Present era is most tough for highly aspirant youngsters mainly because of highly competitive environment all over the world and only toppers are preferred by employers, hence the competitive examinations are organized for final selection. The general mathematics and aptitude has been the criteria to judge the ability of the candidates. Performance in the examination of the candidates is considered the most suitable parameter for final selection. Therefore candidates have to toil sincerely and honestly to get top ranks in the competitive examinations. I don't know any other rout except hard work for success. At present, in most of the competitive examinations like Indian civil services, state civil services, banks, public and private organizations and other state examinations for different posts, university entrance tests etc. are based on candidates' ability in mathematics and general aptitude. It is quite common that number of coaching institutes are flourishing all over the country to prepare them for competitive examinations and in result they have to pay highly. Poor but intelligent students could not get equal opportunity as they are unable to attend these coaching institutes because of unexpected high fee so they feel unfortunate to beat the examinations. This environment make them nervous and hopeless. This book will help and support to all aspiring youngsters for competitive examinations. This book is designed to fulfill a long felt need for a wide ranging empirical research on foreign capital-growth nexus. It presents an analysis of disaggregated flows of foreign capital and their long run relationship with growth process in an emerging nation like India during the past four decades. The study detects factors like financial deepening, trade openness and market size, as potential determinants of FDI. The book investigates long run relationship between FDI and Growth, with causality running from FDI to Growth, whereby Aid-Growth long run relationship is detected with causal direction from Aid to Growth. Further, Net foreign capital-growth nexus is also established in the long run, however, with no causal direction. The book examines the relative significance of Aid and FDI in terms of their impact on growth. The results reveal that Aid appears to be more productive than FDI, but when export is included in the model FDI appears to be more productive than Aid. Empirical results have been calculated in the book, with the help of Johansen and Juselius (1990) co-integration technique, vector error correction, impulse response function and variance decomposition. The results in the book show, superiority of FDI over Aid is not established in India, hence two variables remain complementary to each other. This timely book on foreign capital-growth nexus in India is likely to attract researchers, teachers of Economics, Mathematics, Commerce, Business Economics, Management, Technology and policy-makers interested in the foreign capital-growth nexus in future.

The treatment of the book is on modern scientific lines dipped in spirituality, as preached by Swami Vivekananda. While highlighting the plight of Dalits in the past and present period, the author has not lost sight of whatever is good and grand in Hindu philosophy.

It is with the greatest pleasure that I add a few introductory remarks to the book of Dr. Mahendra Pal Singh on German administrative law. Between 1981 and 1982 Dr. Singh spent nearly two years in Heidelberg, doing re search partly at the South Asia Institute of the Ruprecht Karl University and partly at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law. During his stay in the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Singh studied the general principles of German administrative law in a careful and admirable manner, and he has now completed the present book which is based on his studies in Heidelberg. For several reasons Dr. Singh is especially qualified to write this book: His famil iarity with the administrative law of his home country has enabled him to look upon the German law with considerable objectivity; his knowledge of the German lan guage gave him access to the vast amount of German literature and court decisions; and Dr. Singh was able to penetrate this material with a searching and scholarly spirit. The final product seems to be the first comprehensive treatise in English on German administrative law.
