As Arabs, work is worshipped (Islamic Religion calls on us to respect work like as if it is in praying). We are also brought up to be polite, courteous and decent (at least a majority of us). Abrupt, ugly, rudeness and distort are discouraged. Also it is not easy to say NO - as part of the culture, customs, traditions and heritage. So what went wrong here - especially in Management circles? Why are we behind the rest of the world, despite all our riches and resources? I hope you will enjoy the book. I have tried to be as frank, open, forthright, honest, sincere and genuine as I can - as Readers who know me can give credence and credibility to me and will vouch and authenticate my works. It is a no punch-spared, no barrels held stiff, no frills - play but to be as frank, open and honest as possible - so it can be a learning process for this generation and others to come in the future. The Writer, who is a Human Resources Professional and Expert, is also a weekly Column Writer in The Oman Daily Observer Features under 'Between Us Only'. He started writing as a hobby when he was 12 years old, and his first project in writing (My Most Vivid Dream) had won him a National Award. His style of writing is 'with a fresh approach and direct from the heart' and as if speaking to you directly, having known you and using personal experiences and exposures - and examples to illustrate his points, views, and suggestions - characteristics of his writing style. Many of his famous widely acclaimed read articles have been compiled into his first book and cater for different tastes and likes - covering almost everyone - from the Student to the CEO, from the child, teenager to Grand Parents! The Original!The original book was published on around May 2003 in Oman by Al Nahda Printing Press.Surprisingly, despite my 12 books later - there is still a large following who still think that this was my Best Book! I would not know – but surely it was My First Book! Compiling all my articles in my columns then Between Us Only! And At My Workplace in The Oman Daily Observer!You can still find this book still in many offices in Oman – and that is really touching to me as The Author! The other day my brother in law MYS was 'scolding me' that I should have translated this book into Arabic – instead of the book Arabic – Behind The Wheel! – www.createspace.com/4875352 He is one of my most advertent Reader and fan!As there are only few copies left circulating around, I thought it fit to preserve the works by redoing the book! I was debating to add pictures and images – and to sort out by topics – but in the end decided to try as best as to add some images in! The aforementioned were 'the usual pointers and complaints' mainly raised on the book. The first book was sponsored by The MB Group of Companies and carried their Corporate Logos.Many of the articles talk of increasing extremism, fundamentalism - of plain evil etc. – and the tear and the breaking up of The Society Fabric! 13 years later - The Truth arises – and what is most astonishing is that most of the things I had said and predicted then came to pass! And still as prevailing relevant too to date!It was always my dream to redo the book on my own! Today that dream has become a reality! I hope you will enjoy reading the book again of past memories - a sense of Déjà Vu!Despite strong temptations, I decided just to stick to make the book as best same as The Original version!
