This thesis describes a new approach to the construction of solar cells. Following nature's example, this approach has the goal to find a biomimetic self-assembling dye, whose aggregates can mimic the natural light-harvesting system of special photosynthetic active bacteria. The thesis investigates methods to control the self-assembly such that suitable dye aggregates are formed with high internal order and size-confinement. The dye aggregates can be implemented into a new type of solar cells, designed to combine the advantages of hybrid solar cells and solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells (ss-DSSCs): dye aggregate solar cells (DASCs). This book describes the construction and first tests of a prototype for DASCs on the basis of the investigated dye aggregates. The described approach has the advantage that it will enable to build up a light-harvesting system fully synthetically in large scale in order to realize low-cost, light-weight and environmentally friendly solar cells - a worthwhile goal towards the exploitation of clean energy from sunlight.

The book is divided into eight chapters. The first chapter introduces physical anthropology, explaining its position and goals in the system of anthropological disciplines. This is followed by a chapter presenting the standardized methods of anthropometry and a chapter describing the organization of anthropological research and presenting a historical overview of major anthropological surveys. The subsequent chapters outline methods designed to evaluate body composition and human constitution and methods assessing the physical growth and development of children. The last chapter but one details methods serving to assess the physical parameters of an individual or group compared to the standard using the Z-score. The final chapter sets out the anthropometric instruments used in physical anthropometry and describes their technical parameters.
This outstanding work is a manual that enables one to identify pupae, or empty pupal skins, of about two thirds (some 2,600 species) of the Central European Lepidoptera. Franz Kafka is by far the Prague author most widely read and admired internationally. However, his reception in Czechoslovakia, launched by the Liblice conference in 1963, has been conflicted. While rescuing Kafka from years of censorship and neglect, Czech critics of the 1960s “overwrote” his German and Jewish literary and cultural contexts in order to focus on his Czech cultural connections.
