British history in the period from the restoration of 1660 to the revolution of 1688, no less than in other periods, has been subject to 'revisionism'. This volume examines and analyses some of the challenging new theories relating to politics, society, religion and culture that have attracted attention in recent years. It provides both a wide-ranging survey of the principal themes of the post-restoration era, and a series of insights derived from the detailed research of individual contributors.
Infinite Creator Drive Is way beyond a great read'. It's an epic journey.' The Story makes for an awesome travelling companion for those surfers and holiday makers requiring a great adventure of the mind and spirit. K.J.Gordon has taken the beauty of Australia, the World and the Universe and presented not only a great read, it propels a world embracing free energy. And yes there are consequences of Biblical proportions. The story has several plots some shallow and funny some deep and thought provoking. Infinite Creator Drive is an interesting space journey of discovery - As well as being thoroughly entertaining. L.Haydn Gully June 2015 REVIEW Infinite Creator Drive is a revealing romp through space. There is an abundance of plausible technology and future incite from the author K J GORDON. And there are aspects which really make the reader stop and think. The concept dealing with superior alien life is very original and shows a depth in marine science and biochemistry which must remain un-discussed as not to spoil the surprise and or shock. The addition of DNA characters of legend add authentic aspects to the ‘life' discussion as it flows through the entire story line. And indeed, not without a twist in the tail. The story of Infinite Creator Drive has a depth of unusual twists and is not so much pitched as sprayed across the imagination. The reader needs to take stock of relative time as the journey hurtles through existing science on its way to find a new humanity. One needs the seatbelts well tightened for this journey, as well as safety gear for the powerful riding of surfing waves in Oz and on an amazing planet called Endev. The future tech of DNA manufacture, rolling through the subplots, is rather compelling as we are just discovering these future concepts for real. And one wonders at the authors incite. Here is a new science of science fiction written in the non-publishable genre of Aussie Fly Boys meet the most famous man on the planet, Science Fiction. The mind boggles at the ploy. It will never work? The fly boys, being surfer bums with attitude, while the most famous man of his time is an aboriginal man from Alice Springs. He invents anti-gravity. And yes the love interest would be worth meeting for real as her unordinary charm captivates in unusual ways. Lastly, there lies an interesting undercurrent of mental instability and aspergers twinkling lightly through the sub plots as well. The chapter on emotional balance as aspects of understanding Karma will stay with the reader long after they have shed a tear as the end draws near. Pyramid meditation will be required. Infinite Creator Drive is ironically well ahead of its time, past present and future. And the concept of who or what the Infinite Creator Drive is will check the reader's thought processors. And very lastly, the imagery will test the horizons of those prepared to take a journey that pumps the heart in its pace and yet brings a tear in emotive depth. Definitely too long for a movie but what a ride that would.

Frank Beck, a man with terminal colon cancer, a new divorce, and a stack of debts, hangs himself. It's an open-and-shut suicide--except for a string of numbers inscribed on Beck's right arm. Minneapolis Homicide Detective Marshall Bahr can't make sense of the numbers or the fact that a guy everyone describes as sloppy tied a perfect hangman's noose for himself. But then he uncovers an obscure fact in the dead man's ancestry--a connection to the Battle of Gettysburg--and to make sense of its bearing on this homicide, he needs to understand ninety seconds of action at the end of this historical battle. Mars and his partner Nettie Frisch begin to theorize based on the idea that this death-by-hanging just might be related to the Civil War. Then, another body turns up and before Mars can even believe it's true, they're are on the trail of a serial killer whose motive seems to be related to a contemporary controversy about Gettysburg and the descendents of the First Minnesota Volunteers, the legendary northern regiment who turned the tide against the Confederacy on that fateful day. In this enormously compelling follow-up to Third Person Singular, KJ Erickson delivers a top-notch police procedural full of twists and turns, pitting a relentless cop against an equally determined killer.

To the writers in this book--novelists, memoirists, activists, scholars, students, professionals--the WWII internment of Japanese Americans in the detention camps of the West is an unfinished chapter of American history. Former internees and their children join with others in challenging readers to construct a better future by confronting the past. A fresh look at a compelling story, told by some of the people who lived it, that continues to tarnish the American dream.

A stunning tour de force of a novel based on the true story of a fourteen-year-old boy’s harrowing experience fleeing a Hitler youth camp with his best friend in the last days of the Second World War—perfect for readers of All the Light We Cannot See and The German Girl. At the start of the war, eight-year-old Max Bernot lives with his sister and parents in Lauterbach, Saarland, a narrow strip of territory between the French and German defence lines. His German father, Anton, and his French mother, Marguerite, do their best to shield Max and his sister, Anna, from Nazi violence, but in late 1944, their beloved godfather is executed in their garden by the SS, and Max, now thirteen, is conscripted in the Volkssturm. Less than a month later, Max flees a Hitler Youth camp in Bavaria with his best friend, Hans. His mission: to return home and tell his mother the truth about his godfather’s murder As he escapes, he sends postcards to his family that trace his fraught journey across a country in its death throes. Unbeknownst to Max, his mother is trapped in the German interior, coerced into working for a fanatical Nazi officer. Desperate to escape and reunite her family, Marguerite must first protect Anna from the sinister attentions of their captor, who could hold information on Max’s whereabouts even as Allied planes circle closer. Deftly interweaving the wartime stories of Max and Marguerite, The End and the Beginning maps the loss of innocence of a generation of children raised in the shadow of the Reich and follows the fate of one family, neither wholly French nor entirely German, who find themselves on the wrong side whichever way they turn.

Microsystems are systems that integrate, on a chip or a package, one or more of many different categories of microdevices. As the past few decades were dominated by the development and rapid miniaturization of circuitry, the current and coming decades are witnessing a similar revolution in the miniaturization of sensors, actuators, and electronics; and communication, control and power devices. Applications ranging from biomedicine to warfare are driving rapid innovation and growth in the field, which is pushing this topic into graduate and undergraduate curricula in electrical, mechanical, and biomedical engineering.
