How Satan Fights offers a unique military intelligence analysis of how Satan and his demonic army will wage war against mankind, using the same unclassified intelligence process that is used by the US Armys military intelligence corps today. Author Mark Kelly is a Christian who served as a tactical intelligence officer for thirteen years; he now presents an investigation of the war from biblical times through today, providing a deeper knowledge of our enemy, Satan. He explains the combat strength of Satans demonic army, their arrangement on the battlefield, their political and military command structure, their strengths and weaknesses, and their mission on earth. With analysis based on information found in the Holy Scriptures, How Satan Fights considers what Satan intends to do with God if he wins the war. Kelly reveals Satans military doctrines and explores how he has used these doctrines from the time of Adam to the present day. More important, he demonstrates that Satan uses the same tactics of yesterday against the faithful Christians of today. Through this study, you can gain increased understanding of the war that Satan waged against Jesus and the apostles. This war is real, and it is being waged all around us. We must understand our enemy and his tactics if we, through the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, are to defeat him.

This is a book about what we consider normal. It details how the very concept of normality emerged in the modern era, and how it has changed over the centuries. By the mid-twentieth century, the expansion of norms across various areas of human endeavour generated a governing normative order in Western societies. Normality was defined as conformity with a narrow model of conventional human behaviour. However, this model has since been displaced by an anti-conformism, in which normality is defined as absolute self-fulfilment, defying older restrictions on our behaviour. Paradoxically, narcissistic individualism and rebellion against conformity have become compulsory. Normal Now explores in detail how this new normative order plays out today in the arenas of politics, health, and sex and sexuality. In all these areas, the uncompromising perfectionism of our norms of self-expression leads to increasingly deep-seated and ubiquitous anger, anxiety and dissatisfaction.

The author of THE TAO OF CHIP KELLY returns with deep insight into the mind of one of the NFL’s most innovative and increasingly controversial coaches. The 2014 off-season saw the excitement of Chip Kelly's NFL debut turn ugly fast. Before his second training camp even opened, the coach abruptly cut DeSean Jackson, his popular and explosive wide receiver, who signed with division rival Washington. Reporters wondered whether Kelly was built for the NFL, whether the offensive schemes that dominated the college game could work in the pros, and whether he had the fortitude to handle the media. Kelly responded to his critics by navigating crippling injuries and a fractious locker room to lead the Eagles to a 9-3 record. Then they lost three straight games, a collapse fueled by DeSean Jackson's revenge and, perhaps, Kelly's own stubbornness. Still, the Philadelphia Eagles, with Chip Kelly at the helm, continue to implement a strategy that goes beyond the X’s-and-O’s and into the very fabric of the organization. Mark Saltveit, the author of THE TAO OF CHIP KELLY, illuminates the strategies and philosophies of Chip Kelly in the nitty gritty stories of one NFL season, featuring characters such as Murderleg, Johnny Manziel, and Bryan Braman, the ex-model who grew up homeless and tackled a Titans punt returner head first—without a helmet. As Kelly continues to reinvent the game of football itself with insights from the Navy Seals, rugby stars, and silly movies, CONTROLLED CHAOS is essential reading for any gridiron fan.

