Dalila est une jeune orpheline tanzanienne témoin d'un drame odieux. Vous allez me dire, ce n'est pas terrible pour commencer à franchir les obstacles d'un début d'existence. Mais en plus d'être spectatrice de cet acte ignoble, elle se retrouve détentrice d'un secret (et d'une promesse associée) qui l'oblige en son âme et conscience à voyager vers Paris quoiqu'il se passe. Vous êtes d'accord, elle ne se facilite pas du tout la vie d'autant plus qu'elle se fait accompagner par un drôle de vieux paysan ougandais aussi bougon que naïf, Moses. Ça serait à mourir de rire si les gens nombreux rencontrés sur le chemin du couple ne s'en mêlaient pas pour des raisons impérieuses toutes très différentes. Mais quel est donc ce secret inavouable ? Et pourquoi ces hommes et ces femmes se démènent-ils tant pour l'aider ou lui mettre des bâtons dans les roues ? Tout à la fois aventure humaine et leçon de vie : ce conte noir moderne ne vous laissera pas indifférent !
