The goal of this book is to provide a current overview of the impacts of climate change on tropical forests, to investigate past, present, and future climatic influences on the ecosystems with the highest biodiversity on the planet.Tropical Rainforest Responses to Climatic Change will be the first book to examine how tropical rain forest ecology is altered by climate change, rather than simply seeing how plant communities were altered. I was in trade magazines, on TV shows and received fan mail. It got to the point where I had to deal with my fans and their mania wherever I went, like the rock stars I worked with. The only other road manager at the time that was in this category was Malcolm Evans, who worked for the Beatles. Paul Revere had told me I was even like a sixth Raider. Here I was, a kid from Olympia, and now in Hollywood living the fast lane with the after burner on, and the G forces pushing my skin back on my face. The jet pilots are not the only ones that do that. I lived it. From band boy, to roadie, to road manager, tour manger, and body guard. It tells the true-life story of groups starting out, and the excitement of making it all the way to the top. And I was the only one that went everywhere the band did, having the same experiences. The changes in the way we tour on the ground and in the air, changes in sound equipment, show productions, TV shows, touring, recording, business and instruments. It tells of the fun, the hard work, the excitement, the danger and the responsibility of touring. I would go up against anybody in history that thinks they saw a lot of rock ’n’ roll bands in that time. I literally saw thousands and thousands. No one else alive can tell this story but me, because of the unique position I was in at the time. After 18 years on the road working with top American and top British groups, and having the business almost kill me a few times, I definitely have a very unique one of a kind story to tell. I have played Madison Square Garden's, Yankee Stadium, Dick Clark Caravan Star Tours, USO Tours, College tours, promotional tours, and other Country tours. I have done it all. Keep in mind that out of the entire population of the United States, 25% are baby boomers. And they were teenyboppers at that time. Looking back, I have no regrets except for one: THE ROCK ’N’ ROLL EVOLUTION WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN. I was right in the middle of it! The ineffectiveness of conventional air attacks on US Navy surface ships, particularly heavily defended targets like carrier task groups, forced the Japanese to re-evaluate their tactics in late 1944. The solution they arrived at was simple – crash their aircraft into American ships. This notion of self-sacrifice fit well within the Japanese warrior psyche and proved terrifying to the American sailors subjected to it. These tactics brought immediate results, and proved effective until the end of the war. After the turn of the 20th century the leadership of Imperial Japan looked at ways to increase the size and economic power of the Empire. These ideals were also in the forefront of the competing European nations and America. Quickly realizing their military forces would require substantial enlargement to apply “adequate political pressure” the Japanese government undertook a major directional change in policy. The Japanese navy and air force were enlarged and reorganized along European lines. These expansionist policies soon raised the ire of the competing nations. Japan had always been looked down upon as a second class nation and this attitude stung many young Japanese officers and bureaucrats into action. By the end of the First World War Japan had already obtained overseas bases in the Pacific as war reparations. The IJA and IJN sought to improve these bases for a future conflict with other nations. Just before the end of the Second World War the paths of all three men would cross. Following the creation of the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics in 1915, a unique flight research operations division was established at the nation's first civilian aeronautics research laboratory, the Langley Memorial Aeronautical Laboratory. The last fifty years or more of ethical theory have been preoccupied by a turn to reasons. The vocabulary of reasons has become a common currency not only in ethics, but in epistemology, action theory, and many related areas. It is now common, for example, to see central theses such as evidentialism in epistemology and egalitarianism in political philosophy formulated in terms of reasons. And some have even claimed that the vocabulary of reasons is so useful precisely because reasons have analytical and explanatory priority over other normative concepts - that reasons in that sense come first. Reasons First systematically explores both the benefits and burdens of the hypothesis that reasons do indeed come first in normative theory, against the conjecture that theorizing in both ethics and epistemology can only be hampered by neglect of the other.
