A simple book of verse and prose, of nature and imagination; I have come to terms with the future. From this day forward I will walk easy on the earth, plant trees, and kill no living things. Live in harmony with all creatures. I will restore the earth where I am. Use no more of its resources than I need, and listen, listen to what it is telling me…M.J. Slim Hooey
The feeling of mounting anticipation as one steps onto to the stage to dance is indescribable. All mundane concepts and concerns are left behind for a brief, timeless spell to simply express and share all the joy and wonder availed to us beyond the veil of the material world. It had never occurred to me that the written word could also have a similar effect. Aside from several love poems and channeled writings, I had not, until fairly recently, been aware of the fact that the medium of writing may also be a springboard for sharingwhere ones thoughts, dreams, aspirations, and soul intentions can find a foothold in reality, not until I inadvertently stumbled upon a veritable community of poets on social media. To know that I could allow my thoughts to take shape in forms not traditionally acceptable was gratifying, to say the least. With the writing of each of these poem shapes in Sea Moon, I felt as though I had stepped, like the dancer at heart that I am, and perhaps we all are, into a welcoming forum of word wielders. Its not without the support of other poets, therefore, that Im propelled here to embrace my direction, one whose ultimate goal is to touch people on as wide a scale as possible by simply conveying ideas that might strike melodious chords. I speak my truth here in the knowledge that many of the like-minded will welcome my organically honed word shapes (call it poetry or not) and resonate with them. I believe in the transformative power of all forms of art. If writing be an art form, then let us step lightly into this sanctioned art space, as both writer and reader (as performer and audience) and, respecting fully its ever-changing boundaries, allow the symbolismthe beauty of words, as M. Marceau put itto penetrate our receptive orbs and have their essence filter through and transform our whole beings. It is with a deep-seated desire to touch and to share that I offer you my words, as structured here, in the hope that even a single resonate note will be struck, perhaps to reverberate. Beyond hope, I trust, and know, that we are ready for fresh waves of color to wash over usto cleanse, nourish, and transform us so that we might all actually be the dancers at heart that we truly are. Enjoy!

The 25th Anniversary Edition of Keith Green's inspiring biography, revised and updated by his wife, Melody. This expanded biography contains many added stories and insights, never before published photos, extra selections from Keith's private journals, and glimpses into Melody's season of grieving and raising their two surviving children on her own. He was only twenty-eight when he died in a plane crash with two of his small children, but singer/songwriter Keith Green had already created a legacy of music and inspiration that would outlive him. A spiritual revolutionary, he found freedom through Jesus, not religion, and spent his last years convincing others to refuse to accept the status quo and instead to bring compassion and honesty back to the church. He touched people through vibrant lyrics in songs like "Your Love Broke Through," "You Put This Love In My Heart," and "Asleep In The Light." Last Days Ministries, which he and his wife Melody founded, went on to challenge thousands of people to take to the mission fields of the world. Now, on the 25th anniversary of his death, Melody has updated her husband's biography with new photos, essays from current musicians who were influenced by Keith, selections from Keith's private journal, and stories about what it was like raising their two remaining children on her own.

The beauty of the trees, The softness of the air, The fragrance of the grass, speaks to me. The summit of the mountains, The thunder of the sky, The rhythm of the sea, speaks to me. The faintness of the stars, The freshness of the morning, The dewdrops on the flower speaks to me. And my heart soars. These beautiful words were written by Chief Dan George, and they speak to me. This book speaks of mice at play, flowers that talk, stars whose light creates moonbeams on which we ride in our dreams. There are quirky bumblebees quarreling with fairies and even a buzzing aggravating fly. Come away with me into a storybook of rhyme where I live. Welcome to my world. Melody Hamby Goss

After the battle, Crow and his recruits are sent to stand guard as the legion builds a new road leading north from London across the now completely depopulated lands of the Iceni. General Paulinus, whose troops fought and destroyed the Britons, is obsessed with finding Boudicca, alive or dead, and swears to take her head as a trophy. On the way to the land of the Iceni, Crow befriends a survivor of the Roman retribution. The woman, starved nearly to death, hides from the Romans. Crow feeds and cares for this survivor, whom he calls Ceres. She follows him into the Iceni land and then disappears when the Roman troops arrive to build a fort. Crows squad is made up of tributes to Rome. One member of the squad, Dionysus, wants more than to ride with the Roman army. He spends his time making friends with Roman troops and finding ways to trade his way up from the cavalry. Dionysuss chance comes when he meets General Paulinus and impresses Paulinus with a gifta statue of Paulinuss enemy, Boudicca. Paulinus, in gratitude, promises Dionysus to help him get closer to the powerful people of this Roman colony. Dionysus finds himself assigned to light duty for the higher-ups in the headquarters near London. In comparison, the rest of the squad are run almost to death. Crow realizes that his sympathies lie with the islanders, not the Romans, and leaves the army in search of Ceres. As his squad goes separate ways and learns to become soldiers, Crow seeks the woman he has helped in her home in a foreign land, giving up his career, his freedom, and, perhaps, his life.
This book tells about the struggles of my life and upbringing, meaning the way that I was brought up. I would like the book to be used as a part of a learning process for others who are facing or going through what I have experienced. Writing this book was the hardest thing for me to do because I had to relive the pain. And I hope this book will help someone in need of faith and strength.

