We have liberally included tables, line diagrams, images, clinical photographs, illustrative figures, flowcharts and algorithms in the main text. The book is divided in 10 major Parts and further arranged into 51 Sections to cover all aspects of postgraduate pediatric curriculum. Themes which have major public health relevance for India are extensively covered. It is almost impossible to cover all pediatric problems with the same degree of detail and hence a careful balance has been made in the details of description of diseases and their management to the needs of the students, and to keep the book to a manageable size. Take-home messages are provided at the end of each chapter. Selected recent references, mostly leading articles, reviews and position statements, are provided for more detailed information if desired by the student or the teacher.

Such a composable building block based solution for genomics addresses the most complex data management aspect and allows organizations to store, access, manage, and share huge volumes of genome sequencing data. IBM SpectrumTM Scale is software-defined storage that is used to manage storage and provide massive scale, a global namespace, and high-performance data access with many enterprise features. IBM Spectrum ScaleTM is used in clustered environments, provides unified access to data via file protocols (POSIX, NFS, and SMB) and object protocols (Swift and S3), and supports analytic workloads via HDFS connectors. Deploying IBM Spectrum Scale and IBM Elastic StorageTM Server (IBM ESS) as a composable storage building block in a Genomics Next Generation Sequencing deployment offers key benefits of performance, scalability, analytics, and collaboration via multiple protocols. This IBM RedpaperTM publication describes a composable solution with detailed architecture definitions for storage, compute, and networking services for genomics next generation sequencing that enable solution architects to benefit from tried-and-tested deployments, to quickly plan and design an end-to-end infrastructure deployment. The contents of this book compliment the multitude of research publications in this domain by providing coherent fundamentals. An explosive market of Li ion batteries has led to aggressive demand for mathematical models for battery management systems (BMS). Researchers from multi-various backgrounds contribute from their respective background, leading to a lateral growth. Risk of this runaway situation is that researchers tend to use an existing method or algorithm without in depth knowledge of the cohesive fundamentals—often misinterpreting the outcome. It is worthy to note that the guiding principles are similar and the lack of clarity impedes a significant advancement. A repeat or even a synopsis of all the applications of battery modeling albeit redundant, would hence be a mammoth task, and cannot be done in a single offering. The authors believe that a pivotal contribution can be made by explaining the fundamentals in a coherent manner. Such an offering would enable researchers from multiple domains appreciate the bedrock principles and forward the frontier. Battery is an electrochemical system, and any level of understanding cannot ellipse this premise. The common thread that needs to run across—from detailed electrochemical models to algorithms used for real time estimation on a microchip—is that it be physics based. Build on this theme, this book has three parts. Each part starts with developing a framework—often invoking basic principles of thermodynamics or transport phenomena—and ends with certain verified real time applications. The first part deals with electrochemical modeling and the second with model order reduction. Objective of a BMS is estimation of state and health, and the third part is dedicated for that. Rules for state observers are derived from a generic Bayesian framework, and health estimation is pursued using machine learning (ML) tools. A distinct component of this book is thorough derivations of the learning rules for the novel ML algorithms. Given the large-scale application of ML in various domains, this segment can be relevant to researchers outside BMS domain as well. The authors hope this offering would satisfy a practicing engineer with a basic perspective, and a budding researcher with essential tools on a comprehensive understanding of BMS models.

This anthology of poems dive into the realms of dark mystic realism and celebrate the obsessive/possessive/compulsive passions that we all have but turn a blind eye to. Rohankar has imbibed a forcefulness that compels the reader to pause from the daily flux of chronos and inspect the dark revelry that unconsciously dictates and establishes the existing paradigms from an antithetical perspective. The poem abides to the Elioton soul of free verse while subtly flirting with the Edgarion scepticism and pessimistic mysticism. Many of the poems adhere to the classic medieval romanticism but at the same time they foray into projected narcissism. These poems then capitulate the projected narcissism within the framework of God complex within the personification of a woman who is adored, worshiped and glorified. Every verse brutally decimates the societal constructs and embraces one’s psyche with all pervasive absolute darkness. The mystic Sufi touch in the poems are not just borrowed principles but they reiterate the undercurrent of the fading reality of truth and increasing understanding of the absolute. Despite drawing so many parallels to the poems here and trying to summarise them in a verbalised manner, I would unflinchingly hold that this is impossible. The work stands on its own inexplicable organic unity and brings one closer to an intellectual orgasm and perhaps even absolute actualization of the prospects one dares not venture into.

This has made it an essential feature to evaluate and characterize the Hadoop file system and its deployment through extensive benchmarking. We have other benchmarking tools widely available with us today that are capable of analyzing the performance of the Hadoop system but they are made to either run in a single node system or are created for assessing the storage device that is attached and its basic characteristics as top speed and other hardware related details or manufacturer’s details. For this, the tool used is HiBench that is an essential part of Hadoop and is comprehensive benchmark suit that consist of a complete deposit of Hadoop applications having micro bench marks & real time applications for the purpose of benchmarking the performance of Hadoop on the available type of storage device (i.e. HDD and SSD) and machine configuration. This is helpful to optimize the performance and improve the support towards the limitations of Hadoop system. In this research work we will analyze and characterize the performance of external sorting algorithm in Hadoop (MapReduce) with SSD and HDD that are connected with various Interconnect technologies like 10GigE, IPoIB and RDBAIB. In addition, we will also demonstrate that the traditional servers and old Cloud systems can be upgraded by software and hardware up gradations to perform at par with the modern technologies to handle these loads, without spending ruthlessly on up gradations or complete changes in the system with the use of Modern storage devices and interconnect networking systems. This in turn reduces the power consumption drastically and allows smoother running of large scale servers with low latency and high throughput allowing use of the utmost power of the processors for the big data flowing in the network.
