Lawrence also recounts his amazing adventures in the Holy Land, touring many biblical and historical locations, providing the reader and his family with an extremely personal insight into these awe-inspiring sights. About the Author Mrs. Pam Williams Johnson was born to Diana and Lawrence Williams. She is a deaf and special education teacher, and in her free time is passionately involved in many genealogical societies, such as the Colonial Dames 17th Century, Society of Mayflower Descendants, Dames of Magna Charta, and the Plantagenet Society. Pam is married with two sons and four stepchildren. She currently resides in College Station, Texas.

In this study Runchana Pam Suksod-Barger examines the impact of religion on female access to education in Thailand from 1889 to 1931--the early Modernization Period in Thailand. Although Thailand had traditionally been a Buddhist nation-state, Protestant missionaries during this era arrived in the country to convert Thais to Christianity. The Protestant belief in literacy so that everyone could read the Bible opened up educational opportunities for Thai girls that were not previously available to them. Suksod-Barger investigates the degree to which Buddhist and Christian (Protestant) influences affected Thai educational reforms for girls in primary and secondary education during the early Modernization Period, using a feminist theoretical framework to understand the social, political, economic, and religious impact. Examination of historical documents and empirical data are employed to compare the effect of two religions' values on female education access. The study contributes to the exploration of the historical and contextual discourse of Buddhism and women in Thailand, the history of education for Thai females during the early Modernization Period, and the overview of Protestant missions in the country, particularly their influence in establishing systems of mass education.

Eisenhower embraced public relations as a necessary component of American democracy, advancing the profession at a key moment in its history. But he did more than believe in public relations—he practiced it. Eisenhower changed how America campaigns by leveraging television and Madison Avenue advertising. Once in the Oval Office, he maximized the potential of a new medium as the first U.S. president to seek training for television and to broadcast news conferences on television. Additionally, Eisenhower managed the news through his press office, molding the role of the modern presidential press secretary. The first president to adopt a policy of full disclosure on health issues, Eisenhower survived (politically as well as medically) three serious illnesses while in office. The Eisenhower Administration was the most forthcoming on the president’s health at the time, even though it did not always live up to its own policy. In short, Eisenhower deserves credit as this nation’s most innovative public relations president, because he revolutionized America’s political communication process, forever changing the president’s relationship with the Fourth Estate, Madison Avenue, public relations, and ultimately, the American people.
