Thirteen-year-old Kelli Paramar is eager to join a gaming tournament with a team of other girls, despite a nasty team of boys that uses hacking not only to threaten the girls on the team, but to give themselves an advantage by adding extra powers to their avatars--Kelli finds out what is going on by using her power to talk to objects, but she is determined to expose the boys cheating without revealing her own secret.
Thirteen-year-old Kelli Paramar has always kept her ability to talk to and hear objects a secret (especially after her father walked out after she told him years ago), but when she hears about Project Epiphany, which is studying the possibility of ESP and telekinesis by doing brain scans, she is interested--though she does not entirely trust the psychology professor in charge, it is only when some of the other test subjects start to vanish, that she realizes her suspicions are fully justified, and in fact the situation may be far worse than she imagined.
Kelli's dad makes her go to a sports camp. Kelli hates sports, but she hopes she can mend her relationship with her dad if she does well at the camp. However, tensions with the other campers rise as Kelli's sports skills remain out of reach. If Kelli wants to prove to her camp-mates and her dad that she's good enough, she'll need to use more than her athletics. Kelli taps into her secret powers of telekinesis and ESP to persuade the ball to help her out. But soon Kelli's camp enemies start catching on and accuse her of cheating. Kelli struggles with the choice to use her powers in the final competitions but isn't sure if she can succeed without them.
Kelli Paramar attends a charity auction at a haunted theater and is anxious to use her paranormal powers to talk to the mysterious black diamond to find out if it can shed light on her own powers, but after the auction the diamond is stolen from the art museum; at first Kelli suspects the strange man she noticed among the bidders, a man that apparently nobody else saw--but the other artifacts inform her that the man is Sturgeon Rackham who disappeared in 1900, and that the thief was a woman, who may be planning to use the diamond's aura against people like Kelli.

Kelli's powers of telekinesis, and her ability to speak to and understand inanimate objects has often seemed to mess things up, including causing her father to desert her and her mother; but now he is trying to get back into her life, and she is torn between anger, resentment, and maybe hope, emotions that are not improved when he immediately dumps her off at a tennis day camp, where one of the older girls seems to want to humiliate her--a situation that leads her to use her powers (with the enthusiastic assistance of her tennis ball and racket) to retaliate, and ultimately causes her to blow-up at her neglectful father.

Social consciousness is neither corporate social responsibility (CSR) nor public relations but a mindset that understands and accepts the interconnectedness of an organization's economic, social, and natural environments. Socially conscious organizations come into existence when led by socially conscious managers. This book enables socially conscious managers to become Impact Champions through three pathways to successfully initiate and run socially responsible business innovations, CSR projects, and social entrepreneurial ventures. The book is organized into five parts. The first part sets the context and provides the readers with tools to reflect on contemporary social and environmental issues and orient themselves towards action. To develop the skills necessary to contribute to the triple bottom line, young managers need to deepen their understanding of social problems, developmental issues, threats to the environment, and long-standing issues of sustainability and environmental management, all of which are woven into various chapters. In the following four parts, the book progresses through three pathways: socially driven business innovation, CSR, and social entrepreneurship. Being an Impact Champion hopes to instill confidence in new managers to talk about socially and environmentally sensitive issues facing the corporate world and thereby expand their capacity to influence.

The book “Oxadiazole in Material and Medicinal Chemistry” is based on the utility of organic motifs that contain oxadiazole units in their molecular architecture. Most of the common and alternate ways to synthesize oxadiazole-based probes have been discussed. The book also features some of the advanced applications of such organic motifs in liquid crystals, OLEDs, imaging agents, and medicines. Few practical applications of oxadiazole-based molecules in material and electronic areas have also been outlined. The book focuses on understanding the role of oxadiazole scaffolds in biological events, disease monitoring, and detection. The therapeutic effect of oxadiazole-based probes on cancer, inflammation, and neurodegeneration have also been covered in the book. Oxadiazole probes in inhibitor design and the corresponding inhibitory potency as drug development have been outlined. The authors hope that the book will garner positive interest among students and researchers associated with material and medicinal chemistry.
