This book documents a research project in conjunction with the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) that explores the issue of foreign acquisition and how it affects collection in international studies, area studies, collection development, and practices of international research libraries. Funding of such collections is also discussed. Academic librarians will receive suggestions and ideas for expanding foreign acquisitions, which have recently been on the decline, to provide teachers and researchers with the largest amounts of information possible.