This book takes the croak of frogs, the quack of ducks, the twinkle of stars, the bloom of flowers, the snowcapped mountains, the fragrant valleys, and the whispering winds and puts them to rhyme. Artwork created in the sloping mountains of Norway combined with these rhyming words tells tales of what once was to what is. This kiss of Mother Nature is a journey into a world of fantasy, a rapture of lonely shores by the seas as they sing their music of eternity. As Lord Byron once said, “I love not man the less, but nature more.” Come take this journey with me into the mystic.
Trust No One Cassidy DiRocco knows the dark side intimately--as a crime reporter in New York City, she sees it every day. But since she discovered that she's a night blood, her power and potential has led the dark right to her doorway. With her brother missing and no one remembering he exists, she makes a deal with Dominic Lysander, the fascinating master vampire of New York, to find him. Dominic needs the help of Bex, another master vampire, to keep peace in the city, so he sends Cassidy to a remote, woodsy town upstate to convince her--assuming she survives long enough. A series of vicious "animal attacks" after dark tells Cassidy there's more to Bex and her coven than anyone's saying. That goes double for fellow night blood Ian Walker, the tall, blond animal tracker who's supposed to be her ally. Walker may be hot-blooded and hard-bodied, but he's hiding something too. If Cassidy wants the truth, she'll have to squeeze it out herself... every last drop.
“There is pleasure in the pathless woods, there is rapture on the lonely shore, there is society, where none intrudes, by the deep sea, the music in its roar; I love not man the less, but nature more”—this poem by Lord Byron speaks to my soul. Fantasy and fairies dance to the music of nature in this book. Original artwork creates expression for the words, giving meaning to singing frogs and swirling shores while questioning mankind’s treatment of our earth and the environment. Learn the secrets of the universe by touching a star or riding a moonbeam. Hear sunshine or see wind blowing while watching a dewdrop fall to the sea. As John Keats said, “The poetry of the Earth is never dead.” Close your eyes while imagining nature in fantasy.
For those in the wilderness, valleys can be dark places of pain, fear, and loneliness. In Wilderness Like Eden, author Melody Pope offers a heartfelt collection of devotionals designed to refresh the soul, renew hope and peace, and guide the way out of the dark valleys. Honest and candid, Pope highlights the faithfulness of God. Through a transparent and personal approach, Wilderness Like Eden shines light on the Scriptures God used to uplift and strengthen her heart during a time of brokenness. The verses presented encourage the hurting child of God, instilling truths about the Lords character that stand at all times. Stemming from Popes own trials, these devotionals reflect lessons learned and truths reinforced during those days. They are evidence of what God will do with our time in the wilderness when we surrender to His work. He uses it to transform our lives in ways we never expect. The Lord will take your wilderness and made it like Eden: beautiful, abundant, and rich.
This collection of poems documents a journey—one that the author has taken, and maybe you have too. On that journey she broke down, fought through, and was willing to lay it all on the line for what was right. Your own journey may include helping others, easing suffering, or building connections. By putting words to a path and allowing for imperfections, you foster true communion with other individuals, and reflect on staying real and alive in the moment.
When we disagree about fundamental issues, especially issues such as politics or religion, it can be incredibly difficult to maintain close interpersonal relationships. These differences have ended friendships and caused rifts in families. We need a tool to help us build more resilient relationships despite real and present differences. In Brave Talk, communications expert Melody Stanford Martin offers just such a tool: impasse. By learning to treat every conflict as if it's an impasse and temporarily suspend our desire to resolve differences, we make space for deeper understanding and stronger ties. Brave Talk offers hands-on skill-building in critical thinking, power sharing, and rhetoric. Combining real-life storytelling, engaging illustrations, and rigorous academic sources, this book blends humor, creativity, and interactive learning to help everyday people develop better skills for navigating conflict in order to build stronger relationships and healthier communities.
At the end of exile, the boundaries of sacred geography were open for renegotiation: YHWH could once again dwell in Jerusalem in a rebuilt temple, and temple centrality could be renewed. Yet how were such abstract theological and geographical commitments enacted? To what extent was the influence of the city felt and practiced in Yehud or far-away Egypt and Babylon? To answer such questions, this volume examines 'centrality' through the practices of animal sacrifice, pilgrimage, tithing, and the use of incense and figurines. Unique in its appraisal of centrality via religious practice and in its integration of the biblical text and archaeological record, [this study] offers a compelling portrait of the variegated centralities of the Jerusalem temple in the Persian period." -- Back cover
