Pat Williams has shown us what traits are vital for effective leadership and how to develop those skills in our children. In Souls of Steel, he focuses on one specific trait: Character. He explains why character matters and why so many young people today think issues like character, integrity, morality, and truth are relics of a bygone era. He shows us that to be individuals who contribute positively to our world they must have Souls of Steel.
In his book I Gotta Know, popular contemporary Christian singer Al Denson provides serious advice on relevant issues teens face. Questions are arranged in categories such as Love and Sex, Friends and School, Family Problems, and Questions about God, Sin, and Salvation. Each question is addressed with genuine concern and personal anecdotes that help young people respect and trust Al's answers. I Gotta Know shows teens the unconditional love of God and gives them confidence to accept themselves.
After speaking on teaching and influencing young people at a student gathering in Texas, Pat Williams received an email from a high school coach who had heard his talk. Coach McCall's email stated that every kid who's growing up is dying to live his life. But as people get older, instead of dying to live, they start living to die. His closing thought is What are you dying for? Unable to escape this question, Pat invites readers to ask themselves, When my days on earth are over, will I discover that I have wasted my life on meaningless things that have no lasting and eternal value? Most people are living for four things: fortune, status, power, or pleasure. But there are four far more meaningful and satisfying reasons for living--and for dying. These give purpose and value to our lives, so that we can know our lives have eternal significance. If you died tomorrow, what would people say? Starting with Jesus's statement that whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for the gospel will save it, Pat gives a powerful, practical, and encouraging plan for how to live a life that truly matters and to leave a legacy that never dies.
Now more than ever the body of Christ must mature in the ways of the Spirit to fulfill God’s plan for His kingdom as the clock ticks steadily toward the return of Jesus Christ. The only way we will fulfill the Great Commission Jesus left us is to have both the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit and His power fully operating in our lives. The problem is most believers don’t know the difference between the two or how to walk in the fullness of all God has called us to do. In some ways, we’ve had things backwards and short-circuited God’s best. In Overflowing with the Holy Spirit, author Pat Harrison teaches about the dual role of the Holy Spirit in your life—to establish you first in the indwelling and then in the outpouring. The working of the Holy Spirit within matures you in holiness and oneness with Jesus. Then the outpouring comes upon you with power, ability, efficiency, and might to bless others. Understanding the two intertwined facets will help you walk in the fullness of both—until you’re overflowing with the Spirit in everyday life. Pat shares: Learning the ways of the Spirit From Soulish to Selfless How to walk in holiness How to walk in power and might Recognize the day
In his motivational and easy-to-read style, Pat Williams once again articulates the universal lessons to be learned from the world of sports. As an 'old QB,' I was reminded of my won experiences and the valuable lessons on the 'fields of friendly strife.' Anyone committed to being a part of a team or building a team must read The Magic of Teamwork." Jack Kemp, Vice President Candidate 1996 and Former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
Why are there wars?" "If I am really good, will I go to heaven?" "Why are some people mean to others?" Children have many questions! They deserve truthful answers to their questions. As they learn the truth, a foundation of understanding is being established that will last a lifetime. This book gives truthful answers in a concise way to stimulate thinking and conversation about many topics bothering children. What a confusing world our children are facing! Often, our efforts to make everything fun and easy simply confuse children all the more. The earlier in life children can understand answers to their questions, based on the Scripture, the easier their future will be. Children are constantly required to make decisions. Without the correct knowledge, how can they make the right decisions? My Thinking Book is designed for children to read for themselves or have it read to them. Unless otherwise noted, Scripture is taken from the New King James Version of the Bible. Although reading ability varies, generally, third-graders or above can read it. Parents may choose to read My Thinking Book to the children to provide a springboard for conversation. A parent would do well to make My Thinking Book available for every child!
