After recently losing his mother, 11-year old Will Barnes is left with his father and his love of hunting. Will puts everything he has into becoming a hunter his father will be proud of. Will is certain his dad won't make him wait until he's 12 to go hunting, but when his dad discovers him and his best friend pretending to hunt in the living room, he is less than amused. Now in order to hunt when he turns 12, Will must prove to his father that he is mature enough to handle the responsibilities that come with the sport. Over the next year, Will secretly learns everything he can about hunting, including how to read deer signs and how to be safe in the woods. Just before hunting season is about to begin, Will takes his dad on a walk through the woods to prove that he is ready to go on his very first hunt. Is this going to be the year that Will's father lets him hunt? Author Kerri J. Busteed was motivated to write this book by her husband's great love of hunting and her long, contemplative walks in the woods. Busteed works as a school and emergency department nurse. Children ages 7 to 12 will especially love Will's Bow Hunting Adventure. Set in Wisconsin, young Will recently finished his first hunting season, but he just doesn't feel happy. It isn't until Christmas, when Grandpa gives him a bow for a gift that Will realizes what has been missing is a new skill to learn. Will is an only child who lives on the family farm with his dad. After his mother passed away, the two discover a common bond in hunting. Will's best friend, Brian, also shares a love of hunting and the great outdoors. Stella is a girl in their class whose interest is intrigued when she hears Will and Brian talking about venison stew and sees pictures of the deer that live on Will's farm. She joins Will and Brian's quest to learn how to be great bow hunters. The friends join an archery league, build a practice shooting stand, and study the land for the best place to go bow hunting. When the boys get in trouble at school the day before the opening of bow deer season, their punishment is to present a report on how their first weekend of bow hunting went. Brian and Will tell of the deer they didn't catch, while Stella shares her successful hunt with the class. his outdoor adventure combines the learning of hunting skills with the skills needed to get along with others.

Her entire life she has felt neglected and always had to find her own way to get the attention she felt she deserved. Rachel grew up to be an amazing woman who co-founded her own magazine and married a successful pilot for a commercial airline. Shortly after getting married she became pregnant. Rachel felt her life would now be perfect, until her heart was broken after the birth of her child. Once her life starts to get back to normal she begins to feel lonely and depressed. She needs to find a way to get attention and unfortunately for her child, finds that by having a child who is sick the staff at the hospital gives her the attention she so desperately desires. How far will Rachel go to get attention?
