“Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?” Psalm 77:13 If you think the Old Testament feast days are outdated and of no interest to Christians living in the twenty-first century, think again! Within the feast days lies the entire gospel message of salvation—every feast says something about Jesus: who He is, what He is doing, and what He will do in the future. Feast Days for the Contemporary Mind will open your eyes to the amazing truths about salvation that God wove into the feasts He gave to the Israelites to observe. Pastor Craig Martin Barnes explores each of the seven feasts and the antitypical fulfillment of each event as it relates to our redemption. This book plunges you into the Word of God, examining the Old and New Testament as it relates to the feast days and their completion and providing detailed commentary that expounds upon the subject matter and guides you to a deeper understanding of Jesus’ life, death, and heavenly ministry.
It should come as no surprise that Judaism, which has existed as the religion and culture of the children of Israel since the days of Moses, more than three millennia ago, has had occasion to institute markers reflective of its development and history from then to the present day. The present work, ‘Reflections on the Major Holy Days of Judaism,’ is intentionally limited in scope to those occasions earmarked as ‘holy convocations’ in the primary sourcebooks of Judaism, The Five Books of Moses, known in Jewish lore as the Torah, and in many translations as the Pentateuch. It is these ‘holy convocations’ that dominate Judaism’s annual religious and liturgical calendar, yet the biblical texts that ordain them are in many instances less than clear with regard to their observance. As a result, over the millennia since their original promulgation, scholars and others have struggled with the problem of defining in acceptable and actionable terms the purported intent of the sacred texts, a process that continues to the present day. This study recalls the notable reflections of scholars since the first century C.E., as well as their disagreements, on the evolution of the Major Holy Days of Judaism, their significance, traditions, and distinctive customs.
Audio App Daily Devotional is the complete Bible. We have removed the verse numbers from the text itself, which gives an almost poetic feel to the Scriptures as you read, while maintaining the chapter and verse references ahead of each day's portion of Scripture. This enables you to reference and study the Scriptures in a more in-depth manner. Inside you will find an average of twenty-three New Testament verses, seven Psalms verses, three Proverbs verses, and fifty-five Old Testament verses per day. While I never recommend rushing through your time with our Lord, I felt it important to make each day's readings and portions as equal as possible, allowing you to set times throughout the day for reading in order to regroup or refocus on your task at hand. Look for and expect to hear from our Lord. Look for God to move in your life more and more as you draw closer to Him daily.

A mycotoxin is a toxin produced by a fungus under special conditions of moisture and temperature. These fungi are aerobic and microscopic and, moreover, may colonize many kinds of food from the field to the table. Mycotoxins are not only a spoilage issue for food, but in high doses can be a serious health threat for humans. The book will be similar to Weidenborner’s previous two books - “Mycotoxins in Feedstuffs” and “Mycotoxins in Foodstuffs” - in that it will be a review of the literature to create a comprehensive reference for mycotoxin levels. It will be his third (and last) book on the topic, this time focusing on the incidence of a mycotoxin in humans and/or animals (natural or artificial incidence). Each entry will include contamination, concentration rate, mean concentration of organs (humans and animals) with a mycotoxin, as well as sample constitution (where possible) and country of origin of the sample.

In 1966-67 Martin Heidegger and Eugen Fink conducted an extraordinary seminar on the fragments of Heraclitus. Heraclitus Seminar records those conversations, documenting the imaginative and experimental character of the multiplicity of interpretations offered and providing an invaluable portrait of Heidegger involved in active discussion and explication. Heidegger's remarks in this seminar illuminate his interpretations not only of pre-Socratic philosophy, but also of figures such as Hegel and Holderllin. At the same time, Heidegger clarifies many late developments in his own understanding of truth, Being, and understanding. Heidegger and Fink, both deeply rooted in the Freiburg phenomenological tradition, offer two competing approaches to the phenomenological reading of the ancient text-a kind of reading that, as Fink says, is "not so much concerned with the philological problematic ... as with advancing into the matter itself, that is, toward the matter that must have stood before Heraclitus's spiritual view.
Divided Mastery explores a curiously neglected aspect of the history of American slavery: the rental of slaves. Though few slaves escaped being rented out at some point in their lives, this is the first book to describe the practice, and its effects on both slaves and the peculiar institution. Martin reveals how the unique triangularity of slave hiring created slaves with two masters, thus transforming the customary polarity of master-slave relationships. Drawing upon slaveholders' letters, slave narratives, interviews with former slaves, legislative petitions, and court records, Divided Mastery ultimately reveals that slave hiring's significance was paradoxical. The practice bolstered the system of slavery by facilitating its spread into the western territories, by democratizing access to slave labor, and by promoting both production and speculation with slave capital. But at the same time, slaves used hiring to their advantage, finding in it crucial opportunities to shape their work and family lives, to bring owners and hirers into conflict with each other, and to destabilize the system of bondage. Martin illuminates the importance of the capitalist market as a tool for analyzing slavery and its extended relationships. Through its fresh and complex perspective, Divided Mastery demonstrates that slave hiring is critical to understanding the fundamental nature of American slavery, and its social, political, and economic place in the Old South.