Having studied Kelly's time at Oregon extensively, Saltveit has written the book on Kelly. Literally."—Dan Graziano, ESPN This insightful, eye-opening guide reveals the methods and the madness behind the new coach of the San Francisco 49'ers. During his four years as football coach at the University of Oregon, Chip Kelly led the previously unheralded Ducks to a 46-7 record. But Chip Kelly's method goes a lot deeper than his high-risk defense and lightning-fast, no-huddle offense. What is behind Chip's astonishing success? It's a lot more than just plays and tactics. Now that he's run the NFL gauntlet as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles and emerged out the other side to come back to the west coast, this book looks at the remarkable philosophy and innovative management strategies that Chip Kelly uses to build elite teams-strategies that every leader or business manager can employ to make their own brand a champion. "He just thinks so differently than anyone I've ever met."—John Neal, Oregon assistant coach "Saltveit lays out a clear picture of how Kelly operates."—Bob Ford, PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER
THE WOODS - Michael Kelly Michael Kelly reveals "The Woods' was written for an anthology seeking regional horror and ghost stories. I'd just read Hemingway's 'Hills Like White Elephant's'. Now, in no way am I comparing myself to Hemingway but I wanted to write a similarly brief tale, with only two main characters, and where the horror was off-stage. As well, the setting had to be distinctly Canadian. What, I thought, could be more Canadian than the frozen north and allusions to mythical beasts?" MAMI WATA - Simon Kurt Unsworth Unsworth reveals, "When I was first asked to contribute to Exotic Gothic 3 (which was to feature Gothic-influenced stories in non-Gothic environments), I agreed without really thinking about it, and then spent a long time struggling, trying to work out how, precisely, I was going to manage it or quite how to make a start. "I knew what I wanted to do, sort of, but not exactly how to do it, so one day alarmingly close to the deadline I did a fun thing: I freewheeled through Google. Using a small document about Zambian myths and cultures I found online (I set the story in Zambia for no reason other than an old family friend lives there and it seemed exotic in Gothic terms), I used one Zambian word from it as a search term and read what came up, took one intriguing Zambian term from the search results and searched for that, etc, and disappeared into Google's merry depths. "I ended up with an academic paper about a particular myth, a travel blog about a sort of beer made from corn and a weird little 'my God's better than your God' blog by a kid in Africa, and somewhere in the middle of that, the story appeared." THE AXHOLME TOLL - Mark Valentine "In the following story, the book called The MS. in a Red Box really exists," the author reveals. "All of the legends about the Isle, and about Beckett's assassins, are also genuine, except (so far) that of the Toll, and their final place of rest - or unrest." TWO STEPS ALONG THE ROAD - Terry Dowling "Two Steps Along the Road' came out of a conversation with US editor Danel Olson," Dowling explains, "where we discussed me doing a ghost story set in Vietnam for Exotic Gothic 3, and the interesting possibilities it might provide for delivering atmosphere and an interesting perspective on familiar things. "Before I knew it, I was blending two separate elements that were demanding attention: the notion of a root-form behind all hauntings, regardless of what form they took, and the unnerving realization that the eyes of a quite attractive teaching colleague would be truly terrifying to behold if they were set just a tad closer together. "The ideas were intended for very different stories but, as so often happens, they decided they were meant for each other.
Borderline personality disorder is a severe and complex psychiatric condition that, until recently, many considered nearly untreatable. But this optimistic guide to BPD provides information that will bring newfound hope to those who have this painful disorder, and to their family and friends. People with borderline personality disorder have problems coping with almost everything, and therefore anything can provoke them to impulsive actions, angry outbursts, and self-destructive behaviors. Their personal relationships are simultaneously overly dependent and strained, if not openly hostile, and frequently explosive. Incorporating the latest research and thinking on the disorder, Johns Hopkins psychiatrists Francis Mark Mondimore and Patrick Kelly conceptualize it in an original way. They explain that symptoms are the result of biological and behavioral problems, extremes of temperament, and impaired psychological coping, all of which may have a relationship with traumatic life events. The authors advocate a therapeutic approach incorporating compassion and optimism in the face of what is often a tumultuous disease. With proper treatment, people with borderline personality disorder can enjoy long remissions and improved quality of life.
A hurricane strikes a city; terrorists attack a nation; global warming threatens the environment--such problems are too large for any one authority to solve alone. Our increasingly globalized and interconnected world calls for a new type of tri-sector leadership in which business, government and nonprofits work together in a state of permanent negotiation. To be effective, tomorrow's leaders will need to reach across national and sector divisions to form a collaborative "megacommunity." Based on interviews with over 100 leaders from around the world including Bill Clinton, Henry Kissinger, Kenneth Chenault and Richard Parsons, MEGACOMMUNITIES: How Leaders of Government, Business and Non-Profits Can Tackle Today's Global Challenges Together introduces a radically new framework for reaching solutions to today's thorniest problems. Written by four senior consultants from global consultancy Booz Allen Hamilton, and with a Foreword by Walter Isaacson, this important book explains how a megacommunity approach is: COUNTERING AIDS, ALZHEIMER'S AND GLOBAL PANDEMICS In India, a megacommunity battles HIV/AIDS by bringing together both public, private, and civil-sector organizations, including PepsiCo, the Gates Foundation, U.S. healthcare experts, UN development programs, and local NGOs. CONSERVING THE ENVIRONMENT AND ENERGY In saving the world's rainforests, providers, distributors, sellers, and consumers of lumber team up with local communities, the World Wildlife Fund, and Goldman Sachs. HELPING COMMUNITIES GROW In changing neighborhoods like Harlem, the megacommunity includes local small businesses, community groups, global companies, and foundations like Bill Clinton's. "What is required are leaders who know how to identify the vital interests they share with others, who are prepared to seek the benefits from which all can gain," write the authors.
This book is for executives, managers, and leaders who want to coach their own people more effectively. It covers the fundamentals of coaching others, building effective coaching relationships, secrets for great coaching sessions, and getting started in coaching.
