The Christian faith is based on historical truths that, if properly understood, can be defended as truth and not wishful thinking. In a day and age where it is said that truth does not exist, or that truth is whatever people believe it is, Christians must stand up and present the truth of Jesus Christ in a loving and clear way. We are to be prepared at all times to defend our faith, why we believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. This book lays out the traditional arguments for the existence of God, proves that there must be only one God for anything to exist that does exist, and then it demonstrates that the only God is Jesus Christ. Moreover, the Bible is shown to be reliable and believable, for it is the logical avenue through which God, if He exists, would communicate with His people.

What is it that a believer in Christ is called to? In this book Lance Lambert explores deeper into what God has for His children and the way to go on fully into this eternal glorious purpose unto which He has called His own.
This book is a call and a challenge to genuine intercession and is directed to the remnant of the faithful in the Western nations. The climax of the battle is ahead of us, and we need to know what we face and the safety we have in the Lord Jesus. In Him, we have absolute protection. He is our armor for the conflict, and we need to know how to stand, withstand, and having done all continue to stand in Him and in His power and strength. If once we learn to abide in the Lord Jesus, to remain where God has placed us, by the Holy Spirit we will overcome.
The aughts was a strange era for everyone. America finally filled that hammer-and-sickle-size hole in its heart with turbans and beards. High schoolers went from wearing JNCO denim tents to hermetically sealed Jeggings. And someone declared war on Christmas. Youth Group: Coming of age in the church of Christian nationalism follows the life of a missionary kid as he traverses the bizarre world of anti-masturbation purity groups, CD immolation parties, the culture wars, and an occasional exorcism. Author Lance Aksamit explores how and why the Evangelical church didn’t simply jump into bed with but became Christian Nationalists.
Widespread deficiencies in spiritual formation see an increasing number of ministers buckle under the significant burdens common to the task. There are seasons when a powerful triad of the flesh, the world, and the devil converge (Eph 2:2–3, cf. Jas 3:15 and 1 John 2:16). Misdirected attempts to fulfill emptiness, find worth, or heal longstanding wounds ensue. Widespread instances of sexual immorality result. Sound exegesis and analysis of theological doctrine presents an allowance, in certain cases, for ministerial restoration. However, this necessitates an intimate and intricate approach that differs significantly from the varied solutions churches and denominations offer. Few restoration programs bring a biblical response to bear. Remarkably rare are restoration programs that look to correct causal factors and commit to congregational care. This program orients itself on an understanding of brokenness and the need for holistic (re)formation. The latter requires fallen ministers to progress beyond biblical confession and repentance to partner with the Holy Spirit and key authorities such as an overseer, mentors, Christian mental health professionals, and a designated congregation. The unitive goal is a “sanctifying psychopathology” that properly diagnoses spiritual and emotional health; eradicates the adverse influences of emotional, cultural, and spiritual factors; and redirects self-oriented patterns of thought and behavior.

With essays ranging in focus from textual analysis to film and new media adaptations, to implications of war/trauma and race and gender, this cutting-edge New Casebook encourages readers to think about this much-loved series in fresh and exciting ways.
In Jesus' view, "many" are wrong about being right with God. They anticipate a home in heaven but will receive an eternal eviction. How can we be sure that we are not among the many? This book will help you find that answer. Presented from a pastor's heart, this work combines exegetical analysis, theological acumen, and practical ministerial insight to help you obtain and maintain a saving relationship with God. The Parable of the Sower serves as the roadmap on our journey, as it provides remarkable insight on why "many" seeds fail to find good ground or bring forth good fruit. Jesus also reveals how we can tap the unimaginable potential for personal and kingdom growth contained within. The first section breaks up the hard ground to reveal the deep truths of sin and salvation. The second section identifies ways to overcome the stones that prevent spiritual growth--offense, unforgiveness, fear, solitude, and complacency. The third section analyzes the postmodern worldviews, deficient theologies, materialism, and the idolatry of self that suffocates many growing Christians. Only the believer who rightly responds to God can begin to live for God and ultimately live from God. This is God's salvation. Is it yours?
Appendix A" (p. [134]-187) contains the Coptic text of the Gospel of Judas as transcribed from the Codex Tchacos, with English translation on facing pages.
