Large Covariance and Autocovariance Matrices brings together a collection of recent results on sample covariance and autocovariance matrices in high-dimensional models and novel ideas on how to use them for statistical inference in one or more high-dimensional time series models. The prerequisites include knowledge of elementary multivariate analysis, basic time series analysis and basic results in stochastic convergence. Part I is on different methods of estimation of large covariance matrices and auto-covariance matrices and properties of these estimators. Part II covers the relevant material on random matrix theory and non-commutative probability. Part III provides results on limit spectra and asymptotic normality of traces of symmetric matrix polynomial functions of sample auto-covariance matrices in high-dimensional linear time series models. These are used to develop graphical and significance tests for different hypotheses involving one or more independent high-dimensional linear time series. The book should be of interest to people in econometrics and statistics (large covariance matrices and high-dimensional time series), mathematics (random matrices and free probability) and computer science (wireless communication). Parts of it can be used in post-graduate courses on high-dimensional statistical inference, high-dimensional random matrices and high-dimensional time series models. It should be particularly attractive to researchers developing statistical methods in high-dimensional time series models. Arup Bose is a professor at the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India. He is a distinguished researcher in mathematical statistics and has been working in high-dimensional random matrices for the last fifteen years. He has been editor of Sankhyā for several years and has been on the editorial board of several other journals. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, USA and all three national science academies of India, as well as the recipient of the S.S. Bhatnagar Award and the C.R. Rao Award. His first book Patterned Random Matrices was also published by Chapman & Hall. He has a forthcoming graduate text U-statistics, M-estimates and Resampling (with Snigdhansu Chatterjee) to be published by Hindustan Book Agency. Monika Bhattacharjee is a post-doctoral fellow at the Informatics Institute, University of Florida. After graduating from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, she obtained her master’s in 2012 and PhD in 2016 from the Indian Statistical Institute. Her thesis in high-dimensional covariance and auto-covariance matrices, written under the supervision of Dr. Bose, has received high acclaim.
This book explores the ways in which non-state actors (NSAs) in South Asia are involved in securitizing non-traditional security challenges in the region at the sub-state level. South Asia is the epicentre of some of the most significant international security challenges today. Yet, the complexities of the region’s security dynamics remain under-researched. While traditional security issues, such as inter-state war, border disputes and the threat of nuclear devastation in South Asia, remain high on the agendas of policy-makers and academics both within and beyond the region, scant attention has been paid to non-traditional or ‘new’ security challenges. Drawing on various case studies, this work offers an innovative analysis of how NSAs in South Asia are shaping security discourses in the region and tackling security challenges at the sub-state level. Through its critique of securitization theory, the book calls for a new approach to studying security practices in South Asia – one which considers NSAs as legitimate security actors. This book will be of much interest to students of security studies, Asian security, Asian politics, critical security studies, and IR in general.

Biofortification is a widely accepted cost-effective agricultural strategy to improve the nutrient deficiency in populations. It is especially useful in low income and developing nations. Strategies for biofortification employ crop breeding, targeted genetic alteration, and agronomy, show promise for addressing multiple forms of human malnutrition. To increase the bioavailability of food nutrients, biofortification efforts must focus on improving the nutrient content of food and decreasing anti-nutrients. This book covers the basics of biofortification, international efforts, challenges, opportunities, and the use of the latest omics technologies in addition to classical approaches. It covers the most studied micronutrients, vitamin biofortification, and the new topics in dietary fibers, starch quality, and phenolics. It uniquely covers the antinutrients like phytic acid, ODAP, and Glucosinolates. It also reviews food bioavailability, scientific research, and meta-analyses to assess the health-promoting efficacy of different nutrients. The book attempts to cover all bases, from decision considerations to prospects, as well as biofortification of nutrients, antinutrient reduction, and the use of latest technology to aid in the nutritional enhancement of virtually all recorded food crops.

About the book Law relating to Wills has evoked curiosity amongst Judges, lawyers and law students alike. This book offers exhaustive commentary on principles governing this law and illustrates them with contemporary case laws. The book does not contain many judicial authorities of colonial period which have lost relevance in current times, but it does examine the relevant pronouncements. The book discusses concepts which are fundamental to exercise of testamentary jurisdiction, in detail which often engages courts. Four chapters elaborate on law relating to execution and proof of Will. Three chapters are devoted to discussing law relating to grant of probate and letters of administration. Concept of revocation of Will and revocation of probate and letters of administration has been discussed in one chapter each. Other aspects of law, which do not much invite much attention of courts like construction of Will, jurisdiction of court, powers and duties of executors and administrators, void bequest, vesting of legacy, contingent bequest, conditional bequest etc. have also received their due share in the book. Authors have discussed novel concepts like 'Living Will' in this book.
Ever wondered what life is? What does it mean to be alive? Why did we came into this world and where are we heading? There are so many questions we ask ourselves every now and then. We try to answer them through our perspective but every time when things change, when we step upon something new, when we change our perception it forces us to rethink about all the answers.
