Lisa was a public relations director and event planner in D.C. A Christian-in-name-only, Lisa dated freely in spite of her insecurities. An Atheist. A Catholic. A Quaker. A Preacher. A Jew. Some gave her the answers she yearned for, while others left her with more questions. As Lisa’s star rose in the political movement, her quest to find her Mr. Righteous led her down a path of religious confusion and discovery. Lisa navigates her journey with humor and humility. Will she find her soul mate or save her soul? Is it too much to ask for both? "Lisa De Pasquale is one of the best conservative writers out there, but this book isn’t about politics. It’s a fascinating and extremely personal account of her dating life, her massive insecurities and her mostly ineffective search for God – until one man accidentally reveals the truth to her. I won’t tell you how, or I’d ruin the ending. This is a true Christian story, disguised as racy 'Chick Lit.'" - Ann Coulter, New York Times Bestselling Author and Columnist "With an entirely fresh perspective and a voice that's humorous, hopeful, and, at times, absolutely heartbreaking, Lisa De Pasquale's quest to find Him is a must-read. I loved Finding Mr. Righteous, agonizing over the rough patches along with De Pasquale and cheering her on throughout, and I can't recommend this book highly enough!" - Jen Lancaster, New York Times Bestselling Author of the Tao of Martha and Here I Go Again "Finding Mr. Righteous is a true page-turner that will touch many lives. That's because it's a very sharply told, sometimes hilarious, sometimes sordid, but always bravely honest account of one woman's search -- in all the wrong places -- for connection, meaning, peace, and true love. By refusing to sugar-coat the sorrows and humiliations of her wanderings, her journey's end is all the more wonderful, powerful, moving, and sweet." - Eric Metaxas, New York Times Bestselling author of Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy

The oldest of three brothers who were raised by a single mother, Mike Broomhead got his first job by the time he was twelve. On his own by sixteen, he eventually earned his GED and, with dreams of being a cowboy, he moved to Arizona to become a bull rider. “The first time you ride and you get to that eight-second whistle it doesn’t matter which bull or what your fear is—you feel 10 feet tall. It is the best feeling of accomplishment, because it’s terrifying,” according to Mike. In 2003, Mike received a phone call that changed his life forever. He learned his brother Thomas was one of two soldiers killed and nine soldiers injured in Iraq on Memorial Day. Following his brother’s death, it became Mike’s mission to tell his brother’s story as well as the stories of all those who protect our freedoms. In just a few years, Mike went from calling into a local radio show to hosting the #1 morning drive show in Phoenix, as well as being a popular public speaker, TV host, and frequent guest host for Glenn Beck. In If You’re Gonna Be Dumb, You Better Be Tough, Mike shares common-sense lessons from his blue-collar roots, his many bull riding injuries, and broadcast career to help you succeed in life and business.

Suzy Giordano, affectionately known as "The Baby Coach," shares her highly effective sleep-training method in this step-by-step guide to let both baby and parent enjoy long, peaceful nights. Full of common sense and specific tips, the Baby Coach's plan offers time- and family-tested techniques to help any baby up to the age of 18 months who has trouble sleeping through the night. Originally developed for newborn multiples, this sleep-training method worked so well with twins and triplets that families with singletons and older babies began asking Suzy to share her recipe for success, resulting in: regular feeding times; 12 hours' sleep at night; three hours' sleep during the day; peace of mind for parent and baby; and less strain on parents - and their marriage. This edition includes a new chapter on implementing the program with babies up to 18 months.

An expanded edition of the only comprehensive illustrated history of New York—with more than 600 ravishing photographs and illustrations—that tells the remarkable 400-year-long story of the city from its beginning in 1624 up to the current moment. The companion volume to the acclaimed PBS series. This landmark book traces the spectacular growth of New York from its initial settlement on the tip of Manhattan through the destruction wrought by the Revolutionary War to its rise as the nation’s premier commercial capital and industrial center and as a magnet for immigrant hopes and dreams in the 19th century to its standing as a beacon of modern culture in the 20th century and as a worldwide symbol of resilience in the 21st century. The story continues here with new chapters delivering a sweeping portrait of New York at the dawn of the 21st century, when it emerged after decades of decline to assert its place at the very center of a new globalized culture. Here is a city challenged—indeed, sometimes shaken to its core—by a series of profound crises: the aftermath of 9/11, the continual struggle with racial injustice, the financial crisis of 2008, the devastation of Superstorm Sandy, the still unfolding cataclysm of the COVID-19 pandemic—whose earliest and deadliest urban epicenter was New York itself. Here too is a lively portrait of the city’s vibrant street life and culture: the birth of hip-hop in the South Bronx, Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s Gates in Central Park, the musicals of Broadway, the explosion in location filmmaking in every borough, the pivotal rise of the tech industry, and so much more. The history of this city—especially in the tumultuous and transformative two decades detailed in the new chapters—is an epic story of rebirth and growth, an astonishing transfiguration, still in progress, of the world’s first modern city into a model and prototype for the global city of the future.
Patients with cancer can suffer from a bewildering variety of neurologic signs and symptoms. The neurologic symptoms are often more disabling than the primary cancer. Symptoms including confusion, seizures, pain and paralysis may be a result of either metastases to the nervous system or one of several nonmetastatic complications of cancer. The physician who promptly recognizes neurologic symptoms occurring in a patient with cancer and makes an early diagnosis may prevent the symptoms from becoming permanently disabling or sometimes lethal. This monograph, an update of the first edition published in 1995, is divided into 3 sections. The first classifies the wide variety of disorders that can cause neurologic symptoms the patient with cancer, discusses the pathophysiology of nervous system metastases, the pathophysiology and treatment of brain edema and the approach to supportive care of common neurologic symptoms such as seizures, pain, and side effects of commonly used supportive care agents. The second section is devoted to nervous system metastases, addressing in turn, brain, spinal cord, meningeal and cranial and peripheral nerve metastases, describing clinical symptoms, approach to diagnosis and current treatment. The third section addresses several nonmetastatic complications of cancer and includes sections on vascular disease, infections, metabolic and nutritional disorders, side chemotherapy, radiation and other diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The final chapter addresses paraneoplastic syndromes. The book is intended for practicing oncologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons and radiation oncologists as well as internists who treated patients with cancer. Our attempt was to write a book that would assist oncologists in understanding neurologic problems and neurologists in understanding oncologic problems. The book is also intended for physicians training to specialize in any of the above areas. It includes a practical approach to the diagnosis and management of patients with neurologic disease who are with known to have cancer or in whom cancer is suspected.