The Disturbing Nature of Christianity challenges the reader to look at the central truths of Christianity with unflinching honesty. Excerpts from The Disturbing Nature of Christianity: The message of the Bible is clear. The great majority of humanity (including that humanity we personally know) will be offended and reject the salvation offered by God the Father through His Son. Do you find that truth disturbing? If so you are experiencing a natural consequence of taking Jesus teaching seriously. Jesus told us that if you are a Christian you are in a tiny minority. And as we have seen in our study the true Christian is in a minority even in conservative evangelical churches. In his classic book The Cost of Discipleship, the world-renowned theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer explains Christs teaching in the Sermon on the Mount. The following is teaching I never heard from any pulpit or any Bible teacher in my 35 years as a Christian. (Concerning Matthew 7:13-14) A little band of men, the followers of Christ, are separated from the rest of the world. The disciples are few in number, and will always be few. The saying of Jesus forestalls all exaggerated hopes of success. Never let a disciple of Jesus pin his hopes on large numbers. The only comfort the disciples have in face of this prospect is the promise of life and eternal fellowship with Jesus. (p. 211) (Concerning Matthew 10) The Messengers of Jesus will be hated to the end of time. They will be blamed for all the divisions, which rend cities and homes. Jesus and his disciples will be condemned on all sides for undermining family life, and for leading the nation astray, they will be called crazy fanatics and disturbers of the peace (p. 239)
Hugo Lundhaug and Lance Jenott offer a sustained argument for the monastic provenance of the Nag Hammadi Codices. They examine the arguments for and against a monastic Sitz im Leben and defend the view that the Codices were produced and read by Christian monks, most likely Pachomians, in the fourth- and fifth-century monasteries of Upper Egypt. Eschewing the modern classification of the Nag Hammadi texts as “Gnostic,” the authors approach the codices and their ancient owners from the perspective of the diverse monastic culture of late antique Egypt and situate them in the context of the ongoing controversies over extra-canonical literature and the theological legacy of Origen. Through a combination of sources, including idealized hagiographies, travelogues, monastic rules and exhortations, and the more quotidian details revealed in documentary papyri, manuscript collections, and archaeology, monasticism in the Thebaid is brought to life, and the Nag Hammadi codices situated within it. The cartonnage papyri from the leather covers of the codices, which bear witness to the monastic culture of the region, are closely examined, while scribal and codicological features of the codices are analyzed and compared with contemporary manuscripts from Egypt. Special attention is given to the codices’ scribal notes and colophons which offer direct evidence of their producers and users. The study ultimately reveals the Nag Hammadi Codices as a collection of books completely at home in the monastic manuscript culture of late antique Egypt."--

And we have the word of prophecy made more sure; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day-star arise in your hearts. (II Peter 1:9) The word of prophecy was not given that we might merely be comforted but that we would be prepared and made ready. Let us look into the Word of God together, searching out the prophecies, that the Day-Star arise in our hearts until the Day dawns.
...behind the scenes of this [Paul's] power-packed letter... -Wayne Jacobsen, Author He Loves Me and So You Don't Want to Go to Church Anymore ...story-like narration and floodlight insight... -John Lindner, President, World Christian Ministries; Editor, World Christian Ministries Newsletter; Author: God's Special Agents and The Mountains Shall Sing ...readable, and yet profoundly poignant... -Mark Haskins, PhD., Darden Graduate School of Business, University of Virginia A recent survey of self-identified Christians by noted researcher George Barna yielded this astonishing result: fully 81% of those surveyed said that maturity in Christ is measured by how well one keeps the rules. But when did 'keeping the rules' become a benchmark of those who follow Christ? And how have we traded in the Life giving power of the Lord Jesus for a set of restrictions? In his new book, Walking the Galatian Road, Moving from Law to Life, Lance Thollander peels back the layers of how we got there and shows present-day believers how to leave a life characterized by legalism and guilt and return to the freedom of living by Christ. Motivated by forty years of experience including relationships with God's people in many parts of the world, Thollander gives examples to show how the incredible vitality and freedom found in Paul's letter to the Galatians has been stolen away from believers. Then he returns the readers to the simplicity of life in the Spirit. A powerful combination of history and present-day reality in an easy-to-read format, this book takes the pressure off worn-out Christians to perform. If you are looking for a book that can restore your 'first love' relationship with your Heavenly Father; that takes a fearless look at how guilt has operated to short circuit your faith; and that provides frequent invitations for the reader to stop and spend time in the presence of a liberating and loving God, then Walking the Galatian Road, Moving from Law to Life is the book for you.
