First-time author, Pamela Snyder, wrote the book, A King for all Time: David "" A Comprehensive Study, as the guide for her Bible study group. Ms. Snyder's goal was to simplify the biblical record, so that the average reader could fully understand and appreciate the subject matter. The book is the result of extensive research that treats the entirety of King David's life with the respect it deserves. The finished product is a documentary that begins with David's childhood and proceeds through the stages of his life, as recorded in the Old Testament books of 1 and 2 Samuel and Psalms.Be prepared to experience spiritual growth and God's blessings as you read and study the chronicle of David. This collection of real life experiences, detailed with historical facts, and practical lessons illuminates and encourages the reader. Clearly, David's life closely resembles our lives! Some common themes of the book: - Complex family dynamics - War strategy and survival - Struggle for power and position - God's plan and intervention David's reality was that affliction and despair would always exist. Yet his relationship with God sustained him with direction and joy. He found that God was always present, always interested, and always loving. Pamela Snyder has enjoyed a rewarding and varied career in nursing and is currently employed as a full-time nurse recruiter, hiring for the Veteran's Affairs health care workforce. For decades, Pamela Kaufman has entertained a loyal readership with the mesmerizing and often hilarious adventures of Alix of Wanthwaite, madcap medieval beauty. In Shield of Three Lions, the unflappable Alix braved the crusades dressed as a man to spar with the king of England over her birthright. Banners of Gold saw her taken hostage, drawn into a web of international politics, and entangled in the heartstrings of three different men. Now, The Prince of Poison finds Alix homeward bound at last, with a half-royal child in tow and an angry monarch on her trail. Set amidst the pomp and savagery of twelfth-century Europe, the Alix of Wanthwaite trilogy renders a glorious mishmash of ruffians, peasants, troubadours, murderers, pretenders, barons, princesses, and popes in charming and disarming detail. Alix’s bawdy, free-wheeling narration wickedly lampoons historical notables like Richard the Lion Heart and Eleanor of Aquitaine, spinning the historical novel in a fresh direction. This guide is designed to enhance your group’s discussion of Alix’s escapades in The Prince of Poison.

Can You Help A Brother Out" is not your average novel. Instead, it is a "novel" concept, a unique approach to assisting individuals, especially women, in understanding the urgency of supporting the maintenance of some men and the restoration of others, from every walk of life, saved and unsaved, to their rightful place in the body of Christ. In this brief but dynamic literary response to the burden for men, that was placed upon Evangelist Pamela Little by God, offers a simple solution to what some may deem impossible odds or circumstances. She emphasizes that the way to help a brother out of darkness and into the light is through the "effectual fervent prayer of the righteous." Evangelist Pamela Little and the D.O.Z.I.N. Ministry are interceding for all men according to the promises of God, and their expectation of Him. Come with D.O.Z.I.N. John Woodward is a young, dynamic, revivalist minister. He finds himself on the last leg of his summer tour, winding up the revivals in a small midwestern town. The first night of this last revival of the season brings him into contact with a girl. She invites him to come to her church and discuss his faith, ideas, and the Bible. What comes next leads John, and the reader, through an experience that is two thousand years old. What begins as a simple discussion of faith uncovers layers of religious ideas that John (and most of us) have lived with all of our lives. The girl (Sharon) sits in her garden and teaches John the meaning of life, and it is not what he expects it to be. Over the next five days John begins to unravel the mystery of the ages. He spends the rest of his life in this understanding. The young lady goes away after the revival, and John spends his life in solitude, serving, not being served. Sharon is not your typical "religious" book. You will find things in it that will frankly surprise you. If you are looking for "raptures" or "second comings" you will not find them here. What you will find in Sharon is a message that is two thousand years old, and you will find a message that is as new as the New Age Crystal shop down at the mall. In the same vein as the movie, Stigmata, the book is filled with mystic insights going back to the beginnings of Christianity, and beyond to other faiths. Sharon will not destroy your faith, it will build it; it will make it alive! Be sure to buy two copies of this book, because this is one you will want to give to a friend. The opening of this book is a visionary scene that challenges the reader, and the last page will shake you down to the core. Sharon is a must for this next century!