Self-discovery can be an elusive process. Some people never fully express their true personalities because of obstacles from the past. Others float through life with a set of defense mechanisms that seem adequate until something happens to shake that pattern. In her groundbreaking work, Pat Wyman combines three psychological techniques to create a successful method of personal integration. The foundation of the work is a comparative exploration of how the MBTI? instrument, the Enneagram, and Inner-Child Healing can assist in self-discovery. In the end, it is a strikingly honest and poignant study of how a remarkable group of people dealt with tragedy and abuse, and how they achieved healing through intense introspection and the use of these three modalities. Courageous clients share their stories, poems, artwork, and letters, which are interwoven throughout the author's in-depth explanation of how to guide client's through this process.

After many months, weeks, and days of prayer, I asked the Lord to give me the best way to tell His children what He wanted them to know. On the last day of 2009, the title Truth of You came through. Each morning, Our Father and I would dialogue and an affirmation would be presented. On each Saturday a meditation was presented and was to be used on Saturday and Sunday. This book contains 262 affirmations and 52 meditations. If these affirmations are studied, believed, practiced, and meditated upon, the life of the individual using them will change. You will enter into a communion with our Father to become one with Him. You will come to love Him, and He will come to know you. You are where you are because of practice. Read Truth of You, and make this year the best year of your life.

VINCE LOMBARDI’S LEADERSHIP PRINCIPLES: • Envision a successful future ― then chart a course to get there. • Communicate your vision with passion and conviction. • Know the people you lead; find out what motivates each one. • Lead with character and integrity. • Inspire confidence through your competence and success. • Lead boldly, act decisively, don’t second-guess yourself. • Don’t just be a boss ― be a servant to your people.
Pat says though the vision of one person can change the world, no one can carry out a vision alone. Extreme dreams depend on teams, and lack of teamwork is often how big dreams go unrealized. Using examples and anecdotes from history and contemporary life, Pat shows how the greatest world-changing events came to be as the result of the passion of single individuals. In each case, a team was assembled with people equipped in the various areas needed to bring the vision to pass. Pat addresses team assembly, dynamics, and pitfalls to give readers guidance they can immediately apply to their own circumstances. Everyone is looking for ways to be more successful in life. Pat Williams serves up a book packed with practical help to get readers where they want to be.

This is a book of poems, written in two parts. The first part is general poems about many things from animals of all kinds to situations people find themselves in and even some funny problems. Also, there are a few philosophic poems. A few of the poems are based on nursery rhymes-3 or 4. The second part is written in the Japanese form of poetry called "Haiku" or "Senryu." It has only three lines and seventeen syllables. Count them. There are 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second, and 5 in the third. These poems are supposed to create one clear thought focusing each poem toward that thought. Haiku are Nature poems and Senryu are poems that focus on human emotions. Many thanks for looking at my book. I hope it gives you much pleasure. Grandma Pat.
Passion for Peach/My Dash By: Pat Schell Because author Pat Schell understood that we create our own life situations through our very thoughts, she began to probe and search for tools that would allow her to get very clear on this life process. Therein lies the story behind the book itself: how we implement spiritual tools into our daily lives. She knew that opposites MUST exist in order to move forward and make a life passionate and fulfilled. For how else can we distinguish between what is “GOOD” from what is “BAD”? More importantly, Pat asked the question: “What is MY PURPOSE in this lifetime?” She came to find out that everyone has the opportunity to choose. We choose our friends, choose our profession, choose our place on this planet that we feel comfortable residing, and, yes, we even choose those we love and those that we don’t! And, for EACH AND EVERY choice, we are held ACCOUNTABLE! Pat has been a truth seeker for many years. She considers her life as one that remains open and receptive to many new ideas: whether her own or those that are given to her by many friends and acquaintances. She is driven by motivation and inspiration. Many very important events in her life have brought her to a place of compassion and empathy. Early on, Pat wondered why we focus so much of our attention on our outer circumstances, leaving little or no time to go within. Understanding that we are born into a fearful environment, unless we are willing to face the unknown, it is most likely that THIS will be our way of life!
What do women want? Well, if Pat Murphy is to be trusted (and we’re not saying she is), women are looking for trouble. And in this collection of powerful stories, they find it — at an archeological dig in the Southwest, in the urban alleys, in California suburbs, in the old West, in ironic fantasy settings. Over the past 25 years, Pat Murphy has been writing stories that garner critical attention and win awards. Her work is difficult to categorize, living on the boundaries between genres. But her characters are easy to recognize. They are troublemakers, every last one of them.

