The story describes how he and others build relationships to last a lifetime and how some get destroyed. The action starts in Africa and moves seamlessly between Bermuda, New York, and the Atlantic Ocean. Minion or Master is the first in a series of thrillers featuring George Howden and Adrian Cuthbert covering the late twentieth and early twenty first centuries.

This book came into this world October 18, 2014. It was a difficult story to tell because of the shifting moods of the characters and situations. To go from And there was my grandmother, the very definition of misery. The apartment she lived in was given to her by my uncle, her son, but she took us in when we had no place to live. She had her own story: To go to; Because we were so poor there was no money for toys. My uncle Jess bought me a red fire truck, the kind you sit in and peddle. I was not allowed to take it into the street so I drove it on the roof of that garage next door, our private playground going round and round. I loved that truck as it was the only toy I had. Boy, poverty sucks but has its advantages: you learn to live without things and it makes you strive for more, willing to do anything to get out of poverty. Everything this book is, is to relay the total experience of the piece, the happiness, the sadness, and most of all the fear. With situations like; When they got to me they wrapped me up in a quilt and hung me out of the window with only the pressure of the window holding me up. Erics family lived on the eighth floor of their building so if I fell I would most assuredly be dead from the fall. I could see down as my head was partially hanging out of the quilt, a crowd started to gather below. It is also meant to be a tribute to the Brave men and women in the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement. I try to bombard your senses with strong feelings of what life was like for these people with involvements such as; I thought to myself this is a murder assignment and I was right! We were there for one reason and one reason only: to eliminate the enemy, to win this war by attrition. The book is for the reader to get completely involved with each situations gravity. This book takes a critical look at this notion, drawing on research in Bangladesh, a country located at the heart of debates on climate change and migration. This book argues that rather than leading to dramatic events, climatic and environmental impacts often cause incremental changes in people’s habitats and livelihoods, making them migrate in search of better places and income. With or without climate change, climatic and environmental factors can impoverish people, and drive displacement and migration, especially in the global South. These influences, including disasters, need not necessarily make people move, but instead sometimes trap the poorest and the most vulnerable people in their places exposed to hazards or make them migrate to even riskier places, such as crowded and flood-prone urban slums. This book argues that restrictions placed on people’s mobility options could increase their vulnerability and favours proactive migration policies. This timely contribution explains the climate-hazard-migration nexus in an accessible, engaging language for students of geography, development studies, politics and environmental studies, as well as humanitarian and development practitioners and policymakers.

A Year in Retirement is a fictionalized memoir covering the year after a 61-year old leaves his civil service job after 27 years. It depicts his experiences in dealing with the question: So youre retired; what do you do now? It shows that some things change in retirement while others dont. It shows that retirement can be a little scary, but that it can also be rewarding. The authors purpose was, first, having published three collections of short stories in each of the past three years, to write a longer piece; and, secondly, to put into it all of the things hes learned about dealing with being retired. As it turned out, this wasnt too much, but he hopes the book will be somewhat instructive as well as entertaining. The author is still writing short stories; at this time, hes had a little over 200 stories published, most of them in the online magazines he discovered four or five years ago. In addition to A Year in Retirement, hes included in this book 25 short stories that have been published but not collected before.
