PROAP Estudos e Projectos de Arquitectura Paisagista Lda (Lisbon), brings together a large group of professional landscape architecture, architectural design and fine arts, which are part of a group represented by João Nunes and Carlos Ribas. The work and research of the office are oriented around a principle of intervention in the landscape from the interpretation and recognition of its rules and its workings. PROAP realized projects since 1985, dealing mainly with urban public spaces and public parks in which a design approach tacked to a poetry reading meets up with an aesthetic research dominated by the enhancement of the materiality of spaces.
Introduction to Adhesive Bonding A step-by-step introduction to basic principles and practical applications of adhesive bonding, designed for students and professionals alike Adhesive bonding—the process of joining two surfaces using glues, epoxies, plastic agents, and other adhesives—is a major technique with wide applications in industries as a diverse as aerospace, footwear manufacturing, and food packaging. Adhesive bonding holds several advantages over conventional joining techniques, such as uniform stress concentrations, protection of the bonded surfaces or joints, and the ability to join a variety of different materials and irregular surfaces. Introduction to Adhesive Bonding provides an accessible overview of the principles and common applications of adhesive bonding. Using a systematic approach, the authors thoroughly explain each step necessary to achieve a successful adhesive bond, including surface preparation, bonding agent selection, design and construction of bonded joints, health and safety considerations, and quality control. Readers are provided with both the theoretical foundation and practical information required to plan and complete their own adhesive bonding projects. This comprehensive yet reader-friendly volume: Highlights the inherent advantages of adhesive bonding in various applications Describes the use of adhesive bonding in the development of novel and advanced projects in different industries Features numerous real-world examples of adhesive bonding in areas such as the transportation industry, civil engineering, medical applications, and sports equipment Discusses how adhesives enable development of new products and constructions of reduced weight and size Identifies important limitations and durability concerns of the use of adhesives in specific applications Introduction to Adhesive Bonding is an ideal textbook for undergraduate or graduate Engineering and Chemistry programs, and a useful reference for researchers and industry professionals working in fields such as Engineering, Surface and Polymer Chemistry, and Materials Science.
A chapter from the Global Innovation Science Handbook, a comprehensive guide to the science, art, tools, and deployment of innovation, brought together by two Editors of the prestigious International Journal of Innovation Science, with ground-breaking contributions from global innovation leaders in every type of industry.
This book presents research trends on computer vision, especially on application of robotics, and on advanced approachs for computer vision (such as omnidirectional vision). Among them, research on RFID technology integrating stereo vision to localize an indoor mobile robot is included in this book. Besides, this book includes many research on omnidirectional vision, and the combination of omnidirectional vision with robotics. This book features representative work on the computer vision, and it puts more focus on robotics vision and omnidirectioal vision. The intended audience is anyone who wishes to become familiar with the latest research work on computer vision, especially its applications on robots. The contents of this book allow the reader to know more technical aspects and applications of computer vision. Researchers and instructors will benefit from this book.
The aim of this open access book is to review and analyse the goods and services of bivalve shellfish. How they are defined, what determines the ecological functions that are the basis for the goods and services, what controversies in the use of goods and services exist, and what is needed for sustainable exploitation of bivalves from the perspective of the various stakeholders. The book is focused on the goods and services, and not on impacts of shellfish aquaculture on the benthic environment, or on threats like biotoxins; neither is it a shellfish culture handbook although it can be used in evaluating shellfish culture. The reviews and analysis are based on case studies that exemplify the concept, and show the strengths and weaknesses of the current applications. The multi-authored reviews cover ecological, economic and social aspects of bivalve goods and services. The book provides new insights for scientists, students, shellfish producers, policy advisors, nature conservationists and decision makers. This book is open access under the CC BY license. This volume constitutes the proceedings of the 16th International Conference on Services Computing 2019, held as Part of SCF 2019 in San Diego, CA, USA in June 2019. The 9 full papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 15 submissions. They cover topics such as: foundations of services computing; scientific workflows; business process integration and management; microservices; modeling of services systems; service security and privacy; SOA service applications; and service lifecycle management.
The aim of this book is to provide new ideas, original results and practical experiences regarding service robotics. This book provides only a small example of this research activity, but it covers a great deal of what has been done in the field recently. Furthermore, it works as a valuable resource for researchers interested in this field.

This book is dedicated to the analysis of parametric amplification with special emphasis on the MOS discrete-time implementation. This implementation is demonstrated by the presentation of several circuits where the MOS parametric amplifier cell is used: small gain amplifier, comparator with embedded pre-amplification, discrete-time mixer/IIR-Filter, and analog-to-digital converter (ADC). Experimental results are shown to validate the overall design technique.
