Stem cells have great potential in regenerative medicine and tissue injury. Regulation of stem cell homeostasis in a 3D microenvironment is controlled by the niche components that influence stem cell fate, regulation, and function. It is therefore necessary to understand the mechanisms of cell–cell interaction, molecular cross talk between stem cells and their extracellular matrix (ECM) environment. The adhesion molecules play a pivotal role in establishing the cell–cell contact and subsequent integration with the ECM. This understanding is the basis for establishing design criteria for biomimetic. The integrated approach by biologists, material science engineers, biomedical engineers, and clinicians is the key in the development of tissue engineered constructs for effective translation to clinics.
We have tried to present an overview of one-hundred-year-old movie history (all over the world), which has both positive and negative aspects for the creator and the viewer. This is especially true of the three leading commercial centersBollywood (Bombay Hindi movies), Hollywood (USA), and Japan. Images moved in 1892 and started talking in 1923 in The Jazz Singer (Hollywood). It has remarkable achievements both on epic and offbeat levels. They cast a hypnotic spell and emotional bonding of the viewers with the star performers and singers. The identification with the character and their predicament is the magnetism, which is unparalleled compared to other arts like literature, painting, music, etc. Movies combine all the three major art forms besides the charisma of the stars. But it has its flip side also, like the dark space between stars littered with broken hearts and lives and the questionable impact of the crass, commercial movie with an eye on profit at any cost. However, we can make it more powerful and positive. The book is an exciting romp through the stellar world of movies and their creators.
Urticaria, also known as hives, is an outbreak of swollen, pale red bumps or plaques (wheals) on the skin that appear suddenly, either as a result of the body's reaction to certain allergens, or for unknown reasons. Hives usually cause itching, but may also burn or sting. They can appear anywhere on the body, including the face, lips, tongue, throat, or ears; and they vary in size (from a pencil eraser to a dinner plate), and may join together to form larger areas known as plaques. They can last for hours, or up to one day before fading. This book comprises 33 different urticaria cases from renowned authors at worldwide Urticaria Centres of Reference and Excellence (UCARE). Each case presents patient history and examination, investigation, and diagnosis and management. Clinical images and figures further enhance each case description. There are scores of excellent books and monographs dealing with the different aspects of rice, an important crop of India. However, no books are available dealing with the theme of the present book. Incidence of molds and mycotoxins on stored grains is a neglected area when compared to other-aspects of crops. It did not receive the attention as it deserved. The present book: Moulds and Mycotoxins of Paddy: Incidence, Impact and Management is an authoritative and research based book on the subject. It is the outcome of extensive research work carried out by the authors over the past few years. It primarily deals with the extent of incidence of molds and mycotoxins and their impact on quality of rice and management practices to be adopted in Andhra Pradesh. Special emphasis is given to territrem B mycotoxin incidence and its biological effects. Efforts are made to devise suitable preventive and control measures of paddy moulds and mycotoxins. Information embodied in this book will be useful to researchers working in this area, policy – makers, agriculture scientists, extension workers, ware-house managers, farmers and also consumers.

Atopic dermatitis, or eczema, is a condition that makes the skin red and itchy. It is common in children but can occur at any age. Atopic dermatitis is long lasting (chronic) and tends to flare periodically. It may be accompanied by asthma or hay fever. No cure has been found for atopic dermatitis, but treatments and self-care measures such as avoiding harsh soaps, moisturising, and applying medicated creams or ointments, can relieve itching and prevent new outbreaks. Pruritus, or itchy skin, is an uncomfortable, irritating sensation that makes a person want to scratch. It is often caused by dry skin and is more common in older adults, as skin tends to become drier with age. Depending on the cause of the itchiness, the skin may appear normal, red, rough or bumpy. Repeated scratching can cause raised thick areas of skin that might bleed or become infected. Many people find relief with self-care measures such as moisturising daily, using gentle cleansers and bathing with lukewarm water. Long-term relief requires identifying and treating the cause of itchy skin. Common treatments are medicated creams, moist dressings and oral anti-itch medicines. This book presents 30 clinical cases of patients with atopic dermatitis or pruritus. Each case is explained in a step-by-step manner, detailing history and symptoms, investigation techniques, diagnosis, and management. Many cases cover comorbid conditions associated with these skin disorders. Authored by recognised experts from worldwide Atopic Dermatitis Centres of Reference and Excellence (ADCARE), the practical text is further enhanced by photographs and figures.
