A deep dive into one of the most widely reported mysteries of the mind—both the scientific and paranormal theories—from the authors of The Grid. You feel like you’ve done something before . . . even as you do it for the very first time. You engage in a conversation and suddenly realize you’ve spoken those same words before . . . to the very same person. Yet you’re positive it’s the first time you’ve ever met. Déjà vu is the eerie sensation of “remembering” an experience or situation that never occurred. Scientific research into déjà vu has revealed intriguing theories, ranging from short-term memory misfires to neurophysiological disorders. Yet other theories suggest more paranormal causes for déjà vu, such as glimpses into parallel realities. Perhaps the true explanation lies somewhere in between. But déjà vu is only one of the many mysteries of the mind. The Déjà Vu Enigma also explores: Memory lapses, missing time, and fugue states The brain as both receiver and transmitter of reality Altered states of perception and consciousness, from hallucinations to religious visions Contagious thought, curses, demonic possession, and mass hysteria Dream states, lucid dreaming, and precognitive dreams The Grid and parallel universes as travel routes for mind trips, brain flips, and time slips Come journey through a world as vast and uncharted as the Cosmos. A journey through the Inner Universe—the human mind. “From the dynamic team of Marie D. Jones & Larry Flaxman who have brought us some many wonderful books on fringe subject matter . . . a completely thought-provoking study.” —HorrorNews.net

Through his highly original and unique approach to fiction, Larry L. Burge breaks the mold with his new age tale. The Levels is a complicated story that links fact with fiction to produce a gripping tale about young men and women who live from 1925-1945. The reader follows the book's hero, Guy Harvey, through his adventures that begin in Arkansas's Ozark Hills, range to the far corners of the earth, journey into Earth's metaphysical dimension and end after his return from WWII. Burge uses true stories told him by the late Guy Loyd during their 40-year friendship as the basis for his works. The book's war story forms around Lt. Guy Loyd's original US Navy orders with one of the most elite WW II units, the US Navy's Bomb Disposal School. In The Levels, Loyd's orders are timely interwoven with actual WWII events. The author uses Loyd's meditative papers - written down after his return from his metaphysical travels into the spirit world - that present mankind's life school Spirit Lessons. In The Levels, angels disguised as people introduce Guy Harvey to the first three of the seven Spirit Lessons. The angels explain to Harvey that the Hierarchy council had commissioned him as the earth's Spirit Interpreter and had assigned him the job to pass the Spirit Lessons along to mankind. Harvey soon discovers that the first three Spirit Lessons have the potential to bring about world peace. Guy Loyd told the author stories about how his WWII unit became the predecessor to today's US Navy Seals. The author uses this information to develop the fictitious Strategic Amphibious Covert Operations force (SACO). The book includes true stories told by Mr. Loyd about how General MacArthur used his unit as athink-tank to solve battlefield problems encountered during the war effort. Loyd said the unit named itself the Department of Leftover Operations, for they developed tactics, and trained men to solve the general's problems. Burge adds to The Levels a love story where Guy Harvey finally notices his high school sweetheart as his soul mate, Sandy Lawlar. Sandy, a US Navy nurse, becomes Pearl Harbor Hospital's nursing director before the bombing of December 7, 1941. She mysterious disappears the day before the Japanese invasion. Lt. Harvey does not know her fate until after he plans at war's end and goes on a mission to find out what has happened to her. The Levels provides the reader with drama, suspense, and a flow toward a climax with a sense and action rarely seen from a first-time novelist. From the tale's simple beginning through its surprise end, Burge proves himself a masterful storyteller. The author's apparent acquaintance with the Spirit World and mankind's seven Spirit Lessons adds to a thought-provoking story, making the tale seem believable and almost real.
