Criminal Law and Constitutional Law in Malaysia: A Comparative Approach is a solid, application-oriented text for students taking law subjects. Many new features make this edition a richer and stronger learning resource for students. Several factors motivated the authors to write this book. After having the experience in legal field and teaching for more than 10 years, it became clear that there was a definite need for more detail materials in this area. In addition, there was need for a book which would give full recognition to an easier method and the authors felt it was time for a text which would develop the ideas and methods with this in mind. This book covers a thorough discussion of the development of law in Malaysia; especially criminal and constitutional law matters. A major audience for the book will be students studying the law subjects. The order of topics, however, provides a degree of flexibility, so that the book can be of interest to different readers through basic concepts until the advanced concepts (i.e. the discussion of the cases). The purpose of this book is to take the readers on an introduction to Malaysian Criminal and Constitutional Law by which the meaning of such subject at basic level is better understood. Hopefully, this book can be benefited by the readers in their journey to success.

Risk-sharing investment is currently the buzz word in Islamic finance. However, there is an incongruence in applying multilayered and opaque Tijarah contracts for investment purposes. This has contributed to the divergence between Shariah and Common Law and caused tremendous problems and systemic legal risks to Islamic finance. The authors of Shariah Investment Agreement introduce a legal tool in the form of a Shariah Investment Agreement carefully drafted to ensure that it is Shariah-compliant and can be applied in Common Law jurisdictions as well, so as to allow for the execution of risk-sharing investment in Islamic finance. It details the building blocks and key considerations that must be noted when drafting such agreements so the investor and investee will know what to expect when entering into such a contract. Proper implementation of the Shariah Investment Agreement will pave a clear route to a harmonious convergence between Shariah and Common Law and lead to Islamic finance developing further to become a stronger, unstoppable force in the finance industry.
The growth of Islamic finance today is undeniable given its services, product innovation, performance and achievements, with the Islamic insurance market being no exception; it has retained global market recognition in a parallel platform as Islamic finance moves forward. There is much written regarding the Islamic insurance system, but rarely do researchers present the various Islamic insurance products and their structures in one collective place. This book is a timely addition in meeting contemporary market demands by providing a much-needed overview of the Islamic insurance products and their Shari’ah compliant structures. This book would be of interest to academics, researchers, students and professionals who are seeking to understand the products offered.
The hajj calls Muslims to journey to Mecca from wherever they are across the world. Of the far-flung communities one of the largest is that of the Muslims of Southeast Asia, and within that region in times past, one of the principal centres for hajj transit and transport was Singapore. If modern air travel bridges continents within hours, before the 1970s, pilgrim travel from Southeast Asia was by sea, and distance and difficulties were far more strongly felt. Hajj pilgrims then might take a lifetime to save for the journey, so a great many were old and frail, yet no real records remain and very few personal accounts exist of the experience, the tests, or fears along the way, of the time spent under sail or by 'steam.' This book sets out to describe the development of hajj shipping and the historical place of Singapore in this network. And, through anecdotes and comparisons, images and maps, to paint a picture of what this hajj journey by sea entailed and, in that sense, to offer a kind of 'human face' to the journey.Related Link(s)
Ibn Taymiyyah is one of the best-known figures of medieval Islam. He has also been seen as the initiator of the idea of reformation in the Muslim world in the 13th century. His views on many social problems of his age reflect a pragmatic orientation, and in consequence his impact on succeeding generations has been profound. Though there are some studies of Ibn Taymiyyah’s life and works, they have failed to focus adequately on his jihād and baghy concepts and theories. Therefore, this book aims to: • contribute to the study of early Islamic political thought • consider how the terms jihād and baghy have developed and been expanded from the structure established by the Qur’an and hadith • examine the relationship between jihād and baghy in Islamic law • reveal the pivotal role of the imām in politics • explain why Ibn Taymiyyah upheld jihād against the Mongols, the Franks and the heretic Shi‘ah Referring to all those discussions, this book undoubtedly is an essential text for those who are interested in understanding the relationship between Ibn Taymiyyah’s concepts of jihād and baghy. The book contains twelve essays on topics related to the subject “Media and Muslim Society.” It is compiled as a textbook for students taking the course of the same title at the