Her father’s marriage to this woman was the beginning of her painful journey through abuse and maltreatment. At a very young age, she experienced unreasonable beatings, unjust deprivation of affection and freedom, constant cruelty in many forms, and so much more that left her not only with physical bruises and scars, but also emotional blemishes and wounds that needed a great amount of time to heal. While lessons abound in this captivating memoir, readers will find themselves moved and inspired by the author’s life, the one she calls Life Before and After Stepmother, as they follow her from a childhood full of love that hastily shifted to full of soreness and affliction; to becoming a young responsible girl; to finding true love, living with prayer, embracing God, and allowing forgiveness a place in her heart; and to starting a new life with her loved ones.
