This book is my fourth anthology of poems with a sprinkling handful of short stories that I dedicate to my innermost "I." I celebrate with this book the true beginning of my poetic journey's one-year completion from April 2017 through April 2018. There is a flood of feeling that overflows all the time. Also, there are multiple passions rocketing inside the heart to soothe and calm. These emotions give birth to a spontaneous poetic itching that grabs me wholly.

In The Visceral Logics of Decolonization Neetu Khanna rethinks the project of decolonization by exploring a knotted set of relations between embodied experience and political feeling that she conceptualizes as the visceral. Khanna focuses on the work of the Progressive Writers' Association (PWA)—a Marxist anticolonial literary group active in India between the 1930s and 1950s—to show how anticolonial literature is a staging ground for exploring racialized emotion and revolutionary feeling. Among others, Khanna examines novels by Mulk Raj Anand, Ahmed Ali, and Khwaja Ahmad Abbas, as well as the feminist writing of Rashid Jahan and Ismat Chughtai, who each center the somatic life of the body as a fundamental site of colonial subjugation. In this way, decolonial action comes not solely from mental transformation, but from a reconstitution of the sensorial nodes of the body. The visceral, Khanna contends, therefore becomes a critical dimension of Marxist theories of revolutionary consciousness. In tracing the contours of the visceral's role in decolonial literature and politics, Khanna bridges affect and postcolonial theory in new and provocative ways.

This book explores identity-mediated dynamics of food and nutrition entitlement in urban India analysing concerns around equity, access to food and public health. The issues of disentitlement and identity dynamics when it comes to nutrition and health are more intricate in the urban context, due to a greater population and cultural diversity. While in the global north, urban food planning is increasingly dependent on local government, in developing countries urban nutrition is yet to be considered a serious policy issue. This book, with a disaggregated analysis for urban India and an in-depth case study of Mumbai, examines how malnutrition in India is becoming an urban challenge. It discusses how far caste, religion and migratory identities serve as a source of deprivation and analyses the role of local governance, particularly municipal governance and urban planning, in facilitating the disentitlement. This book utilizes the School to Work Transition Survey (SWTS) of the ILO to discuss what shapes an individual worker’s decision to participate in unionization and how her working condition is affected by that.. There remains a disconnect as far as our understanding of the relationship between the labour’s choice to unionize as individual actor and the broader socioeconomic, political and cultural context of that choice, is concerned.Using the SWTS data, the book focuses on the identification of the correlates of workers’ propensity to unionize, the outcomes of unionizing and their synthesis with the wider political economy context to arrive at stylized patterns in the way informal workers exercise their agency.The book also reflects upon field data on organizing challenges of migrant workers in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic in India. The book does not claim to establish any causality but is interested in bringing out broad patterns that define informal workers’ organizing in a particular context. In the process, the book ends up with the preposition that despite all the heterogeneities across regions, informal workers’ organizing today can be understood through the lens of pragmatism.

Hills are beautiful and often regarded as the paradise on earth. They have both ecological as well as aesthetic significance. Any man made structure constructed on hills have impact on ecology and its aesthetic values. Hence, it is desirable for the architects and designers to keep intact these values and provide a sustainable and compatible solutions. Moreover, Designing and constructing a building on the hill slope have always been an uphill task, due to the challenging topography. Adverse climatic conditions, steep gradient, rich flora and proneness to natural hazards. Though the traditional buildings responded well to these challenges, the modern buildings fail to do so. At the same time, with the growth these hill towns are expanding with addition of many new topologies and functions of the buildings. Since, these buildings cater to needs of the present day, they are coming up very fast, so the number of those structure is very high, moreover this physical built up is not contextually appropriate which as a result changes the whole character of these hill towns. Moreover, the new buildings are not only climatically uncomfortable but these buildings stand out visually and does not fit with the existing architecture and landscape character for which the hill towns are known for. This scenario is visible in all the hill town from Mannar to Kashmir, including Himachal which is known for its traditional architecture.

Precisely, the development of numerous wireless communication systems and applications have triggered the all-time high demand for wideband, low profile and unidirectional antennas that can accommodate various wireless communication applications while exhibiting good electrical characteristics, including stable gain, wide impedance bandwidth, low cross-polarization and low back lobe radiations across the entire range of frequency operation. Many designs have been proposed in the literature to accommodate various wireless communication applications with enhanced antenna parameters.
Document from the year 2021 in the subject Engineering - Communication Technology, grade: A, Manipal University, language: English, abstract: This book presents the proposal for the novel designs of the wideband Magneto-Electric (ME) dipole antenna for various applications in wireless communication. The standard ME dipole consists of a planar dipole, which acts like an electric dipole, and a vertically oriented quarter wave shorted patch, equivalent to a magnetic dipole. The research demonstrates the good electrical characteristics for the proposed designs of the wideband ME dipole antenna and shows low cross-polarization radiations, stable antenna gain across the operating frequency band and almost identical radiation patterns in the E- plane and H-plane. Literature confirms the design of the ME dipole antenna as linearly polarized, circularly polarized or differentially fed antenna and this thesis presents five novel structures of ME dipole antenna for applications like airborne radar, Ultra-Wide Band (UWB), mobile communication and satellite communication. After examining a number of feeding techniques designed to enhance the impedance bandwidth of ME dipole antenna, which includes co-axial-to-patch probe feeding, transition of microstrip-to-parallel strip line feeding, differential feeding, the book presents all the novel designs using co-axial probe feeding.