International Islamic Universiti Malaysia. Thus, the topics selected are those covered in the course. The topics include media at various stages in the development of a Muslim society, the role of communication in a Muslim society, media control, media effects on Muslim society and the roles of ulamas in influencing the media. A special topic on Muslim society is also included at the beginning of the book. The contributors of these essays are experts in their field. They have also helped developed and taught the course. The book outlines firstly how architects must not ignore the values and rituals of the modern society that is strongly rooted in the traditional and religious beliefs of their race and culture. The modern rituals of the society interpreted within a democratic framework as well as the forces of economy will give many new ideas for spaces and forms to the designers who are concerned about building a nation through the design of structures and buildings. This book provides a more progressive outlook on how architecture can be creatively and meaningfully interpreted to provide the nation with a new and exciting useful architecture and an element that can be taken pride of by all the cultures of the citizenry. The first section deals with the idea of the community and its values as it impinges upon the planning and design of housing. The second section deals with relooking at how a national iconic symbol should be one that is inclusive and not exclusive of a single dominant culture. The third section presents a stirring criticism of clich Islamic architecture that is exclusive, regressive, and wasteful. The book outlines some new perspective that can be taken in order to initiate a total revamp of Islamic architecture more suited to a civilized and inclusive society. The fourth and final section presents new directions in the architecture of educational institutions that would emphasize the students more than the administration.

Why I wrote this book? I have been contemplating and procrastinating writing this handy book. The reason: to write into words of wisdom and touching the hearts of men is like moving a huge mountain across a vast ocean of deep water. I can’t imagine the hardships on that day faced by disbelievers when their heads lowered in disgrace and shame for the non-compliance worshipping not the real God who created the universe. And worse living this life in arrogance and transgress against the Lord. They think that wealth guarantees this worldly life and want to live if possible a long life. Some doesn’t know the reason of creations and the test to justify faith and prove of eligibility to enter paradise. And worse ignorant of what will happen after death, what happen after the soul separates from the body. The disbelievers suddenly realized the danger awaiting them. People waited to cross the bridge in fear, some people drop from the cliff engulfed and surrounded by blazing fire. May Allah protect us from hell fire. Arthritis represents one of the most prevalent chronic health problems and is a leading cause of disability. The term 'arthritis' is derived from the Greek: "arthron" meaning "joint" and "its" meaning inflammation. It refers to more than 100 different types of arthritis conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, pseudogout, psoriatic arthritis, and fibromyalgia to name a few. Arthritis is a term that encompasses over 100 kinds of rheumatic diseases that affect an estimated 15%% of the U.S. population (Lawrence et al 1998).
Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), published by the United Nations in 1948, states that “everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.” Malaysia recently won its bid to sit on the United Nations Human Rights Council from 2022 to 2024. However, while the country’s constitution is progressive in underlining the rights of religious minorities, this is severely lacking in practice as it exercises heavy regulation on religion, combined with restrictions on the practices of certain faiths. Based on interviews and focus group discussions conducted in Malaysia, this paper uncovers the challenges faced by religious minorities in the country, and how treatment of them at the hands of religious authorities is illustrative of encroachments on their right to the freedom of religion. The groups that will be focused on are the Millah Ibrahim (Abrahamic Faith), the Baha’i faith, and the Ahmadiyah faith, all of which have been banned by the religious authorities. It was found that the three groups navigate their respective situations differently. For example, Millah Ibrahim adherents are very conscious of the repression that they face, and have resorted to propagating their teachings in secret and migrating to countries that are more lenient towards them. On the other hand, the Baha’i community feel they have relative freedom to practise their rituals despite the fatwa which bans their movement, and therefore do not see the need to take legal action against the authorities. This is in contrast to the Ahmadiyah adherents who use legal means (such as court cases) to counteract the repression towards them. Considering the precarious position of these groups, it is recommended that religious authorities engage with these minority groups so as to deepen their understanding of these groups and to properly assess the perceived threat that they allegedly pose. Such engagement would also allow Malaysia to uphold its commitment to human rights.
