POTPOURRI ANTHOLOGY, VOLUME I, is a collection of poems submitted by members from a Facebook Poetry Group owned and run by Susan Joyner-Stumpf and co-owned by Cindy Toth called POTPOURRI POETS/ARTISTS WRITING COMMUNITY. Here on these pages are the collections under one roof of talented Souls that have come together to help create this Anthology with their amazing words, each varied and unique and reflecting the individual poet's style and finesse; their hopes, dreams, fears, love, laughter, joy and tears.
This book by such poets is to help raise badly needed funds for the ongoing relief work in Haiti. The book is a tribute in poetic form to the talented men and women who have entertained us with their music for the past century. Here you will see names from the world of Popular Music, Heavy Rock, Folk, Gospel, and Opera. You name it and it’s represented here. For some of you there will be names that you grew up with, as far back as the nineteen sixties who are still making chart topping hits, even today. Music is an art form that can stir the emotions, and the brutal passions of a revolution to the gentle elegance of love.
A remarkable collection of 42 poets connected with the Rutherford, NJ poetry revival gives voice to memorable poetry and essays in the third edition of The Rutherford Red Wheelbarrow. Published by the Red Wheelbarrow Poets, this third annual edition of the literary journal celebrates the epic in the local and poetic voices in the American grain that so inspired William Carlos Williams, Rutherford's hometown doctor and poet, whose liberation of the voice of the common man (and woman) in poetry was a true revolution in words during the last century.--The Red Wheelbarrow Poets.

a word from . . . Karama SadakaSometimes even the greatest of ideas can suffer from lack of planning and flawed execution. This was NOT the case however with The Poetic Idol Competition. From the competitors themselves all the way over to the judges, everyone gave it their all from the moment the mic was first opened allowing us to share and be inspired. Some of us called in from the road, our jobs and even from the hospital (yikes!). We laughed, we cried, screamed and shouted, but we all came away each week feeling like we truly shared a moving experience. In the end, it was something I personally won't forget anytime soon and I have no doubt it will be even better next "season". Please enjoy the offerings from our community presented here.Karama Sadaka

This cinquain sequence of two hundred and twelve poems, May Dazed, was written during May 2005 as a collaborative work by fourteen poets of the CinquainPoets online writing group. The sequence, in which each cinquain begins with the last line of the preceding cinquain, goes through several discernible movements as it proceeds. The final cinquain ends with a line identical to the first line of the sequence. May Dazed is an extraordinary work in this great American poetic form. CinquainPoets brings together poets interested in the American Cinquain form, as developed by the Imagist poet, Adelaide Crapsey. Simply, a cinquain is a five line poem with a syllable pattern of 2-4-6-8-2. Currently with 98 members around the world, the CinquainPoets group includes some of the finest poets who are writing in cinquains today.
Lines (A Writer's Legacy)Lines ... such a simple word. Yet with such a profound meaning. Profound because different people have different connotations of this word. It can be anything in a person's imagination. Like the borderline between the sea and the sky. The outline of stars in the canopy of clouds. The lining of the moon's glow from above. It may be some structure. The stanza completing a poet's verse. The hues shading a painter's sketch. A road toward someone's journey. Lines have some beginnings and some endings, some starting and some finishing thread in the tapestry of life.Lines ... I think of it in terms of melody, of a symphony, of harmony ... that's the line of thought of a writer. I also think of it as a pathway, an alley that allows me to travel into a thousand dreams. Life is a journey, travel, a tour, a destiny. The lines that we frequently walk on, fall on, stand on are the ones we most cherish and treasure much.
