Author Phillip Reisner has been seeing movies and writing poetry in his head his entire life, from his childhood years on a midwestern farm to his first venture out in the world as an adult. He learned efficiency of thought, action, and description from his father, who was a man of few words. His poetry collection, I See Movies in My Head takes place over a period of twenty years, beginning before Phillip gained self-awareness and coming up to a point of true-life realization. Phillip remembers his life experiences through movies in his head and poetically describes his personal history of growing up. His innocence is pure early in his life, but living gradually chips away with personal awareness and worldliness. Concise and to the point, the free-verse poems of I See Movies in My Head seek to remind us that simplicity teaches while complexity awaits understanding. I wish I could go back in time with more than organic films in my head, and feel sweet, special and innocent again. I wish I could be six years old again, and ignorantly unique without worldly knowledge to clutter my heart, mind, and soul.
I wrote this book of narratives and poems for you, your consideration, and your help in preserving our wonderful republic. It seems like we are presently engaged in an important government and society change. It also seems like many aspects of our way of life are being turned upside down. The whole world seems like a scary place to presently live. Its almost like the world is on the brink of revolution in one form or another. I hope this book puts a bit of reality into how the United States of America was founded and why we the people must return to constitutional fundamentals.
There is a constant hypothesis at work in this book that asserts that everything operates in dichotomy chaos and that there are always two extremes to everything. We live on a line between these extremes, and this tenuous line is in the form of a vibrating circle from beginning to end of life. The book points out how one endeavors to operate somewhere between many, many life dichotomy poles. The book seeks to answer questions and find ways to maneuver within a myriad of dichotomies. It shows middleground situations of choice, decision, and outcome and points out how life is a dichotomy-beset circle beginning at birth and ending at death. The book reveals how most human beings unknowingly attempt peaceful and spiritual balance between plaguing dichotomies. It illustrates how most everyone is seeking some kind of life purpose, be it small or large, be it on outer fringe or within steady middle of extreme poles.
My idea of arboreal thought is an analogy based on the arboreal hypothesis that suggests a ground-running biped of some kind that adapted itself to living in trees. The hypothesis suggests that the biped began climbing trees, then leaping branches, then parachuting branches, and finally developing feathered, flapping wings to fly.
The book poetically looks at a few failings and near failings in order to shed some light on the why, when, and how of failure. It defines failure as something rather dramatic that many times has consequences far beyond the initial happenstance. The book is not concerned with human or societal failure. It is not concerned with mechanical, chemical, or electrical failure. It is, however, concerned with personal faltering rather than failure. The book is concerned with faltering, which is a common thing that happens more frequently than failing. Faltering is a wavering or hesitating condition that precludes failure and usually prevents failure. Faltering is not always bad. It is usually when little problems surface before a big problem happens. Faltering most often is a learning situation and should be considered a good thing. Thank God people falter before failing.
Letters to Angela provides an intimate glimpse at author Phillip Reisner's love for his two daughters, Angela and Kaitlyn. Through a series of emotional letters and honest poetry, Reisner shares the wonderful memories they have shared and the sad, sometimes hurtful events that changed their lives forever. The letters cover a span of nearly eighteen years of Angela's life, including the untimely death of her twin, Kaitlyn, at the age of three and a half. Reisner writes candidly about his relationship with his wife, daughters, mother, and extended family. The letters were written during several months of soul searching and emotional venting in hope of finding truth in his relationships. Reflecting on spiritual and earthly forces that affect his life, beliefs, and relationships, Reisner's letters are separated by poems, offering windows into the emotions that the author confronts as he explores his innermost thoughts and feelings regarding the events of the lives of those around him. From the joy of the birth of his twin daughters to the delightful discoveries of their early years to the hope that he and Angela can rebuild their relationship through love and forgiveness, Letters to Angela attests to the unconditional love of a father for his daughter.

Life has a way of teaching alternatives to weaknesses. Our weaknesses can truly be our strengths. There are amazing remnants created through time by elemental forces. We find them everywhere and can study what nature has created and is progressively destroying. Everything begins, grows, declines, and ends. This process is pure existence. Life evolves consistently with seemingly little human plan or design. Time Remnants: Living as Transitional Material While Seeking Cosmic Exploration reveals the difficulty in categorizing Phillip Reisners poetry, poetic prose, and indeed his philosophy. He expresses ideas without lecturing, reflects on spirituality without moralizing, and examines reality without misleading. His ideas are sometimes fluid and sometimes unwavering, but no matter their genesis, they are experiences refined by introspection. He has an acute awareness of his surroundings, and his importance and unimportance in the universe. Time Remnants contains bits of wisdom hidden throughout, little jewels to remember and pieces of advice by which to live. His emphasis rests on individual fortitude, awareness, freedom and spirituality. Although he rebuffs the idea of being wise, he will admit to being intelligent enough to make up for his ignorance.
