Four friends reveal moments in life, love, dating and friendship. Nick wishes he and Manny were together like the first time. He wants things to be as before but love hurts and it is hard to trust. In the meantime he drinks and tries to live up to the privilege of his family name. Dontae is after stardom. He is committed to his work and making money but committing to Drew is a different matter. He believes in love but marriage is a hard hill to climb. Gus loves music and wants to sing. He dreams of being a performer like his mother but what he longs for more than that is to see her again. Jack tries to balance work and time with Piere. All the hours at the hospital are good for their bank account but not the relationship. This summer the friends hope their dreams come true. Meanwhile Nick tries to make peace with himself. Dontae plans a party at the beach. Jack has get-togethers at the house. Gus gets a date.
Artificial neural networks and genetic algorithms both are areas of research which have their origins in mathematical models constructed in order to gain understanding of important natural processes. By focussing on the process models rather than the processes themselves, significant new computational techniques have evolved which have found application in a large number of diverse fields. This diversity is reflected in the topics which are subjects of the contributions to this volume. There are contributions reporting successful applications of the technology to the solution of industrial/commercial problems. This may well reflect the maturity of the technology, notably in the sense that 'real' users of modelling/prediction techniques are prepared to accept neural networks as a valid paradigm. Theoretical issues also receive attention, notably in connection with the radial basis function neural network. Contributions in the field of genetic algorithms reflect the wide range of current applications, including, for example, portfolio selection, filter design, frequency assignment, tuning of nonlinear PID controllers. These techniques are also used extensively for combinatorial optimisation problems.
Agent-based simulation has become increasingly popular as a modeling approach in the social sciences because it enables researchers to build models where individual entities and their interactions are directly represented. The Second Edition of Nigel Gilbert′s Agent-Based Models introduces this technique; considers a range of methodological and theoretical issues; shows how to design an agent-based model, with a simple example; offers some practical advice about developing, verifying and validating agent-based models; and finally discusses how to plan an agent-based modelling project, publish the results and apply agent-based modeling to formulate and evaluate social and economic policies.
This book has been compiled to provide details of tournament winners and runners up of USA soft tip dart tournaments. Every effort has been used to identify and correctly record winners and runners up of tournaments. In some cases there will be results “missing”. If these can be identified they will be included in a future edition. There maybe errors with names being mispelt and ladies surnames may have changed. Where possible, hosting organisation and the year that the tournament was first held will be listed. Other facts about the tournament will be listed if available. This book provides the reader and dart enthuiast information on other published books and magazines, links to web sites of dart manufacturers, Professional Bodies and Organisations, and dart stores. This is not a comprehensive list but begins the work of collating details into one place. Instead of being scattered around the World Wide Web across many sites and publications. I hope you enjoy the book.

As the economic reforms of the mid-1980s begin to take their toll on New Zealand's most vulnerable, Gina Tully, manager of Happy World hotel--a down-and-out residential hotel filled with rascals and eccentrics--must reconcile her social conscience with her need to keep her job. Emerging from this story about the downtrodden and disadvantaged is a celebration of human resilience that reminds us of the importance of intimacy and compassion.
