A sharp study of the evolution of the e-commerce sector in India and how it is reshaping the way we do business. Whether we?re hailing a cab or ordering food, buying groceries or shopping for clothes, booking a hotel or finding the right doctor ? our lives today are lived online. For a population with severe trust issues with online payments, Indian consumers have embraced ecommerce with phenomenal enthusiasm in the past few years. In turn, an incredible number of e-commerce companies operate here today, the more successful among them disrupting business paradigms and changing the way products and services are bought, sold and consumed in the country. Just how has this transformation come about? Through the stories of eight players that have experienced the incredible highs and lows that the industry has witnessed ? Flipkart, Snapdeal, MakeMyTrip, Pepperfry, Just Dial, redBus, InMobi, Paytm ? that have experienced the incredible highs and lows that the industry has witnessed, this book unravels the incredible story of the evolution of e-commerce in India. Taking into account the recent rumblings that have shaken the industry ? from competitive pricing and discount wars to devaluation of former star companies to new and stringent government regulations ? Click! presents a long view of where the industry is headed and presents an incisive vision of it that is both inspirational and cautionary.
This book presents multibiometric watermarking techniques for security of biometric data. This book also covers transform domain multibiometric watermarking techniques and their advantages and limitations. The authors have developed novel watermarking techniques with a combination of Compressive Sensing (CS) theory for the security of biometric data at the system database of the biometric system. The authors show how these techniques offer higher robustness, authenticity, better imperceptibility, increased payload capacity, and secure biometric watermarks. They show how to use the CS theory for the security of biometric watermarks before embedding into the host biometric data. The suggested methods may find potential applications in the security of biometric data at various banking applications, access control of laboratories, nuclear power stations, military base, and airports.
Can Ashoka conquer his enemies, or will his own demons get the better of him? Known in far reaches of the world as a great conqueror, emperor Bindusara rules over much of India with an iron fist. When a Brahmin prophesies that his wife, the beautiful Subhadrangi, will birth a legendary ruler, Bindusara is ecstatic. This handbook delivers the assistance you need to provide timely and effective, evidence-based consultations for a range of commonly encountered clinical situations. This book will help you: navigate the most common clinical scenarios requiring medical consultation by reviewing 20-25 clinical questions for each patient type; locate evidence-based answers for each question, collected from the latest clinical findings; and find the information you need quickly thanks to a user-friendly format."--Résumé de l'éditeur.
Historically simulation was used as an education and training technique in healthcare, but now has an emerging role in improving quality and safety. Simulation-based techniques can be applied to help understand healthcare settings and the practices and behaviours of those who work in them. Simulation-based interventions can help to improve care and outcomes – for example, by improving readiness of teams to respond effectively to situations or to improve skill and speed. Simulation can also help test planned interventions and infrastructural changes, allowing possible vulnerabilities and risks to be identified and addressed. Challenges include cost, resources, training, and evaluation, and the lack of connection between the simulation and improvement fields, both in practice and in scholarship. The business case for simulation as an improvement technique remains to be established. This Element concludes by offering a way forward for simulation in practice and for future scholarly directions to improve the approach. This title is also available as Open Access on Cambridge Core.
This book provides information about wireless systems and WIMAX modeling. The authors provide various techniques for the WiMAX systems such as antenna diversity and Alamouti coding. The performance of these systems is tested using various types of data and the results of systems are presented and discussed. Additional topics include WiMAX simulation using diversity techniques and real time WiMAX system modeling. The book pertains to researchers, academics, students, and professionals. Provides information about wireless system modeling and WiMAX systems; Presents WiMAX system modeling using antenna diversity techniques and the Alamouti coding scheme; Includes real time WiMAX system modeling for speech signal and digital images.
India is a multicultural country, where people of different faiths live in harmony and celebrate their festivals in the spirit of fellowship and charity. Festivals link us to our tradition and culture and renew our spiritual and family bonds. This book presents an account of the major festivals celebrated in India by people of various religions.
After this comprehensive compilation of literature on elastics, we can say that they are and they will remain a very good method of force application in orthodontic clinic. They are inexpensive, relatively hygienic and they can be easily placed in patient’s mouth. The force applied by elastics is not constant, so the clinician must be careful when doing selection of elastic force for a particular application. After an exhaustive review of the literature regarding force decay of synthetic elastomeric chains, it can be said that most marketed chains behave in a similar fashion.
This book introduces methods for copyright protection and compression for speech signals. The first method introduces copyright protection of speech signal using watermarking; the second introduces compression of the speech signal using Compressive Sensing (CS). Both methods are tested and analyzed. The speech watermarking method uses technology such as Finite Ridgelet Transform (FRT), Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Singular Value Decomposition (SVD). The performance of the method is evaluated and compared with existing watermarking methods. In the speech compression method, the standard Compressive Sensing (CS) process is used for compression of the speech signal. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated using various transform bases like Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT), Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT), Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), Singular Value Decomposition (SVD), and Fast Discrete Curvelet Transform (FDCuT).
This book provides various speech enhancement algorithms for digital hearing aids. It covers information on noise signals extracted from silences of speech signal. The description of the algorithm used for this purpose is also provided. Different types of adaptive filters such as Least Mean Squares (LMS), Normalized LMS (NLMS) and Recursive Lease Squares (RLS) are described for noise reduction in the speech signals. Different types of noises are taken to generate noisy speech signals, and therefore information on various noises signals is provided. The comparative performance of various adaptive filters for noise reduction in speech signals is also described. In addition, the book provides a speech enhancement technique using adaptive filtering and necessary frequency strength enhancement using wavelet transform as per the requirement of audiogram for digital hearing aids. Presents speech enhancement techniques for improving performance of digital hearing aids; Covers various types of adaptive filters and their advantages and limitations; Provides a hybrid speech enhancement technique using wavelet transform and adaptive filters.
Business Law Essentials You Always Wanted To Know is a simple yet comprehensive introduction to the laws that impact businesses in the US. It is not advisable for a business founder or owner to be completely unaware of the implications of the legislation on their business and depend totally upon a lawyer to advise and guide them.
