The General Motors G-Body is one of the manufacturer's most popular chassis, and includes cars such as Chevrolet Malibu, Monte Carlo, and El Camino; the Buick Regal, Grand National, and GNX; the Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme; the Pontiac Grand Prix, and more. This traditional and affordable front engine/rear-wheel-drive design lends itself to common upgrades and modifications for a wide range of high-performance applications, from drag racing to road racing. Many of the vehicles GM produced using this chassis were powered by V-8 engines, and others had popular turbocharged V-6 configurations. Some of the special-edition vehicles were outfitted with exclusive performance upgrades, which can be easily adapted to other G-Body vehicles. Knowing which vehicles were equipped with which options, and how to best incorporate all the best-possible equipment is thoroughly covered in this book. A solid collection of upgrades including brakes, suspension, and the installation of GMs most popular modern engine-the LS-Series V-8-are all covered in great detail. The aftermarket support for this chassis is huge, and the interchangeability and affordability are a big reason for its popularity. It's the last mass-produced V-8/rear-drive chassis that enthusiasts can afford and readily modify. There is also great information for use when shopping for a G-Body, including what areas to be aware of or check for possible corrosion, what options to look for, and what should be avoided. No other book on the performance aspects of a GM G-Body has been published until now, and this book will serve as the bible to G-Body enthusiasts for years to come.

When I am to be involved in a project or some other activity, either personal or involving other people, and whether I am in charge or a contributor, my brain wants me to be fully prepared. This happens whether I am providing ideas or concepts during the planning phase, providing status or developing work-a-rounds during the implementation phase, or identifying lessons learned during the evaluation phase. The problem is that my brain prefers that I get prepared at night when I should be sleeping. When I try to escape these fits of insomnia by thinking of something else, my brain has a good memory and brings me back to preparation. I started developing Digital Clock Watching as an escape mechanism. It is based on the card game poker, and it worked! Watching my digital clock for, and anticipating, different combinations of numbers was complex enough to keep my brain occupied, but with one minute between display changes, it was slow enough that I could go back to sleep. Watching for of-a-kind and straight combinations was straightforward and easy, but flushes and straight-flushes were a problem, which was eventually solved. When I told friends about my game, they became interested and told me that I should document it. Since all digital clocks should display the same numbers at any given time, it is a single-player game, but my friends later asked whether I could make it competitive. The result is this book.

Then the battle shifts to the brave Island of Malta where its people play an important role in helping La Valette and the Order fight the Turks. Jean De La Valette, commander of the Order's Christian navy, knight-adventurer, and defender of the faith, engages famous Muslim pirates, like Barbarossa and Dragut Reis, and harasses on the huge Turkish navy. He seeks to recover the Holy Cross taken by the Saracens. The secret of a forbidden romance in the paradise island of Rhodes haunts this warrior monk of eighty-four battles--a unique man enslaved by the Saracens and then escapes. He is later elevated to the position of grand master of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem and Rhodes. He was considered by his peers to be "the man for the moment" restoring the order to its former glory. One man, Jean De La Valette, the greatest of the grand masters, "the rarest of human beings," defeats the Sultan's Ottoman army in the Great Siege of Malta in 1565. The proliferation of work on the theological hermeneutics of Scripture in recent years has challenged and reimagined the divisions between systematic theology and biblical studies on the one hand and academy and church on the other. Also notable, however, has been the absence of a full-length treatment of theological interpretation from a Wesleyan perspective. This monograph develops a Wesleyan theological hermeneutic of Scripture, approached as a craft learned from a tradition-constituted appropriation of John Wesley’s hermeneutics. This hermeneutic requires a descriptive analysis of the context, grammar, and ruled reading of the literal sense in Wesley’s interpretive practices, as well as critical interaction with the analysis in light of contemporary issues. As a result of this interaction, continuity and discontinuity between Wesley’s and Wesleyan interpretation emerges and is accounted for. The Wesleyan theological hermeneutic developed here defines the church as Spirit-formed context within the larger divine economy of salvation, in contrast with Wesley’s emphasis on individual soteriology and underdeveloped ecclesiology. Within this community context, Wesleyan theological interpretation is a means of grace whereby the Holy Spirit reinterprets the identity of readers into children of God. Theological interpretation invites readers on a Wesleyan account to participate in the textually mediated identity of Jesus Christ through the gracious work of the Holy Spirit. Wesleyan identity is therefore a figurally created identity based on the literal sense of Scripture. Wesley’s analogy of faith, which rules his reading of Scripture, thus gives way to a more explicitly trinitarian rule of faith.

