Here in the Callilibong they arent even called Vampires, and this book isnt really about themmores the pity because I hear theyre really big at the moment. What you are holding in your hot little hands is a story about a boy named Evan, two men called Pleth and Falco, and all the various troubles they get into in their roles as Tradesmen, the protectors of The Valley Between the Mountains the Callilibong, in the old Mahoot tongue. Now this is what Callilibong means. Now before you pass on this opportunity in an undue fit of pique, understand that there are vampires inside (though we call them night folk here) and werewolves and a number of other nasty creatures collectively known as creatures of the dusk world. And they are always up to trouble of some sort. Thats why we have tradesmen, and thats where Evans story (which is also Pleth and Falcos story) begins. So pick it up, drop a bit of thread on the pay counter, and have yourself an enjoyable experience in the nooks and crannies of a truly original fantasy world.

In this original study, Joshua Brown seeks to demonstrate the fruitfulness of Chinese philosophy for Christian theology by using Confucianism to reread, reassess, and ultimately expand the Christology of the twentieth-century Catholic theologian Hans Urs von Balthasar. Taking up the critically important Confucian idea of xiao (filial piety), Brown argues that this concept can be used to engage anew Balthasar’s treatment of the doctrine of Christ’s filial obedience, thus leading us to new Christological insights. To this end, Brown first offers in-depth studies of the early Confucian idea of xiao and of Balthasar’s Christology on their own terms and in their own contexts. He then proposes that Confucianism affirms certain aspects of Balthasar’s insights into Christ’s filial obedience. Brown also shows how the Confucian understanding of xiao provides reasons to criticize some of Balthasar’s controversial claims, such as his account of intra-Trinitarian obedience. Ultimately, by rereading Balthasar’s Christology through the lens of xiao, Balthasar in Light of Early Confucianism employs Confucian and Balthasarian resources to push the Christological conversation forward. Students and scholars of systematic theology, theologically educated readers interested in the encounter between Christianity and Chinese culture, and comparative theologians will all want to read this exceptional book.

Why did Greek tragedy and "the tragic" come to be seen as essential to conceptions of modernity? And how has this belief affected modern understandings of Greek drama? In Genealogy of the Tragic, Joshua Billings answers these and related questions by tracing the emergence of the modern theory of the tragic, which was first developed around 1800 by thinkers associated with German Idealism. The book argues that the idea of the tragic arose in response to a new consciousness of history in the late eighteenth century, which spurred theorists to see Greek tragedy as both a unique, historically remote form and a timeless literary genre full of meaning for the present. The book offers a new interpretation of the theories of Schiller, Schelling, Hegel, Hölderlin, and others, as mediations between these historicizing and universalizing impulses, and shows the roots of their approaches in earlier discussions of Greek tragedy in Germany, France, and England. By examining eighteenth-century readings of tragedy and the interactions between idealist thinkers in detail, Genealogy of the Tragic offers the most comprehensive historical account of the tragic to date, as well as the fullest explanation of why and how the idea was used to make sense of modernity. The book argues that idealist theories remain fundamental to contemporary interpretations of Greek tragedy, and calls for a renewed engagement with philosophical questions in criticism of tragedy.

The Resistance began as a small group study that focused on character development of leaders as Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount. Over time, the project narrowed the scope to address one of the primary roles of leadership: relationship building and improvement, not only in the workplace but in our homes and communities. This is done by taking an in-depth and objective based look at the qualities of character that Jesus taught in the Beatitudes and apply real life action steps to take regarding the various arenas we operate in on a daily basis. If you are a Christ follower, then you are a leader. Any area that you have a role of influence must be looked at thoroughly and an accurate assessment must be made. The goal of The Resistance isn't to build up already strong areas, but rather to confront weak areas and apply a gospel perspective to it in hopes of growth and a progressing spiritual maturity.