What’s the one thing that defines your life and brings you the most good, the most love? Pat Gohn knows what her one thing is: “More than any single factor in my life, belonging to Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church has had the greatest impact on me. Faith gives meaning to everything in my life.” In this passionate and unapologetic account of why her faith in Christ and the Catholic Church are the source of meaning and joy in her life, Gohn—popular speaker, retreat leader, catechist, and author of Blessed, Beautiful, and Bodacious—invites you to become more confident in the power of the Catholic faith to transform your life as well. Being a cradle Catholic, cancer survivor, wife, and mother are all a part of Gohn’s story. But in this appealing, personal book, she shares why her relationship with Jesus and her confidence in his Church are so much bigger than her medical diagnosis, more powerful than her family history, and more significant than her career path. Gohn ardently shares why belonging to the Church will strengthen and nurture your relationship with God. It will keep you connected with Jesus and the sacraments—conduits of grace, forgiveness, healing, wisdom, and renewal. Belonging to the Church connects you to millions of others around the world, to the saints, and to your loved ones in heaven. These relationships are at the heart of Catholicism. In this time when life and society are so fragmented, the joy of belonging to a community—as imperfect as it can be—easily outweighs the agony of separation or isolation. Gohn’s confidence in her faith emerged despite and even out of a struggle with disillusionment. Working in a parish when news of the sex abuse scandals broke in Boston, she confronted heartbreak and anger within herself and her fellow parishioners. Yet she never left the Church and relates how she found a way to dig deeper and discover reasons to stay faithful. Each of the nine chapters identifies a dimension of the Catholic faith that is a source of Gohn’s confidence, including the Incarnation, God’s plan, the Fatherhood of God, the friendship of the Holy Spirit, and the love of neighbor. Each chapter also features reflection questions to challenge you.
With color commentary from his wife, the cofounder of the NBA's Orlando Magic offers unique insight into the best game plan for building a strong, secure, and successful marriage. (Relationships)

America’s favorite storyteller, Pat Conroy, is back with a unique cookbook that only he could conceive. Delighting us with tales of his passion for cooking and good food and the people, places, and great meals he has experienced, Conroy mixes them together with mouthwatering recipes from the Deep South and the world beyond. It all started thirty years ago with a chance purchase of The Escoffier Cookbook, an unlikely and daunting introduction for the beginner. But Conroy was more than up to the task. He set out with unwavering determination to learn the basics of French cooking—stocks and dough—and moved swiftly on to veal demi-glace and pâte brisée. With the help of his culinary accomplice, Suzanne Williamson Pollak, Conroy mastered the dishes of his beloved South as well as the cuisine he has savored in places as far away from home as Paris, Rome, and San Francisco. Each chapter opens with a story told with the inimitable brio of the author. We see Conroy in New Orleans celebrating his triumphant novel The Prince of Tides at a new restaurant where there is a contretemps with its hardworking young owner/chef—years later he discovered the earnest young chef was none other than Emeril Lagasse; we accompany Pat and his wife on their honeymoon in Italy and wander with him, wonderstruck, through the markets of Umbria and Rome; we learn how a dinner with his fighter-pilot father was preceded by the Great Santini himself acting out a perilous night flight that would become the last chapters of one of his son’s most beloved novels. These tales and more are followed by corresponding recipes—from Breakfast Shrimp and Grits and Sweet Potato Rolls to Pappardelle with Prosciutto and Chestnuts and Beefsteak Florentine to Peppered Peaches and Creme Brulee. A master storyteller and passionate cook, Conroy believes that “A recipe is a story that ends with a good meal.” “This book is the story of my life as it relates to the subject of food. It is my autobiography in food and meals and restaurants and countries far and near. Let me take you to a restaurant on the Left Bank of Paris that I found when writing The Lords of Discipline. There are meals I ate in Rome while writing The Prince of Tides that ache in my memory when I resurrect them. There is a shrimp dish I ate in an elegant English restaurant, where Cuban cigars were passed out to all the gentlemen in the room after dinner, that I can taste on my palate as I write this. There is barbecue and its variations in the South, and the subject is a holy one to me. I write of truffles in the Dordogne Valley in France, cilantro in Bangkok, catfish in Alabama, scuppernong in South Carolina, Chinese food from my years in San Francisco, and white asparagus from the first meal my agent took me to in New York City. Let me tell you about the fabulous things I have eaten in my life, the story of the food I have encountered along the way. . . ”
King Solomon transformed the tiny tribal nation of Israel into an economic and military superpower. His brilliance as an international financier made Israel the wealthiest nation of the ancient world. He led Israel into its Golden Age. And he did it with integrity. King Solomon left us twenty-eight profound leadership strategies--as valid today as when the proverbs were written. The same extraordinary wisdom that transformed Solomon's world can revolutionize every aspect of leadership for any CEO, manager, pastor, coach, military strategist, or government leader. In The Leadership Wisdom of Solomon, Pat Williams, senior vice president of the NBA's Orlando Magic, applies Solomon's ancient insights to the high-speed world in which we live. The study sections promote discussion and prompt immediate action.