In 1869, Concordia, Kansas, was declared the county seat of what would become Cloud County. At first, the town existed only on paper as a project being pushed by James M. Hagaman and a small group of partners. Once development started, Concordia rapidly grew to become a center of commerce south of the Republican River that eventually attracted four railroad lines. It became a town of landmarks, including several famous hotels, two opera houses, Nazareth Convent, and a thriving downtown area. Characters in the story of Concordia include French Canadian immigrants, nuns, pilots, quarreling newspaper editors, German prisoners of war, and politician Frank Carlson. Was it stress, or was it insomnia? Or are we just natural dreamers? My stories probably come to me from having too much time in my hands and thinking too much. The following stories probably came to me as dreams when I was doing a lot of daydreaming back in the seventies. At the time, I was pulling my weight while working at White’s Auto Store warehouse in the small town of Shallowater, Texas. I was a certified forklift driver pulling orders, license, and all. I worked in what was called Area 8. I pulled the big boxed toys, bicycles, and lawn mowers. I also pulled the fertilizer bag orders. Working inside a warehouse had many disadvantages. There was always dust all over the place. The warehouse was always hot in summer and pretty cold in winter. Many times when it was slow, I would let my mind just wander off into oblivion. That’s when my stories were born and began to take shape. Characters and names of characters would pop into my mind out of nowhere.

From a no frills family to national business success. It has not been a straight road for me, but with my work ethic, tenacity, never-quit attitude and entrepreneurial skills I have thrived and survived. Starting out at 12 years old going door to door selling Downy Flake Doughnuts, my work ethic was established at an early age. I advanced moving from job to job accelerating my work position providing me with enough income to purchase a wrist watch, my first car and paying my way through college. Investing and my entrepreneurial instincts have catapulted me from having my first duplex, purchasing a printing business, opening three roller skating rinks, building a national condominium and apartment development company building and selling over 1,400 units. Along the way I think I have used most of my Nine Lives! Among my many close calls with death are my tour in Vietnam, surviving Hurricane Iris and a runaway driver. I served with the 1st Air Calvary Division in Vietnam with my team’s mission, “Search and Destroy”. At times we had direct contact with the enemy at daybreak, mid-day, and prior to sunset-breakfast, lunch and dinner. I excelled at this S & D mission being named “Soldier of the Month” and being awarded an accommodation for Valor. On one of our many international SCUBA diving adventures my wife and I were on a 100-foot yacht, The Aggressor, in Belize along with another 100-foot yacht, The Wave Dancer. We were tied up 20 feet apart in a remote area waiting out Hurricane Iris, when the category four storm ripped The Wave Dancer from its cleats capsizing and killing 20 of the 28 people aboard. I wrote a book about the tragedy, “No Safe Harbor”. Another close call with death came as I was sitting in my front room watching a baseball game. A person speeding from the police catapulted his car over a berm into a tree and spun his car into my room. Both the tree and car were less than 12 inches from where I was sitting. The fleeing crashing culprit was arrested a few weeks later on my 80th birthday I have lived a charmed and successful Life!

On the sixth day of creation, God formed Adam from the dust of the earth. God then formed Eve from Adam's side. From this day forward man was to leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife. The two are joined together by God in a permanent one-flesh relationship. After man fell, the sins of adultery, fornication, polygamy, and divorce altered God's intention for marriage. This was true of those both outside and inside God's covenant community. By the time the Lord Jesus Christ came in the flesh, the traditions of Judaism had either changed or nullified God's command for marriage. The Lord Jesus Christ came and stated God's original intent for marriage: 1. Permanence. The husband and wife are one flesh. They are permanently joined in a covenant relationship for life. No person has the legal or moral authority to end what God has joined together. No sin or legal document can dissolve the one-flesh bond. 2. Forgiveness. This is Christ's emphasis in dealing with sin. When one spouse fails, the love of Christ compels the other to forgive. Hardness of heart is the cause of unforgiveness and results in divorce. Because of the biblical teachings of Jesus and Paul, the early church held to the permanence of marriage. Over the centuries, Christ's commands on the permanence of marriage have been either changed or nullified. They have been replaced with the traditions of men. In theory, Christians are taught that they may divorce and remarry if their spouse commits adultery or deserts them. In practice, many evangelical Christians are divorcing and remarrying for almost any reason. The Lord Jesus Christ taught God's original intentions regarding forgiveness and divorce. The Word of God has not changed. "What God has joined together, let no man separate" (Mark 10:9).
