Delightfully unfussy meatless meals from the author of Moosewood Cookbook! With The Moosewood Cookbook, Mollie Katzen changed the way a generation cooked and brought vegetarian cuisine into the mainstream. In The Heart of the Plate, she completely reinvents the vegetarian repertoire, unveiling a collection of beautiful, healthful, and unfussy dishes—her “absolutely most loved.” Her new cuisine is light, sharp, simple, and modular; her inimitable voice is as personal, helpful, clear, and funny as ever. Whether it’s a salad of kale and angel hair pasta with orange chili oil or a seasonal autumn lasagna, these dishes are celebrations of vegetables. They feature layered dishes that juxtapose colors and textures: orange rice with black beans, or tiny buttermilk corn cakes on a Peruvian potato stew. Suppers from the oven, like vegetable pizza and mushroom popover pie, are comforting but never stodgy. Burgers and savory pancakes—from eggplant Parmesan burgers to zucchini ricotta cloud cakes—make weeknight dinners fresh and exciting. “Optional Enhancements” allow cooks to customize every recipe. The Heart of the Plate is vibrantly illustrated with photographs and original watercolors by the author herself.
TILL DEATH DO THEM PART . . . Doran Fairweather and her husband, ex-vicar Rodney Chelmarsh, are both secretly relieved when she decides to sublet a friend's London apartment for a while. Maybe the separation will put the spice back into their relationship. But the flat is depressing, her maid is strangely intimidating, and the flat's owner is horribly murdered beside the Thames. Then, in a pre-Tudor house with a curse upon it--owned by a wonderful man who might have stepped out of Shakespeare--Doran discovers another world. There, an unbroken connection with the past is so compelling that an oath of revenge sworn when Richard III ruled England still exerts its evil power . . . even over Doran's innocent loved ones deep in the peaceful English countryside.
Once known for its cotton production and Jersey cows, Cleburne has evolved from its agricultural heritage into a diverse community. This former Civil War training camp, located near Buffalo Creek, was named for Confederate general Patrick Cleburne when it became the county seat in 1867. Just west of town, cowboys moved cattle up the Chisholm Trail before the Santa Fe Railway brought jobs and money in 1881. As lieutenant commander of the navy dirigible USS Akron, Charles Rosendahl soared over his childhood home of Cleburne in 1932. From early opera and movie houses, saloons, and congested trade days, to live theaters, parks, and modern industries, Cleburne continues to progress. Today a new economy and booming growth have emerged due to the Barnett Shale gas exploration.
The Moosewood Cookbook has inspired generations to cook simple, healthy, and seasonal food. A classic listed as one of the top ten best-selling cookbooks of all time by the New York Times, this 40th anniversary edition of Mollie Katzen's seminal book will be a treasured addition to the cookbook libraries of fans young and old. Several iterations and millions of copies later, the Moosewood Cookbook has become one of the most influential and beloved cookbooks of all time—inducted into the James Beard Award Cookbook Hall of Fame, and coined a Cookbook Classic by the International Association of Culinary Professionals. Mollie’s Moosewood Cookbook has inspired generations to fall in love with plant-based home cooking, and, on the fortieth anniversary of that initial booklet, continues to be a seminal, timely, and wholly personal work. With a new introduction by Mollie, this commemorative edition will be a cornerstone for any cookbook collection that long-time fans and those just discovering Moosewood will treasure.
But there are many things in the novel that make it important to early Texas writing. The Juneteenth scene with its interesting Centre Figger captures a part of folklore not often seen. And the flavor of life just north of the Texas Gulf Goast is rarely captured in fiction.".

Many books have been written concerning the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Theologians debate whether His return will occur pre, mid, or post tribulation, but is it as important to discern when He will return as it is to be ready when He does? New Testament scriptures ascribe Jesus as the Bridegroom and Church age believers as His bride. The bride is eagerly awaiting her Bridegroom to carry her away from this present age of evil, but God’s Word tells us this will not happen until the bride is made ready. The Bible teaches three characterizations of the true bride of Jesus Christ. The true bride has left the world behind to become a follower of Jesus. The true bride places God first before self and others. The true bride lives a holy life and waits expectantly for her Bridegroom’s return. Jesus taught perilous times would come, and apostacy (abandonment of faith) would precede His return. It is God’s will that all men come to a saving knowledge of His Son, but scripture tells us this will not happen. Only those who have persevered in faith and look to the completion of their salvation will escape the future events of the great tribulation. Come, journey with me into ancient history to examine the rituals of ancient Jewish marriage customs and their prophetic meaning to the Lord Jesus and His second coming. God has given us His Word so we not only know who He is, but know who we are.