This book aims to introduce Islam and Muslims in South Korea to non-Korean readers of history, especially given the increasing popularity of Korean culture, particularly in the music and entertainment industries. This study therefore provides insights into the existence of the Muslim community in South Korea, something that is unknown to many and also on the challenges and problems facing both Korean and foreign Muslims in South Korea. It has been more than half a century since the end of the Korean War in 1953 when Islam first established its foothold in South Korea, yet to date only about 0.02% of its population is Muslim (about 45,000 South Korean Muslims) while the number of foreign Muslims continue to increase, reaching about 200,000 in number. Using a qualitative approach and interviews with Korean Muslim individuals, this study provides information on how Islamic da'wah was carried out in South Korea, the factors contributing to the spread of Islam, and challenges facing the da'i in performing da'wah. Moreover, this study also provides information on several Muslim countries, Muslim organisations and the individuals involved in da'wah activities in South Korea, especially with regard to their efforts and contributions.

This book is intended to present a compilation of research that bas incorporated the Islamic philosophical, theoretical, and historical perspective with the concepts, theories, and methods in psychology. While the relationship between Islam, research, and psychology has been studied previously, the effort to incorporate, integrate, and use Islamic resources to examine phenomena related to psychology through rigorous scientific methods has been found to be lacking among Muslim researchers. The present book, therefore, is an attempt to meet this need by incorporating the Islamic perspective in the conduct of research in psychology. It is also an attempt to contextualize Islam in the current efforts in research on psychology so that we can better understand the religion, both as an established way of life and as a model of scientific inquiry. Finally, the remaining chapters are dedicated to the discussion of the conceptual and strategic way forward for research in specific areas of psychology. In doing so, both the rationale and practicalities of incorporating, integrating, and utilizing Islamic resources in research on psychology have been provided.

This book is a series of Muslims and reverts guidance to understand more about Islam. It is written to talk about challengers facing Muslims, some relevant tips, and solutions. The best book is to write a simple book without technical jargons and heavy concepts. The author will do his best to show evidence, such as verses from the Quran and hadith. The author also inserts some questions and replies to create an interactive book. However, with humiliation and respect the author feels there are much better book then this small book. Why I wrote this book? Turning my head around, I noticed some young and older Muslims neglecting obligatory prayers. I even ask them their reason for not performing prayers. Some excuses as usual. Oh, I think my cloth is filthy, some said: I am tired. And the quotes of excuses become more and more. By the time you know it, neglecting prayer is normal and that Muslim has no feelings or a sense of guilt. Something is wrong somewhere. Sometimes words of wisdom and advice has been said to the man who neglected prayers, but he never takes heed of advice, so perhaps I need to change a different approach to send the message to him, but if the Muslim and revert is across a vast ocean. Thus, this e-book is the only message that I can help him. But bear in mind that a person cannot give guidance but only Allah SWT may open his heart to witness truth by repenting from his sins of neglecting prayers. Content 1-Why some Muslims neglected prayers 2-What happen to the Muslims 3-Seek knowledge 4-Be pious 5-What’s life in comparison to the hereafter? 6- Why Allah commands us to pray 7- What’s the mindset? 8- Is prayer obligatory 9- What if a person delayed prayer? 10- How to take ablution 11- How to perform prayer correctly? 12- A person died and needed to repay his prayers 13- How to repay neglected prayers? 14- I didn’t pray but fast in the month of Ramadhan, what should I do? 15- The importance of congregation prayers 16- Diligent in prayer but committing immorality 17- Why supplication of a Muslim not granted by ALLAH SWT? Words from the Author “After reading this book you will have a sense of purpose to turn into a new leaf. We hope this small handy book has led you to the basic discovery of Islam.
