Ten Minute Scriptural, Earthy Sermons for the Contemporary Scene highlights the continued place of preaching in communicating the life and message of Jesus and the major contribution it makes to quality life. The forty chosen sermons are from various parts of the Bible (but mostly the Gospels) and are designedly brief in discussion. The questions following each sermon set out to encourage serious thought about individual belief and traditional doctrine, and how best to live.

This happened in Fiji, and the family traveled to the US to seek treatment. This book describes that treatment and the effects of the brain damage in extreme hyperactivity and epilepsy. The book sets out the strain on the family as they seek to cope as their lives unfold in two places—in the US and then in Australia.
This book realizes that there are many, many beliefs. It may be that through dialogue, a person can change their belief; however, the book suggests that this could be unlikely. The main thrust is that there can be outcomes from all beliefs that can lead to greater harmony in the world.
Noel Griese has written the definitive biography of public relations pioneer Arthur W. Page, whose father Walter H. Page with Frank N. Doubleday in 1900 created the publishing house of Doubleday, Page & Co. Arthur Page joined the firm as a reporter on the World's Work magazine after graduating from Harvard in 1905. In 1913, when his father was named U.S. ambassador to Great Britain, Arthur Page became editor of the World's Work. He remained with Doubleday until 1926 except for one break during World War I during which he served on the propaganda staff of Gen. John J. "Black Jack" Pershing. In 1927, he left Doubelday to become the public relations vice president of AT&T, then America's largest corporation. A close friend of Henry L. Stimson, Page during World War II headed the Joint Army and Navy Committee on Welfare and Recreation, which oversaw such morale activities as the American Red Cross, USO, Yank magazine, the Stars & Stripes newspaper, Army films and other activities. He went to England in 1944 to oversee troop information for the Normandy Invasion. In 1945, he wrote the news release announcing the first use of the atom bomb at Hiroshima. Page retired from AT&T at the end of 1946. From then until his death in 1960, he was an eminent public relations consultant and a founder of Radio Free Europe. Noel Griese's biography has been selected to the Knowledge Is Power short list of the best books ever written on the subject of public relations.
Much discussion of Protestant Christianity and its missions in the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries is focused on the work of English missionary William Carey and American Missionaries Adoniram and Ann Judson, who travelled to India in 1793 and 1813. This book reframes this conventional understanding of mission studies and outreach by exploring the legacy and life of the enslaved American Baptist George Liele (1750–1825)—the first African American ordained to the Christian ministry. Black Missionary in an Age of Enslavement looks at Christianity and mission through the life and times of Liele, highlighting his travels as an itinerant preacher in South Carolina, Georgia, Jamaica (and through his protégé there, David George), Nova Scotia, Sierra Leone and, toward the end of his life, England. Liele knew what it meant to be both slave and free. In Jamaica, as in Savannah, he was imprisoned for his faith and saw the survival of the church as pivotal. Liele was a man of firsts: the first African American ordained to the Christian ministry (May 20, 1775), and the first missionary to take the Christian gospel outside the United States. It was Liele, more than any other missionary, who initiated the practice of offering education to native people both enslaved and free. With the hymnal in one hand and the Bible in the other, Liele taught the enslaved and free that they were destined for liberation.
