An alpha with an unavoidable Arctic mission. A naturalist who will stop him at any cost. The wilderness guide who's trapped with them on a long, winter's ride... Kane Simon has never learned the word no. But when his alpha werewolf father dies and leaves conditions to his will, Kane finds himself stuck in a sticky situation: prove he's not just a spoiled playboy and take responsibility for his father's company and pack. Specifically, find a vein of the elusive Luprite ore, which werewolves need to shift. Before his death, Kane's father had found several veins suitable for mining, the largest one being in the lower reaches of the Arctic Circle. But when Kane sees who's sitting beside him on the plane to White Lake, Alaska, he can't believe his horrible luck: Aubrey Sanders—environmentalist, tree-hugger, and general pain in the backside. Except he can't stop looking at her gorgeous green eyes, and something about sitting so close to her is making him desperate for a cold shower. Aubrey Sanders is no stranger to Kane, or to the Simons' company. They've destroyed habitats in the Amazon, Africa, and the Arctic, causing irreparable environmental harm in their frenzy to mine their way to fame and fortune. On her way to Alaska to stop him, puma shifter Aubrey can't believe she's even letting that mangy wolf sit next to her. She needs to dig up evidence against the charming rogue's company that she can use to block their new mine, which threatens to wipe out one of the last caribou herds in the area. She does not need to be distracted by his wit, his gorgeous dark eyes, and that body that makes her want to rub herself against him like a cat in heat. Thank goodness that when they land, they'll each be going their separate ways. Wilderness guide Noah Casey has always loved the arctic. As an arctic wolf shifter, he's more comfortable traveling by dog sled across the snow than being imprisoned within four walls in the city where he grew up. But a man's gotta feed his dogs, so when he gets two paying clients in one day to deliver to Wolf Peak, a week's journey by dogsled into the wilderness, he can't very well refuse. Except one of those clients turns out to be Kane Simon, his deepest crush from high school. The guy who never gave him the time of day. And the woman...something about her was making it hard to keep his wolf inside his skin. When Kane and Aubrey realize they've hired the same guide, and will be sharing close quarters for the duration of their trip, neither one can relax. With all the attraction burning the air, it's not long before the threesome finds themselves in bed, unable to resist the three-way chemistry. Their sex is amazing, but it soon becomes clear that Aubrey can't find anything to block the building of the mine, which will destroy not only the ecosystem but Noah's home. And Kane cannot refuse to fulfill his obligation to his father as his pack as their new alpha—he must bring them the Luprite. It seems like nothing in the world can heal the rift that opens between them, darker than the Alaskan winter and wider than the frozen North... Reader note: contains MMF bisexual menage and hot romance elements including male/male love, sexy werewolves, and feisty puma shifters

Museums and Social Activism is the first study to bring together historical accounts of the African American and later American Indian civil rights-related social and reform movements that took place on the Smithsonian Mall through the 1960s and 1970s in Washington DC with the significant but unknown story about museological transformation and curatorial activism that occurred in the Division of Political and Reform History at the National Museum of American History at this time. Based on interdisciplinary field-based research that has brought together cross-cultural and international perspectives from the fields of Museum Studies, Public History, Political Science and Social Movement Studies with empirical investigation, the book explores and analyses museums’ – specifically, curators’ – relationships with political stakeholders past and present. By understanding the transformations of an earlier period, Museums and Social Activism offers provocative perspectives on the cultural and political significance of contemporary museums. It highlights the relevance of past practice and events for museums today and improved ways of understanding the challenges and opportunities that result from the ongoing process of renewal that museums continue to exemplify.
THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU..YOU ARE DIVINE PERFECTION From birth we are conditioned to hate & criticize ourselves, becoming completely lost in a society that tells us we are not enough & need to be perfect to be accepted or fit in, then ourselves judge others for not being perfect! This is why rejection hurts so much, we have been rejecting ourselves our entire lives with the way we seek love, approval & validation being through other people & external things, which are unreliable sources because people only reflect back to us, what we truly think about ourselves. This can only be healed from within, so learning to love ourselves regardless with a solid inner foundation of trust, establishing emotional stability & unconditional self-acceptance knowing we are always OK exactly as we are, is what you will learn & discover within this book. You are the only one that teaches people how to treat you & when you love yourself, setting healthy boundaries is easy because you honour your worth & know what you deserve. Our birthright natural state of being is, All is well but with non-stop brain washing, we can become enslaved to a system that tells us we don’t matter, suffering in an illusion of lack, fear & separation from ourselves & others, that creates chaos & dis-ease within our physical body or human meatsuit, locking your brain in survival mode & overthinking. With the truth of who we really are & where we came from being hidden, that reveals we matter way more than you could ever imagine. We are an angelic superhuman race that are destined to be the guardians of the multiverse with limitless co-creating abilities to manifest our own realities through words, thoughts, emotions & energy, manipulating matter with our vibrational frequencies as beings of light but first we need to master our minds. It is my sincerest hope that what I’ve learnt through my own journey is a beacon of guiding light to you, from self-hate to ultimate self-love, with your top priority always being, to become your own best friend! With a heart full of gratitude & blessings to you, Love Kylie

Impossible Mourning argues that while the HIV/AIDS epidemic has figured largely in public discourse in South Africa over the last ten years, particularly in debates about governance and constitutional rights post-apartheid, the experiences of people living with HIV for the most part remain invisible and the multiple losses due to AIDS have gone publicly unmourned. This profound fact is at the center of this book which explores the significance of the disavowal of AIDS-death in relation to violence, death, and mourning under apartheid. Impossible Mourning shows how in spite of the magnitude of the epidemic and as a result of the stigma and discrimination that has largely characterized both national and personal responses to the epidemic, spaces for the expression of collective mourning have been few. This book engages with multiple forms of visual representation that work variously to compound, undo, and complicate the politics of loss. Drawing on work Thomas did in art and narrative support groups while working with people living with HIV/AIDS in Khayelitsha, a township outside of the city of Cape Town this book also includes analyses of the work of South African visual artists and photographers Jane Alexander, Gille de Vlieg, Jillian Edelstein, Pieter Hugo, Ezrom Legae, Gideon Mendel, Zanele Muholi, Sam Nhlengethwa, Paul Stopforth, and Diane Victor.
The easy interface of touchscreen technologies like tablets and smartphones has enabled children to access the digital world from a very young age. But while some commentators are enthusiastic about how this can open a new world for fun, learning, and developing digital skills, others see the dangers of yet more screens, inauthentic play, and time spent isolated with electronic babysitters that detract from interaction with parents and learning social skills. Taking five as the age when children transition into formal education, this book draws on a three-year research project examining the realities of under six-year-olds' experiences of these technologies in the UK and Australia. With a theoretical context including Vygotsky, Bruner, Bronfenbrenner and Flewitt, the book examines how parents of young children evaluate the opportunities and risks of children's digital media use in the context of other significant influences such as children's time with grandparents, early childhood care and education. Drawing on in-depth interviews with 22 families, and rich ethnographic data from observation and exchanges with their 29 children, aged four months to five years, the book reveals how digital technologies complement and challenge important aspects of daily life for infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
“Temara had done her species proud and proven that captive orangutans do have a place in the jungle of tomorrow. I felt honoured that I was by her side during the first part of her remarkable world-first journey.” In 2006, Kylie Bullo and her colleagues at Perth Zoo were part of a bold, groundbreaking experiment that many experts believed was doomed to failure – to return a zoo-born orangutan to the wild. The orangutan they chose was Temara, a fiery redhead with a will of her own. Temara had always been strong, intelligent and independent, but preparing for the return to the jungles of her ancestors would put all her best qualities – and those of her keepers – to the test. This is the story of that remarkable journey and of the remarkable woman who helped make it happen. It proves that the right blend of passion, compassion and hard work can achieve what many thought was impossible. And it brings new hope to those fighting to bring this magnificent creature back from the brink of extinction.
