Technology is changing how we practice medicine. Sensors and wearables are getting smaller and cheaper, and algorithms are becoming powerful enough to predict medical outcomes. Yet despite rapid advances, healthcare lags behind other industries in truly putting these technologies to use. A major barrier is the cross-disciplinary approach required to create digital tools, a process that requires knowledge from many people across a range of fields. 'Fast Facts: Digital Medicine – Measurement' aims to overcome that barrier, introducing the reader to core concepts and terms and facilitating dialogue. Contrasting 'clinical research' with routine 'clinical care', this short colorful book describes types of digital measurement and how to use and validate digital measures in different settings. And with the burgeoning development of digital medicine tools, the authors provide a timely overview of the security, ethical, regulatory and legal issues to be considered before a product can enter the market. Contents: • What is digital medicine? • Where does digital medicine fit? • Regulatory considerations • Ethical principles and our responsibilities • Ethics in practice • Security, data rights and governance • Digital biomarkers and clinical outcomes • Measurement in clinical trials • Verification and validation • The future of digital medicine
The small city of Macao--formerly a Portuguese colony, now a Special Administrative Region of China--liberalized its gaming industry in 2002. Since then a score of new casinos have been built and millions of gamblers have flooded in from mainland China. Per capita income has more than doubled in five years and the gaming operators have outstripped their Las Vegas counterparts in revenue and profits. But rapid economic growth has also brought social and political problems. In this structured survey of modern Macao, 15 experts examine the effects of massive foreign investment, the problems of governance, and increasing public policy challenges in a time of rapid change and potential social instability. Newman M. K. Lamis professor of public administration at the University of Macau.Ian Scottis emeritus professor and fellow of the Asia Research Centre at Murdoch University and adjunct professor of public and social administration at the City University of Hong Kong.

This report presents the main results derived from the analysis of the food data collected in the 2019/20 HIES to inform current patterns on food and nutrient consumption in Marshall Islands. The analysis of the food insecurity experience scale data collected in the 2019/20 HIES reveals that more than one household in three is experiencing moderate or severe levels of food insecurity, which means they are lacking money or other resources to access foods in enough quantity or of good quality. The further analysis of the food data collected in the same survey finds that for around 5 percent of Marshallese, their dietary intake is lower than their basic dietary needs to maintain a normal active and healthy life. Whenever possible, indicators are given at national level and for sub-groups of the population.
Ample literature covering various aspects of Veterinary Andrology and frozen semen technology is available but need for a book incorporating practical aspects of the subject was always felt for the students of andrology and semen biology and scientists working in the area. This book is aimed to fill this void in literature by providing insight into various applied aspects of veterinary andrology, frozen semen technology and artificial insemination with the help of relevant illustrations based on author's experience and research in the subject. Theoretical aspects of the subject have been deliberately omitted as ample literature on the topic has already been published. This book has been written to supplement the requirements of the scientists and Managers working in frozen semen production station, Semen Quality Control Laboratories, Andrological Diagnosis Laboratories and students of Andrology and Artificial Insemination. It incorporates the topics mentioned in syllabus for Practical course of Andrology and Artificial Insemination of undergraduate students of Veterinary Science. This will also be helpful to the graduate students of Animal Reproduction or Veterinary Andrology as a teaching aid.
