In this inaugural book, Carter reflects on the trauma of childhood loss as a transcendent moment that affirmed God as truth. Her story of recognizing the presence of God in divine moments was the catalyst to transforming her vision into God’s purpose plan. For Carter, the key to unpacking God’s purposeful plan was to learn how to listen to God, so she would know what to expect, and what was expected in her pursuit of His plan for her vision. Her personal stories encourage and provide readers with a detailed account for creating a strategic vision map, as well as a step-by-step guide to help advance them from desired result to desired destination.

The year is 1900 and young mother Annaliese Stregal is forced by her husband, John, to leave their comfortable life in Louisville, Kentucky to live in a lumber camp in the north Georgia mountains where he has launched a timber business with his brother. Joining her there with even more outrage and dismay is the prickly sister-in-law she loathes, Lucenia, who is full of opinions about every women's issue of the day - social justice for the oppressed, equal rights, birth control, the morality of female sexual pleasure - and possessing not one domestic skill. To protect their children and battle the mountain enemies they have in common, the women strike a fragile truce, but a new national controversy is gaining steam: the annihilation of America's forests, and this one Annaliese cannot ignore. The brothers pick up their pace in scraping their fortune off the pristine hillsides just as John begins to unravel, putting the families' future in jeopardy. Unlikely help comes from a pair of Cherokee Indian brothers, but it is Annaliese who must act decisively to save John from the grisly reckoning he foresaw all along and save the mountains from him.

Lucy, Marc and their three children are planning a big bash for the July 4th holiday. The family will be heading to Armorstown to celebrate the holiday with Livvy, Ted and little Emma. What the Winstons don't know is, although weak and in ill health by now, Eileen will be attending, along with Livvy's parents Edgar and Lavinia, Bertha and their new friend Bruce, who now lives in the old Carter homestead as the caretaker. Things go as planned until a setback arises concerning Eileen. What transpires as each event unfolds tells the story of unsurpassed love, devotion and faith in God, which trumps any love that can be found on earth. A big surprise is in store for the entire troupe. This surprise occurs toward the end of the visit. What is the surprise? Only after reading Volume Three will you know. For those who are unfamiliar with who I am, let me share some tidbits. My name is Linda J. Hernandez. I have lived in Colton, California since 1981. I previously lived in Needles, California, and briefly in Yuma, Arizona and Cleveland, Ohio prior to my relocation to Colton. I was the eldest daughter of a large brood of children. My favorite pastime as a child was to play classical piano for hours on end. When I graduated from high school I was a superb pianist and dreamed that one day I would play at Carnegie Hall alongside Van Cliburn. Alas, this was not to be, but I kept my dream alive by staying as close as possible to those 88 beautiful keys. My dream came close to reality when I found a Steinway concert grand in a music store one day; I sat down and played Chopin's Revolutionary Etude, much to the delight of about fifty patrons inside the store. Years later, while working for the County of San Bernardino, I was approached by my sister Janice, who encouraged me to try my hand at writing. I shelved that thought for about six years, then decided to write. A painstaking decision, but it was a promise I made to her before her death in 1997. Every page I write has her influence on it. Coupled with my strong Baptist upbringing, my books are one of the last items on my personal "bucket list.
Mick Carter is a rising star in the contemporary music world. He loves the crowds, the singing, and the praises he leads in the concerts. A man of God who has spent his life inspiring others is jolted by events that send him to prison for fifteen years for a crime he did not commit. His faith in God is challenged by the men he meets in prison, but they are all he has, and he learns how thirsty they are for meaning and purpose for their lives. He discovers God’s plan for him among the lost, angry, and afraid souls in the prison as he begins to share his faith. Like Joseph in Genesis, Carter finds God’s purpose for him is greater than anything he could have planned.
For many years, what has been known about recovery from addictive behaviors has come solely from treatment studies. Only recently has the study of recoveries in the absence of formal treatment or self-help groups provided an alternative source of information. This book on the process of self-change from addictive behaviors is the first of its kind, as it presents more than research findings. Rather, it presents the process of self-change from several different perspectives - environmental, cross-cultural, prevention and interventions at both societal and individual level. It provides strategies for how health care practitioners and government policy makers alike can aid and foster self-change. Directions for future research priorities are also presented.
Carter and Pickett explore how educators and families can teach peace education through youth literature and literacy development. Showing how to assess, choose, and make use of literature that can be used to teach both literacy and peace education, they walk through individual methods: recognizing and teaching different portrayals of conflict in youth literature, analyzing characterization, and examining the role of illustrations. Educators who want to incorporate peace education within a broader, literacy-focused curriculum, and peace educators looking for age-appropriate materials and methodologies will find Youth Literature for Peace Education a rich and interdisciplinary resource.
Light and Living Salads is the sixth in a series of cookbooks taken from the massive, original, out of print Nature's Nook cookbook, a great cookbook, we wrote many years ago when we owned Nature's Nook vegetarian restaurant and yoga studio in Boardman, Ohio. It contained all the recipes we used every day in the restaurant, plus it had tons of other natural cooking tips, techniques, and nutritional information we learned over the years. This cookbook, Light and Living Salads, contains seventy-six vegetarian and plant-based recipes for the salads we served. It is full of tasty, healthy, alternative salad dishes that provide good nutrition and are easy to prepare, like Autumn Symphony, Raw Sprouted Soy Salad, and Oranges Perfumed with Cinnamon, to name just a few. Please look for more cookbooks in the Nature's Nook series.
Gain an in-depth understanding of changes in technical services that have taken place over a quarter century and look at future trends and changes that may occur. Technical Services Management surveys and analyzes technical services in libraries from 1965 to 1990, a formative period and one of great change in library operations. The book also identifies trends that continue to impact technical services operations in libraries today. Readers gain a comprehensive knowledge of where the field has been and where it is now to help them plan and prepare more effectively for the future. Most chapters are historical, combined with a firm grasp of the present and a glimpse or more at the future. They are grouped to reflect the various aspects of technical services. Trends in technical services are considered in chapters on the development of technical services literature and the major changes in technical services in school libraries. Chapters on the major subdivisions within technical services--acquisitions and collection development, cataloging, and preservation--trace changes in library operations and the impact of automation. Issues in catalog design are explored in chapters on the emergence of online public access catalogs, bibliographic utilities, and approaches to authority control. Efforts to improve subject access are addressed through chapters on subject cataloging, the Dewey Decimal Classification, and indexing in the U.S. and Great Britain. To keep pace with changes in technical services, changes in professional education and development are needed as documented in chapters on cataloging education, continuing education in technical services, and the role of professional organizations. The final chapter outlines new challenges in the future and new roles for librarians in an electronic environment. Effective planning for the future includes learning about the past. Technical Services Management, 1965--1990 is a vital resource for library historians, library educators, technical services librarians, and graduate students in library and information science who need to know “how things were” in order to see more clearly “how things will be.”
Does a person have the ability to decide their own sexual orientation? Born-again believers in Christ Jesus contend that God gives a definitive answer in His written word(The Holy Bible), that lesbianism is not only wrong (Romans 1:26-27), but is an abomination to Him (Leviticus 18:22)