These devotionals are intended to evangelize, educate, and inspire individuals to greater Christian growth. Some of them are used as tools in leading others to come to faith in God through Jesus Christ. They do not follow any theme throughout, so they are in no particular order. Users should choose one they deem appropriate for the occasion for which it will be presented. Use the titles as a guide to choose just the right one. These devotionals are used by some groups as a prelude to a Bible study class or as an opening, preceding a committee or board meeting, either for a religious group or a civil gathering. They are useful in nursing homes, pastors or auxiliary planning meetings, youth events, and campfire events. Some of the devotionals are appropriate to use for a short children's sermon. Travel groups enjoy a brief morning devotional before the day's activities begin, either in motel lobbies or on a travel bus. They also make great gifts for any occasion, such as graduations, birthdays, bridal showers, Christmas, Mother's Day/Father's Day, Pastor Recognition Sunday, or just a gift that says, "Thank you for all you do." Think about adding this book as kind of a "stocking stuffer" add-on with another gift appropriate for the occasion. Some individuals enjoy using the devotionals in this book for their own personal "closet time with the Lord." "These are written that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name" (John 20:31 KJV).
This book introduces many basics in the hope readers will pursue a deeper study to how their walk in the spiritual realm of their life can improve. Each of us has a personal place in the heart of the Father, and it is up to us to seek out our destiny, job, and responsibilities in His family business. The book shares many of the authors personal experiences with honesty and open candidness. She is not afraid to call it like she sees it. The world is suffering from lack of direction, and its time to wake up. We are not being taught the meat of the Word in most cases. Our society no longer expects accountability, and that has moved into the church. A church has become a social group and not a place of direction and healing. The topics addressed here are only starting points. There are incredible resources available today to enlighten us on every facet of life and study. The author has begun two of those resources that will be available in the future. One is addressing marriage and the broken promise I do. The second is taking a hard-line stand against the lack of leadership in the family and the church called crossing the line.

Abuse always gets worse . . . no matter how many times the abuser says he’ll change. Pat Michie has experienced all types of abuse, from physical to mental, sexual, and financial, while growing up, married, and, again, in two romantic relationships. From her abusers, she has lived a life of fear, a fear that changed who she was and a fear that forced her to make some decisions she regrets today. In Opening the Door, Pat shares her story of abuse to not only help her heal, but also in hope of helping others in abusive relationships and showing that the cycle of abuse can be broken. By revealing her truth, she hopes people will understand the different forms of abuse, how abuse can affect a victim, and what you can do, today, to overcome it. When she finally left her husband in 1987, after twenty-five years of severe abuse, some members of her family and community rejected her, not knowing what went on behind closed doors. Pat finally wants to open her door—and let people know the real her. “I am stronger because of my weaknesses, alive because I am a fighter, compassionate because I suffered, and wise because I was foolish. I laugh because I cried and love because I’ve known loss. I have weathered many storms and can now dance in the rain.”
