Annie's life changed forever the day the hand-some Edward Barns knocked on her door. Hard work on their small farm in Kentucky, and trying to make ends meet had taken its toil on her marriage to Tom Flowers. In her wildest dream, Annie never thought someone would come along where she would have to choose between the man she married or the man she loved. Would love be enough to calm the storms of life that will follow if she follows her heart?
The beautiful girl watched the old man sleeping, and for the first time in a long while pity washed over her. In fact she couldn't remember the last time she had felt any kind of emotion, for her heart had become hardened so as not to feel the pain that caring could bring. Her remorse was like a broken mirror that couldn't be put back together. Memories of the last few years working for Flo's escorting service filled her mind, threatening her with another sleepless night, but sleep would come for tomorrow she would be leaving that part of her life behind, going back to being the good girl she was before leaving Kentucky.
My love of poetry pulls me back to my pen and paper for there seems to be no end to the things I want to write about. Life is poetic in many ways, the happy times and even sad events in life inspire me as they did to write my first book Memories Forgotten. I hope poetry lovers all over will enjoy reading my second book of poems, The Poem Reaper, as much as I enjoyed writing it. My writing is about real life and imaginary things. It is also inspirational as well as funny, including poems that children and older ones alike will enjoy. Life is like a field that is ready for harvest and I gather all the events around us and put them in poetic form. So if you enjoy reading about life and the life around us then you will enjoy the reaping of the seasons of life as I see it and wrote about in this book The Poem Reaper.
A Field Where Memories Grow, is a collection of short stories in poetic form of my journeys through the seasons of life and the roads we all travel. I have written about world events, romance and spiritual experiences as well as the highs and lows we encounter in life. Also included are the fairy tales that I have always loved to write. Our journeys through life reminds me of the changing seasons and much of my writing is comparing nature with the human stages of life. "From one small seed a tree will grow tall and from its roots a forest will come to be. As does one seed from man when planted will flourish; thus grows a family tree.
My Life In Poetry was written about memories long past, as well as current events in my own life and my family. Writing has been therapeutic for me and I hope will be so for the readers of this book of poems Memories Forgotten. Some of them are funny while other are inspirational. I have written about sad events in my life as well as the happy times. I know that many of you will see your own life unfolding as you read many of the true events of my life.
