In the spring of 1860 James Richmond left his home in Phelps, NY to start an adventure to the gold fields of California. In these pages you will find his own entries from his diary and the stories he told his friends and family about his travels, the sights he saw, and the people he met.
These are the stories my Grandmother wrote down to pass on to future generations. She loved to tell stories especially about family or the many adventures she had during her lifetime. Leaving high school to pursue a career in nursing against her mothers better judgement, Edna became an effective nurse during much of the 1900's.
