Usually, the term „consciousness“ is associated with higher, cognitive performance. However, in the course of this dialogue the authors referred to by their chosen syntax and semantics, consciousness was assigned to in accordance with information-processing, as a principle of quantum physics. Everything, that exists in this world, that is all quantum objects, are in principle integrated into this process. Information, fluctuation and decoherence, entanglement and evolution included, have congruently been regarded as elementary. With these ingredients it is possible to produce a matter-containing reality in a 4-dimensional world. Consciousness is associated with something alive, imminently sensed by someone ́s life-experience. There is however evidence in the geological history of our Earth that inorganic matter existed earlier than living matter. A metric-free vacuum as a non-local physical field (not belonging to the space-time) contains nothing except the information that is equivalent to energy or matter. If, from a quantum-theoretical point of view, a kind of spiritual interaction of all quantum objects with the metric-free vacuum is possible, then the question compulsorily arises, whether not non-organic matter must have consciousness, too.
With regard to the sporadic form of Alzheimer's disease, a reduction to molecular-biological or genetic processes does not sufficiently contribute to the understanding of its development. Its pathogenesis only becomes clearer from an emergent perspective, a critical examination of the existing hypotheses on the development of the disease and the inclusion of fundamental scientific findings. Against an extremely complex background, the energetic factor stands out. The efficiency of some processes in cellular energy use and production points to principles of quantum information. The Great Lagoon is a central part of the Szczecin Lagoon, a major component in the Odra River estuary system. 1.1 Preface Organic chemistry had its origin in chemicals which are synthesized by living cells. These chemicals consist of molecules whose skeletons are built up of carbon atoms. The remaining valences are connected with ligands such as hydrogen, halo gens, -OH,==O, -NH . Some of the skeletal carbon atoms can be replaced by non 2 metals such as oxygen, nitrogen, or sulfur {"heteroatoms"}. It is characteristic for the living world, not to be in a crystalline state. However it is possible to obtain single crystals from many organic compounds both of natural and synthetic origin. For a number of years the physics and chem istry of these crystals have stimulated fundamental research on a rapidly growing scale. The great variety of possible organic structures {as compared to inorganics} opens up a large field of new materials and of novel material properties; for previous literature reviews and data compilations see 1-40) and Chap. 6. The art of producing good and pure organic single crystals has developed hand in-hand with the ever growing requirements of basic research, arising from its interest in fundamental interactions in the solid state.