#MeToo. #ChurchToo. #pentecostalsisterstoo. Since 2018, hashtags and stories of sexual violence have appeared in all sectors of life from Hollywood to the Olympics; from politics to religion; from universities to seminaries; and among pentecostals. But amid all these stories of sexual abuse and assaults, one may wonder if any stories of healing from sexual violence exist. If so, what does healing look like, particularly among pentecostals who believe in divine healing? Is it a single prayer of faith or a conglomeration of healing factors? In true pentecostal form, See My Body, See Me systematically examines the healing stories of eight pentecostal survivors and the experiences of five pentecostal licensed counselors. It then combines these experiences of both males and females with Scripture, theology, psychology, and culture to provide a pentecostal perspective on healing from sexual violence. As a practical theological approach, See My Body, See Me also offers acts of ministry to provide healing spaces by way of three embodied praxes that are historically and theologically pentecostal: listening, waiting, and learning. See My Body, See Me is an invitation to participate in Christ’s healing ministry to see, hear, and believe survivors as God sees, hears, and believes them.

What Would Moses Say? is a carefully researched and crafted book. The author began with the premise that Moses's Law, in fact, much of Old Testament history, is nonbinding for today's believer. Her journey and findings brought a surprising revelation that all of God's word is useful for our spiritual growth. As she explored each of the Ten Commandments, the truth became even more clear. The moral principles that God had established as a standard for the Israelites still hold true for today. In fact, as society continues to break down with prevailing lawlessness, there has never been a better time than now to address our application of God's commandments. Could it be that a careless disregard for the obsolete law is the reason for the lukewarm state of many believers in the twenty-first century? Decreased church attendance, high divorce rates, disobedient children, loss of young adults to secular pursuits, and an absence of God's name in day-to-day conversation all characterize the problem. Could it be that good people who call themselves Christian could benefit from a deeper look at the Ten Commandments? According to the findings, the answer is yes! The evidence points to the need for a new or renewed relationship with God's appointed head of the church, Jesus Christ. There cannot be any substantial law keeping in the absence of the lawgiver. We must first love God (the first commandment) before we can love others. The worldliness of today's church has impacted Christianity as we know it. There is no other answer than to be unique and separate. This book was written for readers in all stages of their spiritual journey. It promises to be interesting, challenging, enlightening, and instructional. Use it for personal reading or a group study.
In the quiet time of my life in prayer and meditation, I felt impressed to write devotions. I had just brought my husband in from a long hospital stay after being diagnosed with congestion heart failure and staying in ICU I was very tired. I stayed so close to him. When doctors said he wasn't going to make it, I just kept praying and calling for prayer, going to the chapel, seeking God. When he began to get better, I knew then God was going to help him and give him more time, but I didn't stop praying. I continued on. Then we found out he had to be transferred to another hospital for an emergency surgery for a triple bypass, so I felt a lot of comfort from God and just kept on praying and asking for prayer and always calling for prayer, going to find the chapel, spending time in the quiet chapel on my knees, crying and praying. He was at that hospital for about a month. Finally, back to my home in the country, while I took care of him while he was asleep and resting. Throughout the day and evening, God laid it on my heart to write devotions. I realized I needed healing to after all that, and I had went through several hurts in life, so it got to be kind of healing for me to write devotions. Late in the evening, I would read some of them to my husband, Paul, and he liked them. I would write them only when I had quiet times. It began to bring healing in my life. My devotions are about my Christian raising growing up, like my parents, some about my family, which is about my kids and grandkids, faith-building scriptures and biblical stories, and about myself. I hope my book gives you more hope, love, faith, a stronger dedication, and a real seriousness of Jesus Christ. Love in Christ, Pam

As the Lord Jesus faced imminent death upon the Cross, He dedicated all His beloved disciples to a love relationship with His Mother saying, Behold your mother! St. John was present at the foot of the Cross, representing all mankind. And from that hour, he took her into his home. This commissioning of the Blessed Virgin Mary as Mother of all mankind illustrates the great love with which the LORD Jesus offered His life for all peoples - by giving us the gift of His mother. All are to comprehend that Mary has an active role to play in our faith and in our spiritual life. We acknowledge that this is how the LORD Jesus wished to bring His Sacrifice to completion by entrusting His mother to His beloved disciple, and in the beloved disciple to all mankind. It is a concrete maternal love relationship between Mary and all who trustingly commend themselves to her care. Under the watchful eye of Mary is a spiritual journey where we learn from the Blessed Mother of God what living a worthy discipleship in the LORD is, and we meditatively pray with the Blessed Mary as the first Christian Community did before Pentecost.
