applied for solving the PFLPP. Since its discovery as the cause of infectious mononucleosis in 1964, the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) has been etiologically implicated in an increasing number of human diseases. Generally considered the first human oncogenic virus because of a number of studies linking it with Burkitt's lymphoma and nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), as well as its documented oncogenicity in nonhuman primates, EBVhas served as a model for identifying subsequent candidate oncogenic viruses and the stimulus for Evans' revision of the Henle-Koch postulates to accommodate the problems in proving viral oncogenicity in humans. Research on the role of EBV in human cancer was particularly en hanced (a) by the pioneering work of Werner and Gertrude Henle, and (b) by the coordinated efforts of the Special Virus Leukemia Program and its successors, the Special Virus Cancer Program and the Virus Cancer Program of the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Initiated by Dr. Frank J. Rauscher, who subsequently became director of the Ncr and is now Vice-President of the American Cancer Society, and expanded by Dr. John B. Moloney, whose contributions to cancer research were honored at this Second International Symposium on EBV and Associated Malignant Diseases, these NCI contract-sup ported programs brought together investigators from all over the world to participate in a joint effort to unravel the mystery of EBV behavior and pathogenicity. The characterization of materials and phenomena has historically been the principal limitation to the development in each area of science. Once what we are observing is well defined, a theoretical analysis rapidly follows. Modern theories of chemical bonding did not evolve until the methods of analytical chemistry had progressed to a point where the bulk stoichiometry of chemical compounds was firmly established. The great progress made during this century in understanding chemistry has followed directly from the development of an analytical chemistry based on the Dalton assumption of multiple proportions. It has only become apparent in recent years that the extension of our understanding of materials hinges on their non-stoichiometric nature. The world of non-Daltonian chemistry is very poorly understood at present because of our lack of ability to precisely characterize it. The emergence of materials science has only just occurred with our recognition of effects, which have been thought previously to be minor variations from ideality, as the principal phenomena controlling properties. The next step in the historical evolution of materials science must be the development of tools to characterize the often subtle phenomena which determine properties of materials. The various discussions of instrumental techniques presented in this book are excellent summaries for the state-of-the-art of materials characterization at this rather critical stage of materials science. The application of the tools described here, and those yet to be developed, holds the key to the development of this infant into a mature science.
