Lessons Learned is an important phase in project management. This is when organizations can pave the way for future project success by documenting mistakes so they are not repeated and recording best practices so they are repeated. This book covers the important role a project management office (PMO) plays in promoting lessons learned. Project managers learn how to improve processes by applying lessons learned. The book emphasizes "actionability," or producing a process improvement that can be acted upon by anyone in the PMO or project team.

Since 1901, over 5,600 pitchers have toed the rubber in baseball's major leagues. Of them only 369 have won 20 or more games in a single season. (Only 168 of those to win 20 games have been able to repeat the feat, further illustrating how difficult it is to reach that plateau.) Season by season, this reference work documents major league 20-game winners from 1901 through the 1996 season (including the Federal League 1914-1915). A brief synopsis of each pitcher's season is provided, along with his complete pitching statistics. Some of the pitchers who won 20 games were all-time greats, but, interestingly, many were journeymen who had one great season. The work also shows the changes in the game, from the deadball era when pitching dominated to the present when the lively ball has made the 20-game winner even rarer than before.
Musical theatre is --and always has been-- an international form, not just an American one. It can take root anywhere. Few people would realise that such hit standards as "The Glow Worm", "Brazil", "Mack the Knife", "I Will Wait for You" and "El Condor Pasa" came from foreign language musicals. A Million Miles from Broadway --Musical Theatre Beyond New York and London looks at the history (and future) of work that exists outside of the two traditional centres. Met Atkey has lectured internationally on musical theatre. He is also a composer and lyricist himself. When his musical A Little Princess (written with the late Robert Sickinger) opened, the New York Times praised its "lovely music". His earlier book Broadway North: the Dream of a Canadian Musical Theatre has become the basis for courses taught in Canadian Universities, including Sheridan College, where the international hit musical Come from Away was born. Austrailian TV producer and musical writer Peter Pinne called it "well documented", full of facts, and a compelling read for any musical theatre buff." "--
An engaging and often hilarious survey of the far-from-fusty extra-curricular activities of some of philosophy’s finest practitioners Philosophers Behaving Badly examines the lives of eight great philosophers—Rousseau, whose views on education and the social order seem curiously at odds with his own outrageous life; Schopenhauer and Nietzsche, two giants of the 19th century whose words seem ever more relevant today; and five immensely influential philosophers of the 20th century, Russell, Wittgenstein, Heidegger, Sartre, and Foucault.