Owned by the Fire recounts one woman's personal journey. Pamela Benner shares her experience with heartfelt sincerity and truth. Her hope is that readers will understand the analogy found in several biblical passages, illustrating how God works in the lives of his people to purify them and bring forth their true character. Understanding the refiners fire, we can better appreciate the transformative work God does within us and the beauty that emerges. The refiners fire is not meant to punish or destroy us, rather to purify and strengthen us. This powerful biblical metaphor reminds us of the transformative work God does within us. As we face the challenges and trials of life, we can find solace and knowing that God is with us, working to purify and strengthen our faith. When we embrace the refiners fire and trust in God's purpose for our trials, we can experience true, spiritual growth and become more effective instruments in his kingdom. When we allow God to shape and mold us through the refining process, we will emerge as pure gold, shining brightly.

The Minor Prophets are those dozen Old Testament books that, in the time of Jesus, were usually written on one scroll since they were all fairly brief. The late Elizabeth Achtemeier prepared the New International Biblical Commentary on the first six: Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, and Micah. This second volume deals with the final six books. John Goldingay writes on Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, and Haggai; Pamela Scalise takes on the longest, Zechariah, and the last, Malachi. Like the authors of other volumes in the NIBC, Goldingay and Scalise utilize what is referred to as "believing criticism" when examining the biblical texts. Based on fidelity to critical analysis and sensitivity to the faith of both ancient and contemporary readers, this balanced approach enriches both the academy and the church. Following the series guidelines, the authors clearly explain the texts with additional notes regarding interpretation and "practical" reflection. For example, Goldingay issues a reminder that when the prophets spoke against the arrogance and sins of Assyria and Babylon, the Israelites needed to hear the word of God as a caution against their own pride and wickedness. He goes on to suggest that modern readers must remember, as well, that the same attitudes and actions that led to the downfall of these ancient Middle East empires can fall upon any and all who follow their example. The New International Biblical Commentary offers the best of contemporary scholarship in a format that both general readers and serious students can use with profit. Based on the widely used New International Version translation, the NIBC presents careful section-by-section exposition with key terms and phrases highlighted and all Hebrew transliterated. A separate section of notes at the close of each chapter provides additional textual, linguistic, cultural, and technical comments. Each commentary also includes a selected bibliography as well as Scripture and subject indexes.
³There was little danger of encountering the Bennet sisters ever again.² Jane Austen's classic novel Pride and Prejudice is beloved by millions, but little is revealed in the book about the mysterious and handsome hero, Mr. Darcy. And so the question has long remained: Who is Fitzwilliam Darcy? Pamela Aidan's trilogy finally answers that long-standing question, creating a rich parallel story that follows Darcy as he meets and falls in love with Elizabeth Bennet. Duty and Desire, the second book in the trilogy, covers the "silent time" of Austen's novel, revealing Darcy's private struggle to overcome his attraction to Elizabeth while fulfilling his roles as landlord, master, brother, and friend. When Darcy pays a visit to an old classmate in Oxford in an attempt to shake Elizabeth from his mind, he is set upon by husband-hunting society ladies and ne'er-do-well friends from his university days, all with designs on him -- some for good and some for ill. He and his sartorial genius of a valet, Fletcher, must match wits with them all, but especially with the curious Lady Sylvanie. Irresistibly authentic and entertaining, Duty and Desire remains true to the spirit and events of Pride and Prejudice while incorporating fascinating new characters, and is sure to dazzle Austen fans and newcomers alike.
Jesus invites you to open up the pages of this devotional to discover God's love, compassion, comfort, and provision for this season of grief in your life. He is in every one of these twelve widow stories written in the Word of God. The stories are true, and these women existed so you can hear their widow story speak to your heart to help heal and restore your loss as you turn to Jesus Christ, our Savior. God desires to meet with you personally on every page. He longs for you to turn to Him and hear His personal message of comfort for you in each passage. He draws near to you and hears your cry and will bring you up out of your sorrow. He will place your feet upon the rock of Jesus Christ, His Son, and help you take each step of faith. He will put a new song in your mouth so others will come to trust in the Lord because of your widow story. May the words of Psalm 40:1-3 speak to your heart and draw you to Him. And He inclined to me and heard my cry. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear, and will trust in the Lord.