This engaging study reflects the growing interest in the relationship of John's Gospel the Roman imperial context in which it was composed. It begins and ends with quotations from modern sources that show why the question might be of more than historical interest. The first quotation is from the Barmen Declaration of 1934, in which Christian leaders who resisted the advances of Nazism pointed to the lordship of Christ over the claims of the state (p. xi). The final quotation is from Pope Pius XI, who in 1925 affirmed Christ's lordship in the wake of cultural currents that removed modern nation states from the claims of the higher authority of God (p. 185). The problems raised by conflicts between the claims of human government and those of Christian faith provide an important reason to consider what these meant for early Christians, including those for whom John's Gospel was written. There is an old saying that invention is the mother of necessity and this book is a result of that idea. There would never be a need for such a book if the religions and religious authority would practice their traditions like Native Americans or the Australian aborigines. We know they have their gods, costumes, and traditions and just about everyone (bar a few religious fanatics) respects cultural heritage and wants them to revel in their anthropological significance. In the same token, the likelihood that a Native American or aborigine is going to show up at your door preaching that Bahloo, the sun god, is the reason man hates snakes and if you do not accept Bahloo as your savior, you will be walking the desert forever, is essentially non-existent. Your author, Lance Gregorchuk, designed this book to give the free thinker, agnostic, atheist, fence sitter and even believer the facts for the arguments that there can be no god or gods.
Has the Lord called you to serve Him? What kind of qualities do servants of God have? How can we gain these qualities? In Qualities of God’s Servants Lance shares the answers to these questions and more, shedding light on the way God prepares for those who serve Him!
A Psalm of David. Jehovah saith unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, Until I make thine enemies thy footstool. Jehovah will send forth the rod of thy strength out of Zion: Rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. Thy people offer themselves willingly In the day of thy power, in holy array: Out of the womb of the morning Thou hast the dew of thy youth. Jehovah hath sworn, and will not repent: Thou art a priest for ever After the order of Melchizedek. The Lord at thy right hand Will strike through kings in the day of his wrath. He will judge among the nations, He will fill the places with dead bodies; He will strike through the head in many countries. He will drink of the brook in the way: Therefore will he lift up the head. Psalm 110
“If any man come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.” These words, spoken by the Lord Jesus without any preamble are the very heart of discipleship. Here we have the heart of what it is to be a child of God. This is not just something to do with deeper life, this lies at the center of the gospel.
Thousands of religions have adherents today, and countless more have existed throughout history. What accounts for this astonishing diversity? This extraordinarily ambitious and comprehensive book demonstrates how evolutionary systematics and philosophy can yield new insight into the development of organized religion. Lance Grande—a leading evolutionary systematist—examines the growth and diversification of hundreds of religions over time, highlighting their historical interrelationships. Combining evolutionary theory with a wealth of cultural records, he explores the formation, extinction, and diversification of different world religions, including the many branches of Asian cyclicism, polytheism, and monotheism. Grande deploys an illuminating graphic system of evolutionary trees to illustrate historical interrelationships among the world’s major religious traditions, rejecting colonialist and hierarchical “ladder of progress” views of evolution. Extensive and informative illustrations clearly and vividly indicate complex historical developments and help readers grasp the breadth of interconnections across eras and cultures. The Evolution of Religions marshals compelling evidence, starting far back in time, that all major belief systems are related, despite the many conflicts that have taken place among them. By emphasizing these broad historical interconnections, this book promotes the need for greater tolerance and deeper, unbiased understanding of cultural diversity. Such traits may be necessary for the future survival of humanity.
We have a tremendous heritage of movements of God. While the movements have died, crystalized and become institutionalized, the actual recovery is still with us. Thank God it is the Lord Jesus who said “I will build My church,” and what He is recovering, He is recovering. It is never lost again. In What is God Doing? Lance covers many different movements of God. What happened in these moves? What is God doing now? May His Church be encouraged by what He has done, is doing, and will do in the time to come.
