So many Christians take Jesus for granted, and so many people do not understand His torment and the suffering He endured for us. We began a spiritual journey when we enter this world. We have a natural body and a world full of responsibilities to challenge us on our journey. We are influenced by many outside sources and personal interactions with our family members and friends. Ultimately, we make the most important decision of our life. Do we believe in God and accept Jesus as our Savior, or do we reject God and accept atheism? When you analyze the facts of the life of Jesus, his loving teachings, his horrible suffering, death and miraculous resurrection, you come to understand He did it for you. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. His teaching brings light into your life. Jesus is the gateway to eternal happiness when we leave this world. Atheism with its evil influence wants to drag you down and have you reject God. Atheists are in total denial about God, Jesus, supernatural experiences, something from nothing, and the wisdom in the formation of this universe and mankind. Atheists want you to believe you will simply rot in the ground and accept life with no future hope. If you are an atheist, don't laugh at this thought and concern. As a Christian, I care for you and your soul. That is certainly more than what the atheistic thinking has in mind for you. Atheism, under the influence of Satan, offers you nothing but the door way to eternal conscious separation from God. This book is a direct challenge to the thoughts and beliefs of the atheist. I wrote this book with the hope it just might stir the mind of a non-believer. Then believing the Holy Spirit will do the rest.

Many studies of the neural bases of language processes are now conducted with functional and structural neuroimaging. Research is often compromised because of difficulties in identifying the core structures in the face of the complex morphology of these regions of the brain. Although there are many books on the cognitive aspects of language and also on neurolinguistics and aphasiology, Neuroanatomy of Language Regions of the Human Brain is the first anatomical atlas that focuses on the core regions of the cerebral cortex involved in language processing. This atlas is a richly illustrated guide for scientists interested in the gross morphology of the sulci and gyri of the core language regions, in the cytoarchitecture of the relevant cortical areas, and in the connectivity of these areas. Data from diffusion MRI and resting-state connectivity are integrated iwth critical experimental anatomical data about homologous areas in the macaque monkey to provide the latest information on the connectivity of the language-relevant cortical areas of the brain. Although the anatomical connectivity data from studies on the macaque monkey provide the most detailed information, they are often neglected because of difficulties in interpreting the terminology used and in making the monkey-to-human comparison. Historically, the major emphasis on the study of purinergic systems has been predominantly in the areas of physiology and gross pharmacology. The last decade has seen an exponential in crease in the number of publications related to the role of both adenosine and A TP in mammalian tissue function, a level of interest that has evolved from a more molecular focus on the identity of adenosine and A TP receptor subtypes and the search for selective ligands and development of radioligand binding assays by Fred Bruns and colleagues (especially that for A receptors) that played z a highly significant role in advancing research in the area. In the 60 years since adenosine was first shown to be a potent hypotensive agent, a considerable investment has been made by several pharmaceutical companies-including Abbott, Byk Gulden, Takeda, Warner-LambertlParke Davis, Boehringer Mann heim, Boehringer Ingelheim, Nelson/Whitby Research and CffiA Geigy-as well as John Daly's laboratory at the National Institutes of Health, to design new adenosine receptor ligands, and both agon ists and antagonists with the aim of developing new therapeutic entiities. Numerous research tools have derived from these efforts including: 2-chloroadenosine, R-PIA (~-phenylisopropyladeno sine; NECA (5' N-ethylcarboxamidoadenosine); CV1808; CI936; PD 125,944; ~-benzyladenosine; PACPX; CPX; CPT; XAC; CGS 15943 and CGS 21680. Yet in the realm of therapeutics it was only in 1989 that adenosine itself was approved for human use in the treatment of supraventricular arrythmias.

Nuclear medicine is the bridge between a particular clinical problem and a relevant test using radionuclides. It began as a minor technical tool used in a few branches of medicine, notably endocrinology and nephrology. However, throughout the world it has now become established as a clinical discipline in its own right, with specific training programmes, special skills and a particular approach to patient management. Although the practising nuclear medicine physician must necessarily learn a great deal of basic science and technology, a sound medical training and a clinical approach to the subject remains of fundamental importance. It is for this reason that we have attempted in this book to approach the subject from a clinical standpoint, including where necessary relevant physiological material. There exist many excellent texts which cover the basic science and technology of nuclear medicine. We have, therefore, severely limited our coverage of these aspects of the subject to matters which we felt to be essential, particularly those which have been less well covered in other texts - for example, the contents of Chapter 21 on Quantitation by Royal and McNeil. Similarly, we have included at the end of some chapters descriptions of particular techniques where we and the authors felt that it would be helpful. In order to emphasize the clinical approach of this book we have inverted the traditional sequence of material in chapters, presenting the clinical problems first in each instance.