In a major departure from previous scholarship, this volume argues that the illustrations in the famous and widely influential Utrecht Psalter manuscript were inspired by a late antique Hebrew version of Psalms, rather than a Latin, Christian version of the text. Produced during the early ninth century in a workshop near Reims, France, the Utrecht Psalter is illustrated with pen-and-ink drawings in a lively style reminiscent of Hellenistic art. The motifs are largely literal renditions of words and phrases found in the book of Psalms. However, more than three dozen motifs cannot be explained by either the Latin text that accompanies the imagery or the commentaries of the church fathers. Through a close reading of the Hebrew Psalms, Pamela Berger demonstrates that these motifs can be explained only by the Hebrew text, the Jewish commentary, or Jewish art. Drawing comparisons between the “Hellenistic” style of the Psalter images and the style of late antique Galilean mosaics and using evidence from recent archaeological discoveries, Berger argues that the model for those Psalter illustrations dependent on the Hebrew text was produced in the Galilee. Pioneering and highly persuasive, this book resolves outstanding issues surrounding the origins of one of the most extensively studied illuminated manuscripts. It will be mandatory reading for many historians of medieval art and literature and for those interested in the Hebrew text of the book of Psalms.
How to endure to the End deals with the necessary ingredients to help Christians endure through the storms of life. If you have ever thought if God would just tell me what I need to do I would do it, then this book is for you. God cant just tell people what to do like He did in the Old Testament because our beliefs, traditional teachings and our worldly brain actually keep us from hearing the truth. We no longer even recognize the works of the Holy Spirit or know how to seek interpretation to our dreams therefore hindering the communication between God and ourselves. This book is geared toward Christians who are seeking to grow in their faith. It is not directed to any particular denomination.
If we are blowing our Franciscan horn here, it should have been blown much earlier and much louder! This is the wisdom that our world so desires and needs today. We can no longer see ourselves as separate from the 'great chain of being,' and we can no longer see this as a non-religious issue. Francis intuited all of this 800 years ago. —Father Richard Rohr, O.F.M., Center for Action and Contemplation, Albuquerque, New Mexico Three of the greatest minds in Franciscan theology, Ilia Delio, O.S.F., Franciscan Keith Douglass Warner, O.F.M., and Pamela Wood, come together to discuss one of the greatest crises of our time—the destruction of the Earth. This book takes both a theological and practical approach to developing a Franciscan spirituality of the earth. Four sections highlight the distinct relationships creation has with the world: incarnation, community, contemplation and conversion. In this meticulously researched book, the authors propose ways in which we can all understand our own roles in relationship to the Earth and ways in which we can make it better. Each section offers reflective action opportunities designed to bring the book's ecological and theological insights into the reader's daily life and nurture a Franciscan spirituality of the earth. Prayers, meditations, spiritual practices and group activities are offered which provide a practical hands-on approach to reconnecting with the earth and acting in right relationship. "Earth, with all its creatures, is in crisis. And responding to this crisis will require every possible resource of our human community. One of the most precious of these resources is the Franciscan tradition. It is a joy to welcome this book as a wise, thoughtful, inspiring and practical contribution to ecological theology, grounded in ancient Christian tradition that sees Earth as our sister and mother. Care for Creation is part of a wider retrieval of Franciscan theology for our new time, but is unique in this blend of three interrelated disciplines, scientifically informed ecology, theology and the practice of reflective action." —From the Foreword by Denis Edwards

In 1980, Pamela Alexander and her husband, Jimmy, felt led by God to open a bed and breakfast and were led to Psalm 37 within a short time of that calling. Through this passage, they learned how to wait upon the Lord and how best to prepare and build a B&B. Meanwhile, they trained in the art of hospitality and grew in His wisdom. Thirteen years later, they opened the Alexander Bed & Breakfast Acres (ABBA). Trust without Borders presents an exploration of Psalm 37. In this study, Pamela examines how God wants us to trust Him with all of our being, showing that when we worship Him in that obedience, He blesses us abundantly with joy and peace. She reveals that trust is our gift back to God, and that He is pleased by the beauty of a trusting heart, and that trust demonstrates the meaning of living by grace rather than works. She also considers these questions: Is it trust only when we get our way? How do trust and entering His rest comingle? Why is gratefulness a foremost quality of a trusting follower of Christ? Join Pamela in fellowship and in study of Gods Word, and learn how to trust God with everything and every need of your life.
The motivation behind "Words of a Prodigal" I didn't set out to write a book writing was therapy for me. My life of an incarcerated person is very difficult not only on the person but on the family as well. All I can do here is think about everything I have done was wrong and ask God to forgive me for my sins. I began to write about a piece on "Restoration." That God indeed is a God of Restoration. So I put the issues down on paper, as I was doing so God gave me a solution from his Holy word. Jeremiah chapter 29:11. It will be able to help others and future the gospel, so naturally I was going to be obedient. After years of so much promise, I didn't want to return to a life of disobedient that I was suffering from addiction. I have done well and I'm not going back to life that made me ashamed. Thank God for forgiveness and mercy through my repentance. I related so much to the prodigal son, in which would have never come to fruition.
